The following information is provided to ensure safe operation of the device. Please read
them carefully before starting to use the device:
• Do not disassemble the device. If the device case is damaged or the insulation of the
wires is compromised, disconnect the power cables from the power supply first.
• It is important to remember that all wireless data transmission devices generate
interference that can affect other devices nearby.
• Installation or dismantling of the device should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
• The device must be securely fixed as described in the installation instructions.
• Configuration must be carried out using a second safety class computer with an
independent power supply.
• Ensure that the device is installed in a location that is protected from adverse
environmental conditions for long periods.
• Dispose of used batteries in accordance with environmental regulations.
• For configuration, use quality, certified cables. TOPFLYtech accepts no liability for
damage or loss resulting from the use of unsuitable cables.
• Disconnect the device from the power supply before disassembling it to insert or replace
the SIM card.
• Waste from the equipment must not be disposed of with household waste. The product
must be sent to specific collection points at the end of its useful life.
TOPFLYtech is dedicated to ensuring that its clients enjoy the most seamless and user-
friendly experience with its products and services. To achieve this, we have introduced automatic
firmware updates for all our devices. This feature is designed to keep your devices up to date by
automatically installing the latest firmware versions. It has been integrated to not only enhance
the performance of your devices but also to save you the time and effort required for manual
firmware updates.
However, we understand that there may be cases where you prefer to have more control over
when and how firmware updates are applied to your devices. If you wish to turn off this automatic
feature for any reason, you have the option to do so. To disable automatic firmware updates,
contact TOPFLYtech, and our support team will assist you in this process.
Once you've disabled the automatic firmware update feature, please note that the
responsibility for keeping your device's firmware up to date will fall on you. In such cases,
firmware updates can only be performed by sending manual upgrade commands to your device.
This ensures that you have full control over the update process and can apply firmware updates
at your discretion.
Attention
This device is a solar-powered tracker that can use sunlight to power itself and extend the
battery life. It has a solar panel that can convert light energy into electrical energy and store it in
the internal battery. The device needs to be installed in a place where it can receive enough
sunlight to charge the battery. The device also has a voltage sensor that can compare the output
voltage of the solar panel and the battery voltage. The solar panel will only charge the battery
when its output voltage is 0.3V higher than the battery voltage. If the output voltage is lower than
that, the solar charging will stop to prevent over-discharging the battery. The device also has a
reporting function that can send its location and status to the server at certain intervals. The
reporting intervals can affect the battery life, as more frequent reporting will consume more
power. To make the battery last longer, the reporting intervals should be set to lower rates. For
example, the device can report every 5 minutes when it is moving, and every 1 hour when it is not
moving. This way, the device can balance the power consumption and the power gain from the
solar panel. The customer can also contact TOPFLYtech for more guidance on how to set the
reporting intervals.
This device is a tracker that can be used for different purposes and in different settings.
However, customers need to make sure that they know how to use the device properly and where
to install it. If the device is used incorrectly or in an unsuitable environment, it may not work well
or cause problems. TOPFLYtech will not be liable for any damage or loss that may result from
using the device inappropriately or with a wrong reporting rate. The reporting rate is how often the
device sends its location and status to the server. The reporting rate can affect the device’s
performance and battery life. Therefore, customers should contact TOPFLYtech before using the
device and ask for advice on how to set the reporting rate and install the device. TOPFLYtech is
happy to help customers with their questions and needs.
To extend the battery life, we designed an intelligent power management algorithm. This
algorithm allows the tracker working under a lower reporting rate when battery is low. Once the
battery is charged back, the tracker will report as normal. This function is enabled in default.
Customer can disable it by command. The working logic is:
• When the battery voltage value is down to 3.4V, the tracker will report at every 24 hours no
matter if moving or in standstill.
• When the battery is charged back to 3.5V, the device will report as what are set by customer.
Battery Protection
The tracker has a charging threshold to avoid the battery overcharge. Only when the battery
voltage is ≤ 3.95V, the battery charging will start once sunlight condition is met or the tracker is
connected to external power through the cable. The charging will stop when the battery voltage
reaches 4.05V or the sunlight condition isn’t met or it’s disconnected from external power,
depending on which comes first.

DO NOT, under any circumstance, use multi-headed USB-C cables to charge or configure
TOPFLYtech devices. Although our devices use the USB-C connector, they are NOT compatible
with the PD protocol, and can only withstand 5V DC.
Multiple output chargers with INDIVIDUAL CABLES TO THE DEVICES are allowed.
Note: The indicator lights will go out automatically after the tracker is powered for 70
seconds, unless configured to be always on or connected to the USB.
Every TLP2-SFB has a laser engraved table containing important information as operating
voltage, battery capacity and IMEI number both human readable and in a QR code format.
SIM Card
The TLP2-SFB is compatible with SIM cards in the Nano format. To ensure proper operation,
make sure that the SIM card's data plan is enabled, that no PIN code is set and that there is
sufficient balance. If you plan to use SMS commands to setup the device, make sure the SIM card
plan has SMS enabled.
• Please fix the 2 screws one by one following the sequence below 1-2, using the
Hardware
Hold the power button on the back of the device for 5 seconds. The LED lights on the device
will sequentially light up from right to left until all three LED lights are lit, indicating that the device
has powered on successfully. Refer to the image below for the location of the power button. If
there is a laser-engraved circle in the upper right corner of the device, the power button is the
laser-engraved circle. Conversely, if there is no laser-engraved circle on the device, the power
button is the raised button.
Commands are not case-sensitive and can be sent via SMS, platform or console via USB. The
content is separated by comma and ends with #. When set successfully, the tracker will
return OK and execute it. Otherwise, there will be no message returned.

If the user is sending commands to the device via the platform instead of SMS or serial
console the password is not needed. Remove the “<password>,” from the command before
sending. More information is available in the Command List in the DMS.
TOPFLYtech devices
The standard warranty for our product lasts for 12 months starting from the date of purchase.
To ensure the longevity of your tracker, especially if you plan to store it for an extended period,
we recommend a specific maintenance procedure.
If you anticipate leaving the tracker unused for a while, it's advisable to connect it to an
external power source and recharge the internal battery for a continuous period of 10 hours every
3 months. This proactive measure will significantly contribute to preserving the lifespan of the
internal battery.
