Good morning class. Today I want to tell you about Telaga Warna. Listen to the story carefully. Long
time ago, there was a kingdom in West Java. The kingdom was ruled by a king named His Majesty
Prabu. He was a kind and wise king. But it was a pity that Prabu and his queen hadn’t got any children.
The queen often cried. That was why Prabu went to the forest. There he prayed to God every day,
begging for a child. And what happened then? A few months later, the queen became pregnant. Nine
months later, a baby girl was born. Prabu and Queen loved their beautiful daughter so much. They
gave whatever she wanted. It made Princess turn into a very spoiled child. One day, the princess
celebrated her 17th birthday party. Many people gathered in the palace. Then, Prabu took out a
necklace which was made from gold and jewels. “My beloved daughter, today I give you this necklace.
Please, wear this necklace,” said Prabu. “I don’t want to wear it! It’s ugly!” shouted the princess. Then
she threw away the necklace. The beautiful necklace broke into pieces. The gold and jewels were
spread out on the floor. Everybody couldn’t say anything. They never thought that their beloved
princess would do that rudely. In their sadness, people heard the queen crying. Every woman felt sad
and began crying, too. Then, everybody was crying. Then, there was a big flood. Earth was crying.
Nowadays, people called the lake “Telaga Warna”. It means “Lake of Color”. On a bright day, the lake
is full of color. These colors come from reflections of forest, plants, flowers, and sky around the lake.
But some people said that the colors are from the princess’s necklace, which spreads at the bottom of

tech-savvy fashionista, appeared. With a wave of her hand and a few swipes on her digital tablet, she
transformed Cinderella’s worn-out dress into an elegant, modern gown and a humble bicycle into a
sleek, luxury car. However, the enchantment would wear off at midnight. At the gala, Cinderella
captured everyone’s attention with her stunning look and grace. However, as the clock struck midnight,
she had to leave quickly, accidentally leaving behind a unique diamond necklace.

named Malin. Raised by his mother, who was a humble merchant, Malin dreamed of becoming a
respected leader. He left their small village to seek his fortune in the bustling capital city. After years of
hard work and determination, Malin succeeded in becoming a prominent and wealthy trader. He
amassed great wealth and established himself as a powerful figure in the city, far removed from his
modest beginnings.
Complication
Despite his success, Malin never returned to visit his mother, who continued to live in their small
village, relying on the little earnings she made from her modest shop. When Malin was invited to a
prestigious gala celebrating his achievements, he did not extend an invitation to his mother, who still
cherished the hope of seeing her son succeed. Upon hearing about the gala from a friend, she decided to
travel to the city to reconnect with Malin. However, when she arrived at the opulent event in her simple
attire, Malin, now embarrassed by his humble origins, pretended not to know her and ordered his guards
to escort her out.
Resolution
Heartbroken by her son’s rejection, Malin’s mother returned to the village, where she prayed fervently
for justice. Her prayers were answered when a sudden, severe drought struck the city, causing a severe
shortage of goods and disrupting trade. Malin’s wealth and influence began to crumble as his business
suffered greatly. Realizing the impact of his arrogance and the pain he had caused, Malin sought out his
mother. He found her, asked for her forgiveness, and with her help, he began to rebuild his life and
restore his business. Malin learned the true value of family and humility, and he lived a more grounded
and generous life from then on, always honoring his roots.

Complication
When Snow White was close to completing an important scientific breakthrough—a new treatment that
could help many people—her stepmother grew envious. She decided to ruin Snow White’s project by
tampering with her research data. The altered data caused a major mistake, leading to the project being
labeled a failure and making Snow White look untrustworthy. Snow White was temporarily suspended
from her job while the institute investigated the problem.

tampered data. With the support of a trusted colleague, she presented the evidence to the institute’s
leaders. They reinstated Snow White and exposed her stepmother’s sabotage. Snow White’s research

Little Red Riding Hood
Once upon a time, there was a lovely little girl called Little Red Riding Hood. She had this name
because her grandma gave her a little red hood, and she wore it every day. Her grandmother loved her
very much.
One day her mother said to her, “Little Red Riding Hood, please take this basket of food to your
grandmother. Be careful on the way, and do not leave the path”.
“Don’t worry mum, I’ll be careful!” said Little Red Riding Hood to her mother, and set out on the way
to her grandmother’s.
Her grandmother lived in a village on the other side of the wood. As Little Red Riding Hood entered
the wood, a wolf met her. She had never seen a wolf before, so she didn’t know they were dangerous.
“Good day, Little Red Riding Hood. My name is Wolf. Nice to meet you”.
“Hi Wolf. Nice to meet you too”.
“Where are you going, Little Red Riding Hood?”
“To my grandmother’s house”
“Where does she live?”
“She lives in the village on the other side of the wood over there. It’s the first house in the village”,
replied Little Red Riding Hood.
The wolf walked next to Little Red Riding hood, and then said “Look at those pretty flowers! Why
don’t you pick some for your grandmother?”
Little Red Riding Hood looked and saw all the pretty flowers. She ran off the path, and started picking a
bunch of flowers for her grandmother.
Meanwhile, the wolf ran straight to grandmother’s house and knocked on the door.
“Who’s there?”
“Little Red Riding Hood,” replied the wolf. “I have some food for you, please open the door!”
Grandmother opened the door. The wolf quickly jumped in and pushed grandmother into the closet.
“Help! Please let me out!” cried grandmother.
“Be quiet and stay in the closet!” The wolf put on Grandmother’s dress, cap and glasses, and got into
Grandmother’s bed.
After Little Red Riding Hood had picked a big bunch of flowers, she finally arrived at grandmother’s
house. She saw the open door, and called out “Good Morning!”. There was no answer. She slowly went
into the bedroom, and saw her grandmother lying in bed, looking very strange.
“Oh! grandmother,” she said, “what big ears you have!”
“All the better to hear you with, my child,” was the reply.
“But, grandmother, what big eyes you have!” she said.
“All the better to see you with, my dear.” said the wolf.
“But, grandmother, what large hands you have!”
“All the better to hug you with.”
“Oh! but, grandmother, what a terrible big mouth you have!”
“All the better to eat you with!”
The wolf jumped out of bed and wanted to eat Little Red Riding Hood. She shouted loudly and tried to
run away.
Just then, a hunter was passing the house. He heard Little Red Riding Hood’s cry and went into the
house.
“Go away, wolf!” said the Hunter.
He pulled out his bow and shot the wolf. The wolf ran away, and Little Red Riding Hood and her
grandmother lived happily ever after.

A glass of Milk, paid in Full
by STEPHEN on SEPTEMBER 15, 2008
One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he
had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house.
However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for
a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk.
He drank it slowly, and then asked, “How much do I owe you?” “You don’t owe me anything,” she
replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.” He said, “Then I thank you from my
heart.”
As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was
strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.
Year’s later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent
her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was
called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled
his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.
Dressed in his doctor’s gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the

A post from EmilyW

Many people, myself included, find it very difficult to live in the moment: that is, to appreciate the
present and never look backwards or forwards. For me, it feels like there is so much to look forward to
that wishing that time would pass faster becomes a terrible habit.
I was so excited to start my year abroad in October that I spent the whole summer counting down the
days until I could move to France. But once I arrived, although I loved it, I couldn't wait until the
Christmas holidays. At home in December, I was looking forward to going back so much that the
countdown began again! Now I'm left with only seven weeks left in this wonderful country, but I'm
caught in a dilemma. On one hand, I can't wait for summer – no more work, lots of sun, and a holiday
with my best friends. However, on the other hand, I don't want my time in France to come to an end!
I have realized that I spend a lot of time looking ahead to what's coming next in my life. I can admit that
this may sometimes stop me from living in the present. If you're always more excited about the future
than the present, it is almost impossible to properly enjoy or appreciate your every day life.
Looking back on my time in France, I wish it had gone even slower than it has. I do feel like I've made
the most of my six months here, but I did spend a lot of time counting down. Whether it was wishing
the weekend would come faster when I was having a boring day at school, wanting January to disappear
because I was too cold, or wishing a few weeks away because I wanted my boyfriend to come and visit
me sooner, I spent a lot of time looking at the future, not the present. Now I'm actually dreading going
back to university: I won't be getting paid anymore, I won't have as much free time, and I'll have to start
thinking about essays and presentations again.
I wish I could slow down the time I have left here, but as I know that is impossible, I have instead
resolved to make the most of the time I have left here and enjoy every day. Whether I wish for the time
to go faster or slower, nothing will change, so I might as well stop worrying about how long I have left
and enjoy it! That way, when I look back on my year abroad I will never feel like I wasted time by
counting down until the summer

Going to college or getting a job right after graduating high school is the common choices of teens will
likely face. Some likely choose to continue studying at college or university but the others try to find
job. Here are the reasons.
Why is it so important for students to continue on to post-secondary education; university or college?
The reason is that post-secondary education will allow them to get the skills and tools that they will

careers will be open for them to choose from. Employers today will tend to be more open to a person

Almost everyone eats bread daily, especially for breakfast. Bread making is not a complicated task. You
only need flour, water, yeast, sugar, salt, oil, butter, and an oven. Choosing good flour is the step in
making bread. There are two kinds of flour, soft and hard. Hard flour, made of winter wheat, is a better
choice for making bread because it produces bread that has a better texture and taste.
Then, lukewarm water, yeast, sugar and salt are mixed with the flour to make dough. Yeast is a micro-
scopic organism that is capable of producing carbon dioxide. It can make the dough rise or expand.
Both sugar and salt give flavor to the bread so that it tastes nice. They, however, have different effects
on yeast. After that, oil (such as olive oil, corn oil, peanut oil) and butter are added because they are es -
sential to make the bread tender. After mixing the ingredients, the dough is sent to the oven.

PART 1.
He went back to the
consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to
the case.
After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to
him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room.
She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she
looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She began to read the following
words:
“Paid in full with one glass of milk.

The Needle Trees
There were once two brothers who lived at the edge of a forest. The elder brother was very mean to his
younger brother. He ate up all the food and took all his brother’s good clothes. One day, the elder
brother went into the forest to find some firewood to sell in the market. As he went around, chopping
the branches of tree after tree, he came upon a magical tree.
The tree said to him, ‘Oh kind sir, please do not cut my branches. If you spare me, I will give you
golden apples. The elder brother agreed, but was disappointed with the number of apples the tree gave
him. Greed overcame him, and he threatened to cut the entire trunk, if the tree didn’t give him more ap -

near the tree, with hundreds on needles on his body. He rushed to his brother and removed each needle
with painstaking love. After he finished, the elder brother apologized for treating him badly and

Mother’s Day
Julia Ward Howe and Anna Jarvis were the best known pioneers who took up the cause of Mother’s
Day in the United States. Julia Ward Howe’s “Mother’s Day” in 1872 was a call for disarmament by
women. Anna Jarvis, in 1907, organized a day to raise awareness of poor health condition in her
community, a cause she believed would be best advocated by mothers. She called it “Mother’s Work
Day.” In 1914, US President, Woodrow Wilson signed a Joint Declaration. He declared the second
Sunday of May as Mother’s Day, the day to honor motherhood. Today, however, some may think that
the commercial community purposely created Mother’s Day to make some extra money.
Nowadays, this auspicious day has literally become commercial affair. Many people spend their time
buying material gifts for their mothers. In order to sell more products, many restaurants, gift shops, cake
shops and florists usually give special offers on Mother’s Day. Consequently, their cash registers keep
ringing non stop. Obviously, Mother’s Day has become a major profit makes for businesses.
It is important to remember that the reason behind celebrating Mother’s Day is to say thanks to the most
important person in our life – our mother. It is the day to tell her how much we love her and how special
she is for us.
Therefore, instead of merely giving material gifts, giving our mother what she needs and really wants is
more precious. Showing off our love by spending more time with her, for example, will certainly give
us nothing but heartfelt thanks and real gratitude from our mother.

Do you wear sunscreen every day? Sunscreen is in fact the most powerful skincare product you can
have in your collection, making wearing sunscreen every day the single best thing you can do to care for
and protect your skin. There are some reasons why we should wear sunscreen every day
Over time, sun damage can take both an aesthetic and medical toll on the skin. Ultraviolet (UV) light
damages the skin and its underlying connective tissue, leading to the development of wrinkles and lines.
The effects of UV exposure, and sun damage, are cumulative with the full extent of damage not
immediately apparent. Sun exposure can also increase skin cancer risk. Sunscreen is one of the most
effective ways of protecting your skin from the sun.
From those reasons, we should be looking for sun protection. UV levels and peak sun protection time
are often included in local weather forecasts and should be used as a guide of when to avoid being in the
sun.

When you buy something in traditional markets or grocery store, how do you transport the things you
bought to home? Plastic bag is the solution, right? I believe that not many people bring their own cloth
bag from home to use. People who care deeply about environment will tell you that plastic bags have
negative impacts to our planet.
Plastic bags are not biodegradable. It can take hundreds, if not thousands, of years to biodegrade. This
means plastic bags that gets thrown away will stick around for many generations, taking up precious
space in landfills and polluting the environment such as our oceans.
Over the next ten years, the amount of marine plastic waste will double and if we do not act, in 2050 the
oceans will contain more plastic waste than fish by weight.
If you look around you, plastic is everywhere. It is probably impossible to totally eliminate plastic from

bring our own reusable shopping bag.

Why Students Should Eat Breakfast Everyday
A lot of people, especially young people, go through the day without having breakfast. Many people
believe that it is not necessary, or they say that they don’t have time for that, and begin their day with
no meal. I believe that everyone should eat breakfast before going to their activities. The purpose of this
paper is to show the importance of breakfast, especially for students.
The first reason why you should eat breakfast before going to school is for your health. When you skip
breakfast and go to school, you are looking for a disease because it’s not healthy to have an empty
stomach all day long. It’s very important to have a meal and not let your stomach work empty. All you
are going to get is gastritis and a lot of problems with your health if you don’t eat breakfast.
Another reason for eating breakfast is because you need food for to
do well in your classes. You body and your brain are not going to function as good as they could
because you have no energy and no strength. When you try to learn something and have nothing in your
stomach, you are going to have a lot of trouble succeeding. A lot of people think that they should not
eat because they are going to feel tired, but that’s not true. Breakfast is not a very big meal, and on the
contrary, you’re going to feel tired if you don’t have breakfast because you have spent the entire
previous night without food.
The last reason to have breakfast every day is because you can avoid diseases if you eat some breakfast
in the morning. If you don’t eat, you are going to get sick, and these diseases will have a stronger effect
on you because you’re going to get sick easier than people who have breakfast every day.
You have to realize that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and you cannot skip it without
consequences for your health, your school and your defence mechanism. It is better to wake up earlier
and have a good breakfast than run to school without eating anything. It is time for you to do something
for your health, and eating breakfast is the better way to start your day.

ESSAY. Do as the instruction!
Do you agree that music is important in our life? Yes I do, music has certain role completing
our day to day activities. Here are some reasons why music is heard everywhere and anywhere.
Music is a way to express feelings. When we fall in love, the kind of music we’d listen to would
be all about love. When we’re sad, we would go for music that is melancholic in nature and immerse
ourselves in the sadness. When we’re happy, we’d choose songs with happy tunes too.
Song can help people to memorize the last experiences. A favorite song is a powerful
documentary. People with Alzheimer would remember details about songs they were familiar with. For
example, an elderly woman who couldn’t even remember her husband’s name would remember the
details of her favorite song; when it was played, how it made her feel and things about the song that
made it especially memorable for her.
Further, music can unite people and changes the world. A song with good lyric and striking
deep chord can stimulate certain universal feeling of all people. We can see it in the case of the famous
and legendary Michael Jacson’s Heal the World. The song can arouse humanism for a lot of people in
the world.
So what would the world be like without music? It would be lonely.

The government should provide rehabilitation Program for Drug Users
Drug users are actually ill people who need help. Rehabilitation is one of the main things they should
get. Instead of punishing drug users in prisons, the government should provide rehabilitation for them.
Most users are actually victims of persuasive peddlers and they suffer from consuming the drugs.
Therefore, by rehabilitating them, we are actually helping them out from traps, which they might

PLASTIC BAGS SHOULD BE BANNED!
I believe that plastic bags should be banned! Many people would agree that they are unhealthy for our
environment, is damaging our wildlife on land and on sea, and needs to be taken control of.
To begin with, plastic bags are polluting our world, and no one is doing anything to help. These objects
are littering the pathways of many suburban streets, and many other places, such as: beaches, parks, and
some are even found in public lakes and rivers! Plastic bags are a threat to the environment, and should
be shunned by anyone who cares for the environment. They are putting our natural surroundings at risk!
Secondly, why can’t people use green bags? Sure they cost a bit more, but our environment is really
worth saving, Green bags are more Eco-friendly and larger too, so there’s your shopping resolved as
well.

becoming endangered, all because of plastic bags. Imagine, you’re snorkeling , and you see a plastic
bag floating right in front of you. In the water! Dolphins and turtles are the most common victims, not
weary that the shiny thing they just swallowed was a plastic bag!

Plastic bags can last thousands of years in the sea before they break down. Just think how many turtles,
fish, or any other marine life could’ve choked, or even worse, died from those.
