Automation Engineer Roadmap in Core Industry

1. Foundation (0-1 Year)

- Understand PLC basics (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider)

- Learn SCADA and HMI software (WinCC, Ignition, FactoryTalk)

- Study sensors, actuators, and control system basics

- Read electrical drawings (P&ID, wiring diagrams)

- Tools: TIA Portal, RSLogix, AutoCAD Electrical

2. Intermediate (1-3 Years)

- Develop intermediate to advanced PLC logic

- Design SCADA/HMI systems with real-time data

- Work with VFDs, servo systems, and motion controllers
