Assignment 3 Guidelines – Community Service Activity
Objective
1. Encourage to identify and address pressing social issues in your community.
2. Develop research, planning, and execution skills.
3. Promote civic engagement and empathy through hands-on community work.
4. Enhance ability to communicate and present findings effectively.
Assignment 3: Community Service Activity
Weightage: 15 (8 for the report, 7 for the presentation)
Group Assignment (4-5 students).
Task:
Identify a Social Issue:
Identify a pressing issue from your community a such as environment degradation, climate
change, smog, education, traffic congestion, vehicle safety, child labor, climate change, tree
plantation drives, waste management, or health awareness, peace and harmony in society, or
any other relevant topic of your choice.
You can select the same topic from Assignment 2 or a new one but it must be approved by your
teacher.
Perform Community Service:
Complete 3 hours minimum of community service related to your chosen issue.
Student can work within or outside the campus, collaborate with government registered
social welfare organization (not compulsory, but encouraged, if possible), or engage in
activities in your local area. It is highly recommended to engage and work with some
government registered social welfare organization, if possible and convenient for you.
Students can also collaborate with Fast Care Society
Other examples of community service:
Organizing a cleanliness drive.
Conducting a digital literacy workshop/class.
Plantation Drive
Launching a social media campaign to raise awareness on the mentioned areas. You may also
collaborate for this with the government registered welfare organization.
Creating educational social media content
Running a donation drive for a social cause for government registered welfare organization
Health awareness campaign
You may also come up with more ideas, but do discuss and get approval of your teacher before
you start your work
Submit a Report:
After completing community service, submit a detailed report.
The report should include:
Introduction to the issue.
Research findings.
Description of your community service activities.
Outcomes and impact of your work.
Give a Presentation:
Present your work to the class, highlighting your research, community service activities,
and the impact of your efforts.
Group Size: 4-5 students per group
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Format: PowerPoint/ Google Slides
Content: Cover all four steps mentioned above.
Teamwork: All group members must participate in the presentation.
Visual Appeal: Use clear, concise slides with a focus on visuals and minimal text.
Report Formatting Guidelines:
Font size should be 12
Line spacing should be 1.5.
Align text to justified.

Title page
Research findings (Describe the root causes of the issue, highlight efforts to address it
(e.g., government/NGO initiatives), Identify gaps in these efforts)
Describe your community service activities
Outcomes and impact
Recommendations
References
