BOUNDARY
Class 5
PRACTICE TIME
• METHOD 1
Length of the kitchen floor = 220 cm
Length of the square tile = 10 cm
So, number of tiles that can be kept along
the length of the floor in one row = 220 ÷ 10
= 22
Width of the floor = 180 cm
Width of the square = 10 cm
So, number of tiles that can be kept along
the width of the floor in one column = 180 ÷ 10= 18
• So total number of tiles needed
to cover the kitchen floor = 22 X 18
= 396
Method 2
Area of the kitchen floor= 220 cm X 180 cm = 39600 sq cm
Area of one tile = 10 cm X10cm = 100sqcm
Total number of tiles needed =
= 396
• Length of the fence =
• That means, perimeter of the garden =
• Therefore length of one side = perimeter ÷ 4
• Length of thin wire=
• So perimeter of the rectangle =
• Width =
• Perimeter = 2 x (L + B)
• length = (perimeter -2B ) ÷ 2
= (20 -8) ÷ 2
= 12 ÷ 2 = 6 cm
• Perimeter of the carrom board =320 cm
• So , one side of the carrom board = 320cm÷4
= 80 cm This Photo by Unknown Author is

So , Area of the carrom board = 80cm x 80 cm
= 6400sq cm
