“Youth in Service, Nation in Progress: Advancing ROTC for National
Security”
First and foremost, the course “Reserve Officers’ Training Corps” is
very crucial in this era. There are numerous people that are lacking
leadership skills, a sense of patriotism, and the most important of all, is
discipline. Despite the people that are lacking these essential qualities,
people who participate in ROTC develop discipline, leadership skills, and a
strong sense of patriotism-skills that are crucial to advancement and national
security.
As a first-year college student who is currently studying at the
Aeronautical Academy of the Philippines, Inc. I acknowledge that we, the
Filipino people, especially the senior high school students who are going to
college the next school year, must enroll to ROTC or Reserve Officers’
Training Corps to serve the nation. ROTC is very important in shaping the
minds of the people who are going to be apart of it. It teaches what young
people need. ROTC helps young people develop their physical and mental
toughness, leadership skills, and sense of responsibility. These abilities are
crucial not only in military but also in the government, national security, and
community service. Promoting ROTC prepares the generation to defend and
serve the nation. To make ROTC more effective and successful, it needs
constant improvements and modernization. The government should verify if
the training is updated, relevant, and suited for today’s security needs. The
youth will be better prepared for national service if there are more resources
available, better programs, and skilled instructors available. More people will
join ROTC if the public is aware if its significance.
In conclusion, ROTC helps build a safer and stronger nation. By training
young people in discipline and leadership, we can boost national security and
foster responsibility in future generations. A country that invests in its
youth’s service is a country that secures its stability, peace, and progress.
