ART APPRECIATION FINAL PROJECT – Docu-series


Project Title: Interview with an Artist
Description: The final project is a group project that involves interviewing an artist and
presenting the content of that interview in audio-visual format. The project comprises
1/3 of the final grade.

Specific Instructions
1.​ The class shall be divided into groups each of their preference.
2.​ Each group is to choose an art form and look for an artist in the region (Zamboanga
Peninsula) of the chosen art form. The choice can be one of the following:
a.​ Architecture (Urban developer, Local Architect who has contribution to
Zamboanga)
b.​ Music (local pop artist, local musician, or local composer)
c.​ Film (local director, local film makers)
d.​ Literature (local writer of fiction and/or poetry)
e.​ Visual Arts (local painter, sculptor, graphic designers)
f.​ Performance Art (local theater director or writer, local dance choreographer,
performer)
g.​ Fashion (local fashion designer)
h.​ Culinary Arts (Local chef or restaurateur)
3.​ The focus of the interview must be on the artist’s craft, the influence/s in his/her
work, and the impact that his/her art has to local culture and the current generation.
The groups have to create their own interview schedule
4.​ The following is the structure of your interview/feature video: The artist’s journey
(as an artist)
●​ His/her artistic process
●​ The themes and subject matter of his/her art
●​ His/her inspiration and influence
●​ Effect of his/her art to local art and culture
●​ Impact of the artist to the young generation and aspiring artists.
5.​ Creatively organize the content of the interview in a docu-feature video. Create your
own title for the feature. The length of the video would depend on the content but
10-12 minutes will suffice. The groups have the liberty on how to format the content
(creativity is a criterion). Make sure to include a credits section in the final part of
the video and be sure to write the names of the group members.
6.​ The final product will be presented before the class in the last week of class (This is
optional).
7.​ Submission is through a google file drive which will be provided. File name has to be
the title of your video, followed by “Final project”, for example:
BeautyandDesire_FinalProject.
