2. INSTALLATION
1) HF, HP, CHF, CHFP
· For all types (HF,CHF, HP, CHF, CHFP ) fit fluid coupling on motor shaft. as shown on Fig 1.
· For a good mounting lubricate the connection surfaces with oil or antiseizing grease.
in case of hot mounting (not recommended) do not reach a temperature 90˚C, or higher, which causes
irreparable damages to oil seals.
· For all models : after fitting, lock by axial fixing screw item 14(HP) or item 15 (HP) (fig 2)
· For HF,CHF only : lock and peg the driven machine. Position motor to driven machine until gap G
(between half -coupling)(fig 3) reaches the indicated value on the table 1.
check angular alignment by using a straight-edge(fig 3)
· Check angular alignment by using feeler in the gap at four point 90˚ apart.
The errors should not exceed those indicated on table 1.
*Note : the flexible coupling. allows small misalignment but it larger than specified, rubber elements will
suffer
excessive wear

2) HFF,CHFF
․ At HFF & CHFF TYPE, FLANGE COUPLING and FLANGE are installed
at MOTOR side and associated machine as following FIG 1, 2
․ Need to inject the oil or grease to the contact surface for proper
installation.
․ When Shrinkage fitting, you need caution because may occur damage
at FLANGE of FLANGE COUPLING.
․ When Axis alignment, refer to figure (FIG 1-1, 2-1) according to TYPE
Please obey Table 1 which is an absolutely crucial component of
working and life time.

3. INJECTION OF OIL
Type H
1) If Fluid coupling is installed by horizontal,
Arrange mark of carving a seal up to, on you make Coupling rotate.(FIG 3)
2) At first lightly fixed coupling, and open the opposite plug to be pulled out of the air inside the circuit.
And inject oil until it overflows out of the oil inlet.
TABLE 2, 3 represents the amount of oil for each injection point.
3) Recommends lubricating plug screws confidential in order to prevent leakage during operation.
4) Users can select each injection point (0-1-2-3-4), depending on the condition of your use of the coupling.
At maximum injection point (O), fluid coupling by minimum slip can get the maximum efficiency.
But when need a lower starting torque, you reduce oil use.
5) If slip get bigger, unit effectiveness become down and the oil is overheating.
6) When the ambient temperature is low, SAE5W of oil should be used.
7) If Fluid coupling is installed with vertical, refer the amount for injection point at Tabel 3.
Type CH
1) It is possible to limit ratio of 140% even less between starting torque and nominal torque by CH Type.
In general, injection 2 is maximum point at CH type. When you need to adjust the ratio of starting
torque
and nominal torque, fill oil according to directed supply injection point as above 1), 2), 3), 6), 7).
Refer (FIG 4).

4. Operation and maintenance
1) High oil operating temperature can be caused by:
a) Insufficient oil filling.
b) Absorbed power is higher than the motor rated power.
c) High ambient temperature.
d) To frequent starts.
e) Long starting time.
f) Inadequate air ventilation to allow cooling of the coupling.
If coupling is operating in a restricted space adequate venilation apertures should be provided
2) After the first 20 days operation check the filling (this operation must be carried out with cold oil).
Also check the motor and driven machines fixing screw
3) Repeat these checks every 6 months. For the fluid coupling series HF check parallel alignment
to flex coupling. If the rotational movement between the flexible coupling flange is greater than 2˚
the SANG YONG rubber element should be replaced
4) Coupling is supplied with fusible plug at 145˚C 125˚C or 175˚C upon request.
It is suggested that these alternative fusible plugs should be considered for belt conveyors, crushers,
mills, mixers, etc., where continual overload conditions can occur.
If the fusible plug blows at regular intervals in normal service, then checks a to f) in section 1)
should be considered.
5) Oil should be replaced after 4,000 hours operation.
5. DISASSEMBLY.
1) disassemble fixing screws.
2) Screw threaded bar into tapped hole in end of fluid coupling and proceed as indicated in fig. 9
The threaded bar will push the coupling off the motor shaft.
For threaded bar dimension, see table 7.
* Note: After removing the motor from the frame, the coupling is replaced.
