Introduction
Can a school truly claim to be a suitable environment if its own
student government fails to address conflicts among students? But, what
does Leadership really mean? It is not just about having a title, Leadership
is a set of mindsets and behaviors that aligns people in a collective
direction, enables them to work together and accomplish shared goals, and
helps them adjust to changing environments1. In our school system, we
have the organization called the “SSLG” or the Supreme Secondary
Learner Government. Where their role is to serve, protect, and promote the
rights and welfare of every learner2. This organization is a set of learners
that was elected for a certain position. Even though they are elected on
different positions, all of them has the responsibility to lead. This study
focuses on student leadership, which refers to the roles and responsibilities
undertaken by students within educational institutions3. The responsibilities
of student leaders extend beyond the exercise of authority within the
campus. Us, the researchers, has chosen this topic to promote awareness
on students and younger generations, in terms of choosing and electing
public officials not only inside an institution but also in political elections.
The reason behind this instance is because public officials are the one who
will guide everyone one of us on the path of rightfulness, that is also one of
the factor why we voted a candidate for a certain position because we
know on ourselves that this particular person can help us in terms of
improving our community. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to

investigate the relationship between Leadership of Student Government
and the Discipline, Peace and Orderliness inside an Educational Institution.
Student Leadership
Student leadership refers to the positions, responsibility and influence
held by the learners inside an institution. This responsibility enhances
students’ engagement and motivation not only in academics but also in
their character and morale. These roles can also affect their skills,
improving their essential skills such as in communication, team work and
even time management (Abbas S. 2024). Leadership of students who
stand out for their effective with an outstanding behavior setting them from
their peer (Goktas, Akyurek 2023). According also to a study of Goktas and
Akyurek, the impact of school happiness on student leadership is moderate
and positive. Also, school happiness significantly predicts student
leadership. It can be observed that those who experience or feel happiness
are more likely to show their leadership qualities. In addition, school
happiness and leadership of student is indeed connected, the reason
behind this instance is because as the level of school happiness increases,
the quantity of leaners who shows their leadership behavior also increases.
Therefore, the reason for effective leadership is due to high level of school
happiness.
Campus Peace and Orderliness
The orderliness inside an educational institution shall be observed all
the time, in order for everyone to effectively do their task and works. We all
know that no one is comfortable working in an environment that is not

orderly or neat. Inside an educational institution, particularly in secondary
schools we are taught to conduct ourselves properly and appropriately, our
actions and words action must be mannered and humane. The
peacefulness inside an educational institution can affect the effectiveness
of learning. In 2018, researchers Miller and Abdou suggested a new way to
create a peaceful and welcoming school environment. They call it the IPPL
or the Integral Perspective of Peace Leadership. It is all about looking at
the whole image and not just about solving the issues or fixing problems,
but also about helping teachers, staffs, and even the school community
grow as a whole and as one4. The goal is to create a school where
everyone feels like they belong, and are treated with respect, and feel safe
and comfortable. A peaceful campus enhances academic performance and
personal growth, this is because the students are already comfortable on
the environment that they are in. Therefore, the peacefulness and
orderliness inside the campus has to do something with the behavior and
performance of students.
Conclusion
Effective student leaders, of course can effectively lead the students.
This does not only affect the mood of the campus but also give
opportunities on students to exert their leadership abilities and hidden
talents. When talking about the leadership of students, we focus on the
effectiveness of their leadership and their strategies. In addition, leadership
is not always about the power that the leaders have to overrule the people
under their custody, but also about them on how will they participate to the
group to execute tasks efficiently and effectively. Example is how good or

how bad is the leadership of an officer, is he/her doing their task or are they
just using their positions to rule over the students? These are only the
possible questions that we might encounter when talking about student
leadership, there are still a lot of factors affecting the student leadership,
especially on higher education. On the other hand, the Peacefulness and
Orderliness inside an educational institution also has to deal something the
leadership, particularly in happiness and environment. According to the
study of Goktas and Akyurek, as the level of school happiness increases,
the number of students showing their leadership behavior also increases.
This simply means that the relation between Student Leadership and
Campus Peace and Orderliness is essential on building an effective
learning environment for the learners, making them more active in exerting
efforts not only in academics but also in extracurricular activities, this is due
to as they feel comfortable, their confidence builds up making them feel
free to show their natural talents. Furthermore, ensuring that everyone feels
safe and respected, and like they really belong to their environment is
essential on helping students became good leaders. Students are more
likely to participate when they feel like they being heard and valued by their
environment. That feeling of connectedness and value makes them feel like
they wanted to make their school a safe and better environment. Therefore,
the effect of Peaceful and orderly campus is a comfortable environment for
the learners to exert their talents and leadership skill.

The main reason we chose to do this study comes from our
experiences in the BNIS SSLG, which is our local Student Government.
The way they lead, being open and caring about everyone really inspired
us. We want to understand how student leaders can be successful in
different situations and what makes the BNIS SSLG so good at it. We're
looking at what makes the BNIS SSLG work so well. It seems like they're
really good at being open with everyone and making sure people feel safe
and supported. They've also made the school a happier place by doing lots
of fun things for everyone, not just students. This study is our way of
sharing what we've learned from observing the BNIS SSLG officers. They
take their jobs seriously and do a great job of helping our beloved alma
mater. To show how well they execute tasks, they have taken photos and
created written reports about all the projects that they have accomplished.
The BNIS SSLG is a great example of how a student government can be
well-organized and really care about its members. You can see this not just
in what they do, but also in how they plan and manage all their projects and
events.
