Note
Master to consider all options with the available information on stability and reserve buoyancy before jettisoning the
cargo.
Initial Actions

Ascertain the cargo quantity and identity of tanks that have to be jettisoned.

Calculate the resultant stability after jettisoning. Seek ERS advice, as required.

6. Seal the accommodation/ ECR/ spaces on deck.

Prepare equipment for jettisoning as per arrangement onboard.
Use the stern line, if fitted. Else, connect a long extension pipe of suitable material

to the manifold with the help of a reducer. Keep the outboard end of the pipe
angled downward.
