No, a company does not need to act selflessly to be considered socially responsible.
Simply investing in additional equipment for your building to reduce your company's
pollution levels does not automatically equate to being selfless; rather, it reflects a
commitment to compliance. It’s essential to understand that adhering to environmental
laws and regulations is crucial in maintaining a good reputation while also contributing
to the safety and well-being of the community at large. By making these investments,
you not only demonstrate responsibility but also enhance your company’s positive
reputation among customers, investors, and the surrounding environment. Ultimately,
having a high standard when it comes to addressing environmental issues is not only
beneficial for society but also makes your business significantly more attractive to
stakeholders. To ascertain the degree of the company's social responsibility, it is
necessary to closely investigate the reasons for its lobbying efforts.

Managers can be considered ethical when their intentions are closely aligned with the
company's mission and values. When a manager prioritizes the organization's
reputation within the industry, they demonstrate a commitment to ethical practices. This
alignment not only fosters trust among employees but also enhances the overall
integrity of the company. A manager's dedication to maintaining a positive reputation
reflects their responsibility towards the organization's long-term success.
