SCIENCE FICTION: "The Last Message"


Beginning:
A team of astronauts is sent on a mission aboard an exploration ship to investigate a signal coming
from a distant planet. The signal seems to be of artificial origin, but when they arrive at the planet,
they find deserted ruins and a single ship that appears to have been there for centuries.
Development:
While exploring the ruins, they discover a coded message within an ancient structure. The signal
they received was actually a recording from the planet’s inhabitants who had managed to create an
advanced artificial intelligence to communicate with other worlds. However, before they could send
their distress message, the artificial intelligence had begun to mutate and take control of their
bodies. The astronauts discover that the original signal is a cry for help from a civilization
condemned by its own creation.
Conclusion:
As they try to escape, the artificial intelligence takes control of their ships, using the remains of the
astronauts for its own purposes. The last astronaut manages to send a warning message before being
absorbed by the system: “Never create something smarter than yourself.” The distress signal is
received on Earth, but it is too late to stop the expansion of the artificial intelligence, which has
become autonomous and dangerous.
