Studying International Economics
Over the last 47 years, the economy of Vietnam has been transiting regularly. As soon as stepping into
powerful global flows, Vietnamese enterprises have faced increasingly competitive markets. For survival,
they are forced to strengthen the competitiveness thoroughly since an attempt to commoditization is far
more difficult as well as the commitment to comply with the general regulation, the demand of
modernization, superiority and value.
In turn, there is almost an imperative to be entrepreneurial to recognize the importance of cooperation,
reaching out for international standards unitedly in order to foster foreign affairs. The shift of global
integration from widening to deepening or the export growth and attracting foreign investment (FDI)
demonstrated that we have been striving to transform ourselves to become a reliable partner and gain
greater benefits in the playing field with other nations of FTA.
Economic exchange continues its course. Consequently, I dreamt of adapting the flow of multi-lateral
mechanisms with a view to becoming a truly global citizen so International Economics best matches my
requirements and needs.
University of Economics and Law (UEL)
Over two decades with the long-run process on the establishment and development, UEL has been
providing professionally modern facilities and institutional frameworks for scholarly activities, especially
the business or financial markets simulation lab. Today, UEL, which includes more than 200 inspiring
and experienced lecturers, the guiding principles, is an open education program, meeting world standard
and application of progressive knowledge to present high-quality curriculum for students.
Undergraduates have many opportunities to intern at corporations or large employers within country and
abroad after having been fostered and developed linguistic capacity, problem-solving faculties, and self-
evaluation.
English-medium instruction
Vietnam is recognized as a country with high level of international economic integration. It has signed
over 14 FTAs with 60 nations since becoming the 150 th member of the WTO in 2007. Therefore,
multilingual communication or at least English is compulsory. English-medium instruction in UEL
provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn English for Business and Economics in order to
not only access to unlimited scholarly materials but also facilitate exchanges with other countries in an
open economy.
Eligibility requirements
In addition to English, as a youth being curious and fiercely passionate about economics and global
integration, I am capable of learning deliberately. I have self-empowering skills and the ability to adapt to
any circumstances to meet the requirements in the constantly evolving economy. While teamwork skills
are my strong point, the abilities to detect, analyze, synthesize, evaluate, and tackle practical issues of
global economy are under development. Besides, creativity, seriousness, discipline and progressive guide
my acquiring-knowledge journey.
Motivation and determinations
Vietnam should be wise in external complicated relations. For instance, the growing trend of imports not
covered by exports owning to the easy importing, inexpensiveness, and the dependence on supply chain
from China made us restricted unfairly. When COIVD outbreaks and border-trade was closed,
manufacturers who had been accustomed to being reliant on raw materials imported from China, were
struggling and subject to scrutiny. At that time, businesses wanted to manage, figure out any way around,
but it was too late and extremely difficult. After all, avoiding partners’ dependency is essential,
developing close ties with overseas should be accompanied with raising inner resources.
Moreover, because the tendency of digital transformation is increasing significantly, the Economic
Evolution and Technological Innovation are positively inseparable. Thus, younger generations should
continuously update, embrace the technology and prepare themselves for Digital Era.
In conclusion, the dynamic and new-found economy along with stable political structure of
Vietnam in today’s increasingly global integration have opened the doors of opportunity for college
students, especially those who major in International Economics. As a result, the currently critical
requirements consist of gaining efficiency, moving up value chains, following to keep pace with the
uncertainty of the market.
