What key flexfields are used in Oracle Fusion Inventory Management and are there any special
requirements to set them up?

Solution

There are two separate key flexfields supported in Oracle Fusion Inventory
Management. The key flexfield names are Account Alias Flexfield and Locator
Flexfield. Both of these key flexfields are configured in the Oracle Fusion
Functional Setup Manager. Their respective tasks are Manage Inventory
Account Alias Key Flexfield and Manage Inventory Locator Flexfield.

Prior to using Oracle Fusion Inventory Management, you need to ensure that
all key flexfields have been successfully deployed. In order to validate the
deployment status, you can navigate to the Oracle Fusion Functional Setup
Manager. The Deployment Status and the Deployment Error Message fields
on the Key Flexfield pages can be used to validate the deployment status.

For further information related to key flexfields, please see the Oracle Fusion
Applications Material Management and Logistics Implementation guide.

Why don't the item quantities reported on the Manage Item Quantities page appear as expected?

Solution

The Manage Item Quantities page reflects item quantities stored in three
separate locations:

 On Hand: Material currently residing in a storage subinventory.

 Receiving: Material currently residing in a receiving subinventory.
 Inbound: Material in transit to the warehouse.

It is important to consider the material location when viewing item

quantities. Material residing in a Storage subinventory appears in the On-
Hand material location.A subinventory can also be designated as a Receiving
subinventory type.Material residing in a Receiving subinventory appears in
the Receiving material location. Material can also be in transit to the
warehouse. This type of material is associated with a document such as
purchase order or advance shipment notice. Items of this type are displayed
under the Inbound material location.
It is also important to confirm that transfer transactions performed between
organizations or within an organization are processed successfully.
Otherwise, the material may not be correctly associated with intended
storage location.

How do I start or schedule the Inventory Transaction Manager?

Solution

In Oracle Fusion Inventory Management, there are two separate processes

related to the Inventory Transaction Manager.

The two processes are the Manage Inventory Transaction process (Process
Name: PollTMEssJob) and the Create Transaction process (Process Name:
SingleTMEssJob)

The Manage Inventory Transaction process does not have any input
parameters. This process should be scheduled to run periodically. The
schedule tab allows definition of the frequency to schedule the process. Once
the program is submitted, individual workers can process a maximum of 200
rows each.

The Create Inventory Transaction process can be run independently from the
Manage Inventory Transaction process. The Create Inventory Transaction
process accepts a single parameter which is the transaction header ID. This
process can be run for a single transaction or multiple transactions
associated with the same transaction header ID.

Why is the destination organization unavailable when creating an interorganzation transfer?

Solution

In order to create an interorganziation transfer, you must first create

interorganzation parameters between the two inventory organizations.

Interorganization parameters are defined in the Oracle Fusion Functional

Setup Manager through Manage Interorganization Parameters task.

Once you have defined interorganziation parameters between the inventory

organizations, the destination organization will be available for selection in
the Create Interorganziation Transfer page.

What public APIs are available to create inventory transactions?

Solution
For further information, please see the Oracle Fusion Inventory Management
Transaction Interface document. This document covers the following topics:

 Open Transaction Interface.

 Material Transactions Applications Program Interface.
 Scheduling ESS Transaction Interface Program.

Transactions. (Doc ID 1361820.1)

Why can't users select inventory organization when performing transactions?

Solution

The user must have the appropriate data role to create inventory
transactions in an organization.

For further information and step-by-step instructions on assigning data roles

to users, please see the User and Data Role Creation Steps document as well
