Summer Project Guidelines: IMBA/MBA/MCOM (2025)

1. Each student of the IMBA/MBA/M.COM will be required to submit a Project Report


based on work done in an industry of repute.
2. Project work will be carried out under the joint supervision of two Guides. One of them
will be from the work place and the other from among the Faculty Members of the
Institute.
3. The subject matter of the Project Work will be finalized by the student in consultation
with either or both of the respective guides. Every student should be in continuous touch
through e-mail with his/her guide during the project work.

5. Two printed copies and one soft copy in .pdf format, of the project report, should be
submitted to the Academic office of the Institute and one printed copy should be
submitted to the organization where the project work is undertaken.
6. A project summary has to be submitted along with soft copy to the internal guide while
submitting the project report (format attached).
7. The printed copy of the Project Report must bear the Guidance Certificate duly signed
by both the Guides (Internal & External). The signature of the External guide should be
supported by the relevant seal of the organization.
8. Text format for the report:
a) Length of the report : 50 pages ** (excluding appendices & annexure)
b) Size of the paper : A4
c) Margin : 1 inch each
d) Line Spacing : 1.5
e) Font : Arial
f) Heading text size : 16
g) Sub-heading text size : 14
h) Paragraph text size : 12

** Research Methodology and Findings/conclusions/recommendations must cover at least two


third of the total length of your report
9. Acknowledgements: There are many persons who may have helped you during the
course of your project. It is your obligation to acknowledge and thank them for their
help. Customarily, thanks are due to the following persons in the given order.
a) Head of the Organization.
b) Faculty Guide
c) Others.

10. Table of Contents: The main function of this element is to give the reader an overall
view of the report. The main divisions as well as the subdivisions should be listed with
the number of the page on which they first appear. It helps the reader locate a particular
topic or sub-topic easily. While preparing the Table of Contents you have to bear in
mind the following points about its layout:
 Leave a 1" margin on the left and a 1" margin on the right, the top and the
bottom.
 Write the phrase ‘Table of Contents’ on the top in CAPITALS.
 Write the number of the item to indicate the sequence of items. After the number,
leave three or four spaces and then type the first heading.
 Indent second-order headings three or four spaces.
 Leave two spaces between main headings and one space between subheadings

11. Every student has to appear in the Viva-Voce examination on the Project Work.
