Arms Act, 1959 Section 13(3) (3) The licensing authority shall grant

– (a) a licence under Section 3 where the licence is required- (i) by a citizen

of India in respect of a smooth bore gun having a barrel of not less than

twenty inches in length to be used for protection or sport or in respect of a

muzzle loading gun to be used for bonafide crop protection

S.R.O. 484. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 191 of the Army Act 1950

(XL VI of 1950), and all other powers enabling in this behalf, and in supersession of the

Indian Army Act Rules, and the Army Act, 1950 published with the notifications of the

Government of India in the late Army Department No. 911, dated 3rd November, 1911, and

the Ministry of Defence No. S.R.O, 125 dated 22nd July 1950, respectively, the Central

Government hereby makes the following rules, namely
