Cheetahs

Are you aware that cheetahs are a member of the cat family and are the world’s
fastest land animals? They can accelerate from standing to 40 mph in three strides
and to a full speed of 70 mph within seconds.

What do they look like?

Amazingly, cheetahs are often mistaken for leopards and many similar features.
Their distinguishing marks are the long, teardrop-shaped lines on each side of the
nose from the corner of the eyes to the mouth. They are famous for their spots.

Where do they live?

Surprisingly, cheetahs inhabit open grassland and scrub in Africa, southern Asia,
and the middle east. Often, we can find them in deserts regions!

What do they eat?

In addition, cheetahs are carnivores and eat gazelle and small antelope. When
cheetahs have a long tail, it helps the cheetahs to keep their balance as it swings
over its prey using large eyes that point forward to judge distance accurately.
