development for more than 50 years. Due to its proven technical and regional expertise in more than 120
country offices and its strong networking with local structures and actors, GIZ has its focus on develoPPP
projects, which are to receive technical support on the ground and be integrated into local networks.

For the develoPPP Classic ideas competition your company needs to be

 privately owned and profit-oriented and

 registered in the European Union (EU), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) or a country on
the OECD DAC list (https://www.oecd.org/dac/financing-sustainable-development/development-
finance-standards/daclist.htm).

The develoPPP Classic ideas competition takes place four times a year. You can submit your application
documents during the following time windows:

1. Quarter: February 15 to March 31

2. Quarter: May 15 to June 30

3. Quarter: August 15 to September 30

4. Quarter: November 15 to December 31

Consent to the Storage of Personal Data

Data storage

With your consent, you agree that GIZ and DEG Impulse may retain your application information for the
following periods:

 up to twenty (20) years after the termination of the funding contract if a funding contract is
concluded.

 up to twenty (20) years after the rejection of the application if the application is rejected.

The retention serves the following purposes if a funding contract is concluded:

1. Internal evaluation of develoPPP projects throughout the duration of the project to identify best
practices and make them available to future applicants,

2. Reporting on the development effectiveness of the develoPPP programme to the German Ministry
for Economic Cooperation and Development (“BMZ”) throughout the duration of the project,

3. Enabling us to prevent multiple funding.

If an application is rejected, it is retained to allow us - in subsequent funding rounds – to track which


applicants have already submitted a funding application before and for what reasons it was rejected.

Consent can be withdrawn at any time by sending an informal message to [email protected]


(mailto:[email protected]) or [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) with effect
for the future without giving any reasons.

We may then no longer retain your information where it is not subject to any statutory retention
obligations (when a funding contract is concluded, generally up to ten (10) years after termination of the
contract; in the case of rejected applications, generally for the period of the regular limitation period of
three (3) years from the end of the year in which the application was rejected).

The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out up to that point. You can find
further information in our privacy notice (https://oap.developpp.de/data_protection).
