It is commonly believed that nowadays main factors that affect a child's development are
media, pop culture and friends. A different point of view is that family plays the most
significant role.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
It is often held that teachers, peers, and the media have a significant influence on the lives
of children. While some people argue that these factors are predominant in shaping a child's
future, others believe that parents impact their offspring in more critical ways. This essay will
discuss both points of view and argue in favor of the latter.
On one hand, certain factors such as television, friends, and music are assumed to have a
significant influence on children. For instance, news reports on television keep children up to
date on current events around the world. Besides, children can also be inspired by watching
talent shows on television. Apart from television, children spend plenty of time with their friends
and like listening to music. Friendship teaches them how to be supportive and to trust again.
Another advantage of music is that it keeps children calm and focused on their studies.
On the other hand, the family in which a child is raised has a large influence on the
development of his personality. Respect, discipline, and proper behavior can only be taught by
responsible parents. Moreover, by observing their elders, a child learns family traditions and
religious rituals. For example, throughout my childhood, I always followed in the footsteps of
my parents and grandparents in a variety of ways, such as wearing specific clothes for different
occasions and treating my guests with respect. Despite the fact that factors outside of the family
have an impact on a child's development, the family has the greatest potential to transform a
child into a well-behaved adult.
To recapitulate, this essay illustrated that television, friends, and music are all important
factors in a child's development; however, family is the most important of these factors.
Children are facing more pressure nowadays from academic, social and commercial
perspectives. What are the causes of these pressures and what measures should be taken to
reduce these pressures?
Some feel that children now have more responsibilities related to education, society, and
economics. In my opinion, the causes all concern technology and the best countermeasures must
be enacted in concert by governments and parents. This essay will discuss the reason behind
these pressures and the remedies as well.
The primary source of this issue is that children have to compete with other
students for admission. This is to say that, in this highly competitive era, they must work
extremely hard in order to gain admission to prestigious colleges. In addition, parents tend to
force their children to choose academic subjects to impress society. In other words, when they
start university, they usually are pressurized by their parents. For example, a survey of our
neighboring country India found that 20% of children took their own life because they were not
mentally stable due to the study pressure and were afraid of failure and did not want to face
society. In our country there is no available research in this regard, but it is assumed the same
rates as in India.
To address the above-mentioned issue, the government should launch public awareness
campaigns in the media and in schools to educate students and parents. In these programs,
children should be taught to be cooperative rather than competitive. Moreover, rather than
pressuring their children, parents should allow them to make their own career choices. As a
result, children can perform well if they study subjects that they are interested in. Children can
progress in their future. For instance, pressure on children has decreased by 10% after this
similar initiative started in Japan.
To summarize, nowadays, competition among students has increased, and forcing
children to take academic subjects puts pressure on them. It can, however, be addressed by
educating children and parents.
Some people think it would be better for large companies and industries to move to
regional areas outside large urban centers. Do you think the advantage outweigh the
disadvantage?
Big corporations amount to a major chunk in percentages of noise, air and water population in
cities. Some believe that it is better if they relocated to smaller towns. In my opinion, the benefits
of transitioning to smaller villages/towns do not outweigh the negatives.
To start off, it is widely known that major industries are the biggest threat to the echo system
with concerns ranging from causing pollution to dumping waste in water bodies. For instance, a
biscuit factory in Hyderabad is known for unlawfully dumping waste into the lake causing
contamination and eliminating what was left of the marine life in the lake. For this reason, a
popular suggestion was made, where some people believed that moving these big companies into
regional areas would help. In theory, this is a brilliant idea! The lower the companies in cities,
the lower the problems to deal with it.
However, this means the introduction of these big corporations into the areas where there is
considerable greenery and water bodies that are rich in life. With lenient sanctions, it is very
much likely that more damage to the environment is caused as a direct result of this transition.
Therefore, it is not a great move to go through with it.
Finally, moving the big corporations to rural areas is a great plan in theory only, but when we
consider the imminent impacts it has on these areas, it is a move where the merits do not
outweigh the demerits especially if the sanctions on these bigger industries are lenient.
Do social media violate our privacy?
To what extent you agree or disagree this view?
Despite the widespread popularity of social media as a communication platform, it
contravenes its users' privacy. Various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and
Instagram, are responsible for seizing personal information from their users without their
consent. I almost entirely agree with this argument because the addition of Artificial Intelligence
(AI) Support to the aforementioned social networking sites has increased the risk of privacy.
To begin with, social media platforms really would like to know everything about their
users. The ultimate purpose of collecting this data is to maximize profits for their platform.
Facebook, for example, collects data to share with their advertisers and third parties for targeting
in order to promote and advertise their product. In addition, because of their revolve around
people’s information; social media monitors its user activity unlike any other service. Moreover,
users’ data won’t be removed even though users have deleted it. This issue is not only a privacy
concern but also hazardous. Furthermore, their tools are designed to study your behavior. For
instance, it is of course a useful addition to improve the service and have some beneficial impact,
but every tool that they released, whether in the form of software, web tools, apps, or any other,
is designed to study user’s online behaviors. So, cautiousness is necessary.
However, none can deny that it is impossible to give up the use of social media even if
there are security risks. Sizable risks can be avoided if you do not simply click on phishing apps
that appear on social media. Many of the experts ask to use a VPN, which is impossible.
To summarize, social media has an esteem impact on our daily life but due to information
secrecy, security issues, and unauthorized surveillance, it violates our seclusion. I agreed that the
privacy is violating due to mass and uncontrolled use of social networking site.
Some people prefer to work for themselves or own a business. Others prefer to work for an
employer. Would you rather be self-employed, work for someone else, or own a business?
Use specific reasons to explain your choice.
You should write at least 250 words.
Several people choose to be self-employed rather than work for someone else, while others
choose to be professionals or entrepreneurs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, but
in my opinion, being an employee is the best option due to its lower risk.
To begin with, some people have decided to work for themselves. They prefer to do so because
they dislike being governed by company regulations or being governed by any procedures.
Professional actors, athletes, freelancers, and other types of art performers are examples of self-
employed jobs. While others prefer to be an entrepreneur because they believe that by opening a
new business, it brings a lot of benefits for themselves and societies. If the new business runs
smoothly and according to the business plan, the owner should make a lot of money. Then it will
generate job opportunities for the surrounding communities. However, both of these options have
drawbacks. As a self-employed person, there is no guarantee of a sustainable income because
they are paid based on their performance. While it is obvious that there are many risks for a
business owner, such as bad debt, foreign exchange fluctuations, and bankruptcy.
Some people, on the other hand, abhor working as a professional. They believe they have limited
and restricted time, and their workload is sometimes unreasonable. Many people, however, are
unaware that becoming an employee has the lowest risk ever. Despite the fact that their
companies may be performing poorly, they will have a consistent source of income through their
monthly salaries. The company would then provide them with additional benefits such as a
medical allowance, annual leave, and company cars. Finally, businesses contribute to their
employees' retirement funds. As a result, the benefits of working outweighed the drawbacks.
In conclusion, it is a fact that people have different options about work. Some people choose to
open their own business, while others prefer to be self-employed or work in an organization.
After measuring the benefits and drawbacks, I personally prefer to be a professional employee,
since it has the lowest risk.
In recent years, there has been a rise in the popularity of second-hand clothing amongst
younger generations.
Why is this happening?
Do you think it’s a positive or negative development?
Due to the fierce competition in today's society, many people believe that career development is
more important than ever. At the same time, some argue that those who live a fast-paced lifestyle
should slow down and spend more time with family and friends. In this essay, I will stare at both
sides of the argument before reaching a conclusion.
To begin with, there is no doubt that career advancement improves people's living standards and
sense of fulfillment. It is possible to argue that a person who devotes more time to his or her job
seeks a higher financial return. The main reason for this is that financial security is now
extremely important to a family- a household has to not only bear the ever-increasing daily
expenses, but also pay the exorbitant tuition fees of its children. Furthermore, a prestigious job
provides an individual with a sense of accomplishment, including fame and a higher social
status.
Those around, however, consider that individuals should devote more time to their friends and
family because the fast pace of life leads to the disintegration of families and relationships. For
example, parents who pursue money and career are more likely to neglect their children and
family elders; college graduates who seek better job opportunities choose to migrate to
metropolises far from their home.
To summarize, there is no simple solution to this debate. However, we must admit that both
career and family play important roles in our lives. As a result, in order to live a happier life, we
must balance these two factors.
