UPPER PHASE – WEEK 5
13 February 2023
Dear Parents,
RE: WEEK 5
What a productive weekend it was. Six of Baobab learners were invited to the Notwane
Tennis trails. We would like to congratulate those who have been chosen for the next round
which will be held on Friday. We are proud of your efforts. Keep flying the flag high.
ASSEMBLIES
Thank you for all the parents who have come out
to show their support to their learners. It is
amazing to have you all with us during
assemblies. Last week the 7E3s highlighted
“Caring for others -Love” seeing that it is the
month of LOVE.
15February 2023 the STD 6E1s will present. The
parents of the 6E1s are welcome
to join us the morning from 7:25-8:05, we are
looking forward to seeing you.
ICE-CREAM FUNDRAISER
Just a reminder about the STD 7s who are selling ice-creams on Fridays as part of their
fundraiser for their milestone trip in October. We thank you in advance for supporting them.
During the week orders will be taken. It is important that learners pay when they order and on
Fridays, they will receive their ice creams. The ice-creams are being sold at P5 per ice- cream.
Thank you for those who are diligently supporting this venture.
PARENTS WEBINAR
Curro Parents are invited to join the CLSU tonight as they explore the world's second leading
cause of death in youth today: Suicide. Parents, (Click to join) via your child’s TEAMS.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
Learners must make sure that they are always neat and presentable. The learners are our
advertisement to the outside world. They cannot be wearing bright colours – if learners do not
have their size shirts yet as the uniform shop was still waiting on some
goodies from the supplier, please make sure to wear a colour that is close to the
school uniform. Please mark your child’s clothing items and stationer – too many laying around
and unaccounted for. The learners takkies should be white in colour.
I would also like to highlight the strange hairstyles our learners are donning at the moment.
Could we ask that the boys have short hair and stay away from braids and strange styles as
their swimming caps are tearing at a rapid pace. It is imperative that learners adhere to school
rules and instils pride. Girls must have their hair tied back at all times as it is distracting to them
when writing. Thank you for your support in this regard.

SPORTS
All sports and clubs start this week. Learners should pack extra food and water if they are
staying. They are to be picked up at strictly at 16:00 when they have extra-curricular activities.
Parents please be aware of your child’s extra curricula activity. Too many learners are loitering
after school who should be going home. See attached the activity lists and days on which
activities occur.
Baobab will be hosting the TEAM A SWIMMING GALA on Tuesday. All is welcome to come
and support. See you all there.
TUCKSHOP
Just a reminder from the Chill & Grill Tuck-shop. Order from them online to ensure that your
child gets wholesome food.
VALENTINE’S CIVVIES DAY
Reminder that on 14 February 2023 it will be Valentine’s Civvies Day. The P5 will go towards
learning support.
Learners must wear Pink, white and red for the occasion.
