Hey Christine,
I am writing to you today to discuss the importance of attracting younger members to our credit
union. As you know, the average age of our members is increasing, and we are losing market share to
other financial institutions that are more appealing to younger consumers.
I believe we can attract younger members by focusing on financial planning in our marketing.
Younger people are increasingly interested in financial planning and security and are looking for
financial institutions to help them achieve their financial goals.
I propose creating a marketing campaign highlighting the benefits of financial planning for young
people. We can offer them free financial planning consultations and other resources to help them
get started on their financial journey. We can also target our marketing efforts at college students,
who are a large and growing market for financial planning services.
I know that some of our colleagues are opposed to the idea of investing in marketing to younger
people. They argue that it is a waste of resources. However, this is a short-sighted view. Younger
people are the future of our credit union, and we need to invest in them now if we want to remain
competitive in the years to come.
I have attached some additional information that you may find helpful. It includes a summary of my
research on the financial planning needs of younger consumers and a sample marketing campaign
that we could use to target college students.
I want to schedule a meeting with you to discuss this issue further. I believe we can develop a plan to
attract more younger members to our credit union, and I want your input on how we can best
proceed.
Thank you for your time.
Best,
Haniz

Dear Employees:
I'm writing to you today to share exciting news about a new program that we're launching to help
reduce turnover and improve morale among our early-career employees.
As you know, we have a high turnover rate for new employees. In fact, nearly one in three of our new
employees leaves within the first six months. This is unacceptable. Each time we lose an employee, it
costs us at least $20,000 to hire and train a replacement. It also reflects poorly on the culture of our
organization.
That's why we're launching a new mentoring program for early-career employees. This program will
match experienced employees with new employees to provide guidance, support, and mentorship.
Mentors will help mentees to navigate the challenges of their new job, develop their professional
skills, and build relationships with other employees.
I believe that this mentoring program has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of our
early-career employees. It will help them to feel more comfortable and satisfied at BHCU, and it will
help them to develop the skills and relationships they need to succeed in their careers.
I'm asking for your help to make this program a success. I need you to volunteer to be a mentor. I
know that you are busy, but I believe that this is an important investment in the future of our
organization. Mentoring is a great way to give back to your company and to help develop the next
generation of leaders.
Mentoring will take just three or four hours per month, so it is really not a big commitment. I
guarantee that you will love the opportunity to shape the future of these new employees.
There are two information sessions about the mentoring program:
June 15 from 9 to 10 a.m.
June 16 from 1 to 2 p.m.
Please contact Lily Sanchez by June 12 to express your interest in attending one of these sessions and
to let her know if you are available to be a mentor.
Thank you for your commitment to Better Horizons!
