MESSAGE FROM THE WOMAN’S GUILD NATIONAL CHAPLAIN
Receive Christian greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace
to you all.
I thank the Lord together with you for taking us through the year 2022. It was a special
year to the Woman’s Guild fraternity as we marked 100 years since its inception in
1922. I congratulate all the women for their contributions both in the ministry and
during the celebrations.
As we embark into a new century, we need to consider on ways to move this
fellowship to higher levels of service as guided by the 23rd General Assembly theme
“Consider your ways “Haggai 1:5b. In normal circumstances when people have their
success stories, chances are that they want to remain in the celebratory mood of
victory. I urge all the women that even as we look back and talk about what the
Lord has done for us for the last 100 years, we need to forge ahead so that we
may accomplish more for the kingdom. Myles Munroe once said: that the greatest
enemy of progress is your last success, you could become so proud of what
you have already accomplished that you stop moving ahead to what you can
accomplish.
Paul in his letter to the Philippians had all the reasons to put confidence in the flesh
in relation to what he had achieved as stated in Philippians 3 :4 If anyone else
thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised
on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of
Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the Church;
as for legalistic righteousness, faultless. Paul chooses not to dwell so much on
the past for he was yet to attain that which Christ took hold of him and therefore says
Brothers and Sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have to have taken hold of it.
But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.
Like Paul rather than putting so much confidence on your achievements, I urge you
to focus ahead and see the enormous work that awaits you and commit yourselves
to pressing on in order to complete the task. There are still many souls to win, many
needy people to look after and many more women and girls to mentor. We have not
yet obtained but one thing you will do, forget what is behind and press on to win the
prize that awaits you in heaven.
I take this opportunity to wish you a successful guild week and a fruitful year 2023.
May the blessings of God overtake you as you obediently accomplish his will.

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRLADY OF THE NATIONAL WOMAN’S GUILD
BOARD.

Receive Calvary greetings in the name of our lord Jesus Christ.

We give God all the honor and glory for the far he has taken us. We are privileged to
have served another year under his grace and the guidance of the 23rd G.A theme
“Consider our ways. “Our last year’s theme was “1st Samuel 7:12 Ebenezer this
far has the lord helped us “We are grateful for his grace that has brought us this far.
Indeed, God has been gracious to us for the last 100 years since the Woman’s guild
‘Kiama Kia Ngo’ was inaugurated (1922). The greatest challenge to us is what will
we hand over to the next generation? Where do we need to consider our ways when
serving in this ministry? Let’s embark on our original call which is to serve the Lord
diligently.
A lot has happened in terms of growth in membership and spiritual growth in the
Ministry. Our last year’s theme 2022 from1st Samuel 7:12 for sure God has really
helped us to achieve. We have really seen his mighty hand upon us.

This year’s theme is from Philippians 3:12-14. Paul said that his goal was to know
Christ, to be like Christ and to be all Christ had in mind for him. This goal took all
of Paul’s energies. This is a helpful example for us that we should not let anything
take our eyes off our goal. Knowing Christ with the single mindedness of an athlete
in training we must then lay aside everything that entangles us and forsake anything
that may distract us from being effective Christians.
In Philippians 3:13-14 Paul made a decision to forget the past. We all have our low
and high moments at the same time lived in the tension of what we have been and
what we want to be. Because our hope is in Christ, however, we can let go past
guilt and to look forward to what God will help us become. Don’t dwell on your past,
instead, grow in the knowledge of God by deepening your relationship with Christ
knowing that you have been forgiven, then move on to a life of faith and obedience.
Look forward to a fuller and more meaningful life because of your hope in Christ. Let
us all chose to press on towards the goal. May God bless you all

MESSAGE FROM THE WOMAN’S GUILD DIRECTOR

Receive Christian greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Its yet another year that the Lord has given us in order to celebrate his wonderful
deeds in our lives. Last year we marked 100 years since the inception of Woman’s
Guild and the Lord enabled us to celebrate in a great way. This year we are asking
ourselves a very pertinent question, after celebration what next? What do we need
to do so that we can go to the next level both in our relationship and service to God?
Thus, our theme this year is from Philippians 3:14 which is charging us to press on
to the mark because even though we have achieved quite a lot in the last century,
we still have more work ahead of us. As Isaiah 43:19 is encouraging us that Behold
the Lord is doing a great thing and for us to perceive or get hold of it we need to keep
on moving ahead.
The year 2022 was a great year for us and we engaged in the following activities as
indicated below:

100 Days of Prayer and Fasting

In preparation of the 100 years celebrations the women and girls engaged in prayer
and fasting for 100 days beginning 12th February to 22nd May 2022. The guiding
theme was 1 Peter 4:7 The end of all things is near. Therefore, be alert and of
sober mind so that you can pray. We thank God that the prayers were successful
and appreciate all the women who participated in the prayers.

World Day of Prayer.

This was held on the first Friday of March which was 4th March 2022. The theme was
“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” drawn from Jeremiah
29:11. The day was observed by all parishes and was successful. We thank the
parishes who remitted the World Day offering that went a long way in assisting us
purchase the World Day programs that we used this year.

National conference- Mombasa

Last year on 5th -7th April 2022, we held a Woman’s guild national conference at
Wogect Hotel Mombasa with a total of 379 women leaders attending. The conference
was very crucial in the preparation of the 100 years celebration. We thank all the
parishes who supported the ladies to attend the conference.

Girls Mentorship Training
The Woman’s guild board saw the need of engaging in intentional mentorship of girls
with an aim of increasing the membership of girls in the guild in the near future. To
achieve this, we recruited 30 girls across the 5 regions and partnered with T.E.E and
trained them on mentorship and almost all of the mentors are currently mentoring a
number of girls who joined form one this year. I urge the Guild leaders to support this
program and we will reap the fruits in the near future.

100 Years Celebration- 1922-2022

This year we had the privilege of participating in celebrating 100 years since Woman’s
guild began in 1922. This took place on 23rd -29th May 2022.The celebrations were a
success and women and girls went all the way to make the celebrations memorable.
The climax was in Thogoto on 29th May 2022 where we hosted more than 2000 women
amidst other guests. During the service we commissioned 30 mentors, launched the
follower’s manual and also appreciated some of women and the National Chaplains
who served the guild in the past years including the Guild organizers.

Guild mission week

Last year we observed our Guild week from 30th- 5th June guided by the theme
“Ebenezer this far the Lord has helped us” from the book of 1st Samuel 7:12. The
week was successful and the theme ministered to many people. Special thanks to
all women who participated in the Guild week despite the week coming immediately
after the 100 years celebration.

Least coin
Every year after observing the guild week, we receive 50% of the least coin that is
collected from the parishes and submitted at the Head office. The money goes into
paying school fees for the needy children, support the children ministers fund as well
as paying our annual subscription to the International Least coin kitty at the A.A.C.C.
We also deposited Ksh250, 000 in the ministers’ children fund and Ksh200, 000 as
payment for the International least coin.

Girls Sponsorship
In the year 2019 we began a journey of faith and recruited 49 girls and sponsored
their tuition fee in the schools that they were admitted. I am happy to report that out
of the 49 girls, 45 completed their 0-level education last year and below is a summary
of their performance.

This was made possible because of the support we received from parishes of 50%
of the least coin. We are grateful that all of us contributed in making a difference in
these girls’ lives. May God bless you for remaining faithful throughout this journey.

Woman’s Guild Age Limit amendment

During the 2022 GAC that was held in Milele Nairobi, a petition was tabled from
Nakuru East Presbytery seeking to amend the constitution regarding the age limit
for women joining the Woman’s Guild. The same was received and deliberated upon
under Min. 7764 and was resolved the age limit for those joining be removed and
membership be opened to all committed PCEA Christian women and girls. However,
the two-year rule of followership is to be adhered to by all those who are willing to
join Guild.

Launch of the follower’s manual

We now have 2 sets of follower’s manuals that will be of great help to the followers
during their two-year journey. The parish ministers will spearhead the training and
can also source experts to train the followers on the topics provided for in the manual.
Followers can only be commissioned once they are through with the manuals.

Mission
The year we were also able to visit five children’s homes each from our five region
and we gave a donation of Ksh 100,000 each home as an act of mercy. We thank
God for enabling us to touch the lives of those needy children and make them smile.

1. Capacity building for all guild leaders which is happening at region level. We
have already visited Rift valley region as well as Eastern region. The other
regions will be visited as indicated below
• Nairobi Region – 19th & 21st July
• Mt. Kenya Region- 14th -15th September
• Central Region – 4th -6th October
2. Girls Guild &followers Conference which will be on 16th -20th August. More
information about this conference will be shared later.
3. Girls Mentors training on 4th November 2023.
4. On- going recruitment of another class for form one sponsorship.
5. Luncheon with sponsored students and guardians on 9th December 2023
6. Strategic plan implementation of the activities scheduled this year.

Reflection of the Theme: Press On Towards The Goal

Philippians 3:12- 14 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have
already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ
Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet
to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and
straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the
prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

The book of Philippians is the eleventh book of the New Testament, written by Apostle
Paul to the Christian congregation he had established in Philippi. The four chapters
of the book were penned while Paul was in prison in Rome about 62 AD. The central
theme of this book is that even though Christians may face persecution and
danger, their lives as Christians should be consistent with the truth of God in
Jesus who gave himself up in love for their salvation. This book was delivered
to the Church in Philippi by Epaphroditus, a rarely talked about character but played
a key role in biblical history. He is mentioned by Paul twice in the book of Philippians,
(2:25-30) and (4:18) Paul refers to him as a brother, a co-worker and a fellow soldier.
A great lesson to the church today that indeed it is okay to be used of the Lord
without necessarily having much recognition. Epaphroditus is such a great example
for us. He is the link between the Philippi church in delivering financial gift to Paul
in prison and sneaking out this letter to the church in Philippi. Paul summarizes
the central message of the book of Philippians in (4:12-13). He writes that he finds
great joy and contentment in Christ’s service, whether in want or in plenty. He labors
to point to the Christians in Philippi that by centering their lives on Christ, they, too,
might live in true joy.

Our reading in this book is Chapter 4 verses 12–14, under the theme; ‘Press on
towards the Goal’. Paul is writing to his audience of what he is doing in light of
the incompleteness of his spiritual journey. He is cognizant of the fact that he had
not gotten there yet. Though being an apostle, he was also human with all possible
shortcomings and needed to keep his focus on the goal. He uses the language from
the world of war and athletics and emphasizes the strenuous nature of his efforts to
fulfill his vocation. In verse 12 he says that he presses on to take hold of the goal,
choosing a pair of words that could, in military contexts, refer to the pursuit of one
army by another. Together the two terms connote a single-minded attempt to reach
a particular goal. Its therefore not a press of a button in our simple understanding but
a gruesome effort and commitment to maintain a standard. The Christian call to
press on towards the precious goal of honoring Christ is not a simple matter. It’s not
only a determination fueled by the knowledge of what Jesus has achieved for us at
the cross of Calvary but also a new way of life which is Christian worship. Here lay
a constant reminder to the woman’s guild fraternity this season, that many things
are important but one surpasses all others. That is an intention commitment, a
life time effort and a purposeful focus on the goal that is to honor Christ. Press
continuously towards that goal!

Paul’s goal is to reach “that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” Paul vigorously
pursues the knowledge of Christ, his sufferings, his resurrection power, and union
with him at the final day because on the road to Damascus, Christ took hold of him
(Acts 9:1–19; 22:3–16; 26:9–18). He implies that, if that event had not taken place,
Paul might still be busy “persecuting the church” (Phil. 3:6) instead of pressing on
toward the goal to honor Christ. Even more expressive of the difficulty of Paul’s
exertion to reach these goals is the athletic imagery in verses 12–14. Like a runner
who knows that a backward glance at ground already covered will only slow his
progress toward the finish, Paul says that he forgets what is behind and stretches
out toward what is ahead, so that he might complete the race and win the prize.

Prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament (Isaiah 43:15-19) when the children of Israel
were in Babylonian captivity had a similar message to them many years before Paul
pens this letter. Prophet Isaiah in his prophecy tell them, Forget the former things,
do not dwell on the past. See! I am doing a new thing. Do you not perceive it? The
people of Israel had past success and failures, but that was not important at his
point. What was important is that Yahweh, the covenant God had a greater goal for
them they needed to perceive/focus on that. Like Paul to the Church in Philippi they

needed to press towards the goal. The emphasis Paul is making is that he refuses
to rest on his past successes but presses on toward that day when he will not only
see Jesus in Glory but also present the Philippians and his other congregations
blameless to Christ. This is another great lesson for us today. The just concluded
centennial celebrations for the woman’s guild is a great success, but there’s more to
achieve. Do we thirst in anticipation to that glorious day when we shall see Jesus
having overcome the struggles and atrocities of this sinful world? And do we make
effort to see those under our spiritual care continue to make progress “pressing on
towards the goal” which is honoring Christ Jesus?

What is this goal/prize that Paul focuses on? Paul looks forward to the ultimate
reward for his faithful service. This prize is to be with Christ. The “prize” is related
to the effort he put into working out his relationship with Jesus over his lifetime that
results in a Heavenly prize. (1 Corinthians 9:23-25) Like Paul, we are to focus on this
very prize. Just like an athlete keeps his/her eyes on the finishing line to receive the
reward, so should we. It’s never about past glories and achievements. Its everything
about the race at hand which is to honor Christ.

In conclusion, even though Christians may face persecution and danger or achieve
great success and recognition, their lives as Christians should always be consistent
with the truth of God in Jesus who gave himself up in love for their salvation. The way
towards that end is realizing we do not belong to ourselves. There is a great prize
that has been paid and in that we are called to respond by pressing on, which is our
commitment and effort to honor Jesus Christ.

SUNDAY 28th May 2023: Official launch of the womans guild week at Kirk TV 8.00pm

MONDAY 29th May 2023: Woman’s Guild members to gather in the Church and hold
collective prayers for families, church, nation, guild work and any other. Plan for the
week ahead.
WEDNESDAY 31st May 2023: Tree planting day for all women as we join our Church
in fulfilling the promise of planting 10 million trees. After planting the trees kindly
download the Jaza Miti App and fill in the number of trees planted for them to be
included in the 10 million bracket.

THURSDAY 1st June 2023: A Day to visit those in need, encourage and pray with
them and support them financially. (Acts of Mercy)

Kama Paulo badala ya kuweka imani sana juu ya mafanikio yako, ninakusihi
kuzingatia mbele na kuona kazi kubwa inayowangoja na kujituma kuendelea ili
kukamilisha kazi. Bado kuna roho nyingi za kushinda, kuwatunza wanawake na
wasichana wengi zaidi kuwashauri. Hatujapata bado lakini jambo moja utafanya,
sahau yaliyo nyuma na bonyeza juu ya kushinda tuzo linalokungoja mbinguni.
Nachukua fursa hii kuwatakia wiki njema ya chama na mwaka wenye mafanikio 2023.
Baraka za Mungu na zikufikie unapotimiza mapenzi yake kwa utii.

Samweli 7:12 Ebenezeri hii Bwana ametusaidia sana “Tunashukuru kwa neema yake
iliyotufikisha hapa tulipo. Hakika, Mungu amekuwa na neema kwetu kwa miaka
100 iliyopita tangu chama cha Mwanamke ‘Kiama Kia Ngo’ kilizinduliwa (1922).
Changamoto kubwa kwetu ni nini tunakabidhi kwa kizazi kijacho? Ni wapi tunahitaji
kuzingatia njia zetu wakati tunapotumika katika huduma hii? Wacha tuanze wito
wetu wa asili ambao ni kumtumikia Bwana kwa bidii.
Mengi yametokea katika ukuaji wa ushirika na ukuaji wa kiroho katika huduma
Kaulimbiu yetu ya mwaka jana 2022 kutoka 1 Samweli 7:12 kwa hakika Mungu
alituwezesha. Hakika tumeuona mkono wake wenye nguvu juu yetu. Mada ya
mwaka huu inatoka Wafilipi 3:12-14. Paulo alisema kwamba lengo lake lilikuwa
kujua Kristo, kuwa kama Kristo na kuwa yote ambayo Kristo alikuwa nayo akilini kwa
ajili yake. Lengo hili lilichukua yote ya nguvu za Paulo. Huu ni mfano mzuri kwetu
kwamba hatupaswi kuruhusu chochote kuondoa macho yetu kwenye lengo letu.
Kumjua Kristo kwa nia moja ya mwanariadha katika mafunzo ni lazima basi
tuweke kando kila kitu kinachotuzinga na kuacha chochote kinachoweza
kutukengeusha tusiwe Wakristo wenye matokeo.
Katika Wafilipi 3:13-14 Paulo alifanya uamuzi wa kusahau yaliyopita. Sisi sote tuna
wakati wa chini na wa juu wakati huo huo uliishi katika mvutano wa kile tumekuwa
na kile tunachotaka kuwa. Kwa sababu tumaini letu liko kwa Kristo, hata hivyo,
tunaweza kuacha kupita hatia na kutazamia kile ambacho Mungu atatusaidia
kuwa. Usizingatie maisha yako ya zamani, badala yake, ukue katika ujuzi wa
Mungu kwa kuimarisha uhusiano wako na Kristo ukijua kuwa umesamehewa, basi
endelea na maisha ya imani na utii.
Tazamia maisha kamili na yenye maana zaidi kwa sababu ya tumaini lako katika
Kristo. Hebu sote tuchague kushinikiza kuelekea lengo. Mungu awabariki nyote
mnapohudumu.

UJUMBE KUTOKA KWA MKURUGENZI

Pokea salamu za Kikristo katika jina la Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo.

Ni mwaka mwingine tena ambao Bwana ametupa ili kusherehekea maajabu yake na
matendo katika maisha yetu. Mwaka jana tuliadhimisha miaka 100 tangu
kuanzishwa kwa Chama na Bwana alituwezesha kusherehekea kwa njia kuu.
Mwaka huu tunauliza sisi wenyewe swali muhimu sana, baada ya sherehe nini
baadaye? Tunahitaji nini kufanya hivyo ili tuweze kwenda kwenye ngazi
inayofuata katika uhusiano na utumishi wetu kwa Mungu? Kwa hivyo, mada yetu ya
mwaka huu inatoka katika Wafilipi 3:14 ambayo inatuhimiza kuendelea kwa
alama kwa sababu ingawa tumepata mengi katika karne iliyopita,bado tuna kazi zaidi
mbele yetu. Kama vile Isaya 43:19 inavyotutia moyo kwamba “Tazama Bwana
anafanya jambo kubwa na ili sisi tutambue au tushike tunapaswa kushika kwa kusonga
mbele”.
Mwaka 2022 ulikuwa mwaka mzuri kwetu na tulijishughulisha na shughuli
zifuatazo kama ilivyoonyeshwa hapa chini:

Siku 100 za Maombi na Kufunga

Katika maandalizi ya sherehe za miaka 100 wanawake na wasichana walishiriki
katika maombi na kufunga kwa siku 100 kuanzia tarehe 12 Februari hadi 22 Mei
2022. Mada ilikuwa 1 Petro 4:7 Mwisho wa mambo yote umekaribia. Kwa hiyo, kuwa
macho na ya akili timamu ili uweze kuomba. Tunamshukuru Mungu kwamba
maombi yalifanikiwa na kuwashukuru wanawake wote walioshiriki katika sala.

Siku ya Maombi Duniani.

Hii ilifanyika Ijumaa ya kwanza ya Machi ambayo ilikuwa tarehe 4 Machi 2022.
Mada ilikuwa “Kwa maana ninajua mipango niliyo nayo kwa ajili yenu, asema BWANA,
“mipango ya kuwafanikisha wala si kwa kuwadhuru, mipango ya kuwapa ninyi
tumaini na wakati ujao” kutoka kwa Yeremia 29:11. Siku hiyo iliadhimishwa na
parokia zote na ilifanikiwa. TunashukuruParokia ambao walitoa sadaka ya Siku ya
Dunia iliyosaidia sana kununua programu za Siku ya Dunia ambazo tulitumia
mwaka huu.

Kongamano la kitaifa- Mombasa

Mwaka jana tarehe 5 -7 Aprili 2022, tulifanya mkutano wa kitaifa wa chama cha
Wanawake huko Wogect Hotel Mombasa Jumla ya viongozi wanawake 379
walihudhuria. Mkutano huo ulikuwa muhimu sana katika maandalizi ya sherehe ya
miaka 100. Tunawashukuru wote parokia waliounga mkono akina mama
kuhudhuria mkutano huo.

Mafunzo ya Ushauri kwa Wasichana
Bodi ya chama cha Wanawake iliona haja ya kujihusisha na ushauri wa
kimakusudi wa wasichana kwa lengo la kuongeza uanachama wa wasichana
katika chama katika siku za usoni. Kwa kufikia hili, tulichukua wasichana 30 katika
mikoa 5 na kushirikiana na T.E.E tuliwafunza juu ya ushauri na karibu washauri
wote kwa sasa wanashauri idadi ya wasichana waliojiunga na kidato cha kwanza
mwaka huu. Nawaomba viongozi wa Chama kuunga mpango na tutavuna
matunda siku za usoni.
Sherehe ya Miaka 100- 1922-2022
Mwaka huu tulipata fursa ya kushiriki katika kuadhimisha miaka 100 tangu
kuanzishwa kwa chama mwaka 1922. Hii ilifanyika tarehe 23 -29 Mei 2022.
Sherehe hizo zilikuwa za mafanikio na wanawake na wasichana walienda njia zote
kufanya sherehe za kukumbukwa.
Kilele kilikuwa Thogoto tarehe 29 Mei 2022 ambapo tulikaribisha zaidi ya
wanawake 2000 miongoni mwa wageni wengine. Wakati wa huduma tulipata
washauri 30, tukazindua mwongozo wa wafuasi na pia kuthamini baadhi ya
wanawake na Makasisi wa Kitaifa ambao walitumikia chama katika miaka iliyopita
ikiwa ni pamoja na waandaaji wa Chama.
Wiki ya misheni ya chama
Mwaka jana tuliadhimisha wiki yetu ya Chama kuanzia tarehe 30-5 Juni
tukiongozwa na mada “Ebenezeri mpaka sasa Bwana ametusaidia” kutoka katika
kitabu cha 1 Samweli 7:12. Juma lilifanikiwa na mada ilihudumia watu wengi.
Shukrani za pekee kwa wanawake wote walioshiriki wiki ya Chama licha ya wiki kuja
mara moja baada ya sherehe za miaka 100.
Sarafu ndogo
Kila mwaka baada ya kutazama wiki ya chama, tunapokea 50% ya sarafu ndogo
zaidi zilizokusanywa kutoka parokiani na kuwasilishwa Makao Makuu. Pesa
hutumika kulipa ada ya shule kwa watoto wenye uhitaji, kusaidia watoto wa
wachungaji walioaga pia tunapolipa usajili wetu wa kila mwaka wa sarafu ya
kimataifa ya A.A.C.C.
Pia tuliweka Ksh250, 000 katika hazina ya watoto wa wachungaji na Ksh. 200,000
kama malipo ya sarafu ndogo ya Kimataifa.
Udhamini wa Wasichana
Katika mwaka wa 2019 tulianza safari ya imani na kupata wasichana 49 na
kufadhiliwa ada yao ya masomo katika shule walizokubaliwa. Nina furaha kuripoti hilo
kati ya wasichana 49, 45 walimaliza elimu yao ya kidato cha nne mwaka jana na chini
ni muhtasari ya utendaji wao.

Hili liliwezekana kwa sababu ya msaada tuliopokea kutoka kwa parokia wa

aslimia 50 ya sarafu ndogo zaidi. Tunashukuru kwamba sote tulichangia katika
kuleta mabadiliko katika maisha ya wasichana hawa. Mungu akubariki kwa
kuendelea kuwa mwaminifu katika safari hii yote.

Marekebisho ya Kikomo cha Umri wa Chama cha Wanawake

Wakati wa GAC ya 2022 ambayo ilifanyika Milele Nairobi, ombi liliwasilishwa
kutoka Presbitari ya Nakuru Mashariki inayotaka kurekebisha katiba kuhusu
ukomo wa umri kwa wanawake wanaojiunga na Chama cha Wanawake. Vivyo
hivyo ilipokelewa na kujadiliwa chini ya Min. 7764 na kukubaliwa kikomo cha
umri kwa wanaojiunga kuondolewa na uanachama ufunguliwe kwa wanawake na
wasichana wote wa Kikristo wa PCEA. Hata hivyo, sheria ya miaka miwili ya ufuasi
inapaswa kuzingatiwa na wale wote ambao wako tayari kujiunga na Chama.

Uzinduzi wa mwongozo wa mfuasi

Sasa tuna seti 2 za miongozo ya wafuasi ambayo itakuwa ya msaada mkubwa kwa
wafuasi katika safari yao ya miaka miwili. Wahudumu wa parokia
wataongoza mafunzo na wanaweza pia kupata wataalam wa kuwafunza
wafuasi juu ya mada zilizotolewa katika mwongozo. Wafuasi wanaweza tu
kutumwa mara tu wanapomaliza miongozo.

Misheni
Mwaka huo pia tuliweza kutembelea nyumba tano za watoto kila moja kutoka
mikoa yetu mitano na tulitoa mchango wa Ksh 100,000 kila nyumba kama tendo la
rehema. Tunashukuru Mungu kwa kutuwezesha kugusa maisha ya watoto hao
wahitaji na kuwafanya watabasamu

1. Kujenga uwezo kwa viongozi wote wa chama unaofanyika katika ngazi ya
mkoa. Sisi tayari tumetembelea eneo la Rift valley pamoja na eneo la

Tafakari ya MAUDUI - Jikaze kuelekea kwenye Lengo

Wafilipi 3:12-14 Si kwamba nimekwisha kupata haya yote, au nimekwisha kuwa

nayo tayari nimefika kwenye lengo langu, lakini nakaza mwendo ili nipate kulishika lile
ambalo kwa ajili yake Kristo Yesu alinishika. 13 Akina ndugu na dada, sijifikirii
mwenyewe bado kuishikilia. Lakini jambo moja ninalofanya: Kusahau yaliyo
nyuma na 14 nakaza mwendo kuelekea lengo nipate kushinda tuzo ambalo
Mungu aliniitia mbinguni katika Kristo Yesu.
Kitabu cha Wafilipi ni kitabu cha kumi na moja cha Agano Jipya, kilichoandikwa na
Mtume Paulo kwa kutaniko la Kikristo alilokuwa ameanzisha huko Filipi. Sura nne za
kitabu ziliandikwa wakati Paulo alipokuwa gerezani huko Roma yapata 62 AD. Mada
kuu ya kitabu hiki ni kwamba ingawa Wakristo wanaweza kukumbana na mateso na
hatari, maisha yao kama Wakristo yanapaswa kuendana na ukweli wa Mungu katika
Yesu ambaye alijitoa kwa upendo kwa ajili ya wokovu wao. Kitabu hiki kilitolewa kwa
Kanisa la Filipi na Epafrodito, ambaye hakuzungumzwa sana juu ya tabia lakini
alicheza jukumu muhimu katika historia ya Biblia. Anatajwa na Paulo mara mbili
katika kitabu cha Wafilipi, (2:25-30) na ( 4:18 ) Paulo anamrejezea kuwa
ndugu, mfanyakazi mwenza na askari-jeshi mwenzake.
Somo kubwa kwa kanisa la leo ni sawa kutumika na Bwana bila ya lazima kuwa na
kutambuliwa sana. Epafrodito ni mfano mzuri sana kwa ajili yetu. Yeye ndiye
kiungo kati ya kanisa la Filipi katika kupeleka zawadi za kifedha kwa Paulo
gerezani na kuficha barua hii kwa kanisa la Filipi. Paulo anafupisha ujumbe mkuu wa
kitabu cha Wafilipi katika (4:12-13). Anaandika kwamba anapata furaha kuu na
kutosheka katika huduma ya Kristo, iwe katika uhitaji au kushiba. Anafanya kazi
kuwaonyesha Wakristo wa Filipi kwamba kwa kuyaweka maisha yao kwa Kristo,
wao pia, wanaweza kuishi kwa furaha ya kweli.

 Usomaji wetu katika kitabu hiki ni Sura ya 4 mistari 12–14, chini ya mada;
'Jikaze kuelekea kwenye Lengo'. Paulo anaandikia wasikilizaji wake kile
anachofanya kwa kuzingatia kutokamilika kwa safari yake ya kiroho.
Anafahamu ukweli aliokuwa nao bado haijafika hapo. Ingawa alikuwa
mtume, pia alikuwa mwanadamu na yote yawezekanayo mapungufu na
inahitajika kuweka umakini wake kwenye lengo. Anatumia lugha kutoka
ulimwengu wa vita na riadha na kusisitiza hali ya bidii ya juhudi zake kutimiza
wito wake. Katika mstari wa 12 anasema kwamba anakaza mwendo ili kushika
lengo, kuchagua jozi ya maneno ambayo inaweza, katika mazingira ya kijeshi,
kutaja harakati ya moja jeshi kwa mwingine. Kwa pamoja maneno haya
mawili yanajumuisha jaribio la nia moja la kufikia lengo fulani. Kwa hivyo sio
kubonyeza kitufe katika ufahamu wetu rahisi lakini juhudi zaidi na kujitolea
kudumisha kiwango. Wito wa Kikristo kwa kusonga mbele kuelekea lengo la
thamani la kumheshimu Kristo si jambo rahisi. Sio ni azimio tu linalochochewa na
ujuzi wa kile ambacho Yesu amefanikisha kwa ajili yetu msalaba wa Kalvari
lakini pia njia mpya ya maisha ambayo ni ibada ya Kikristo.
Hapa upo ukumbusho wa mara kwa mara kwa udugu wa chama cha mwanamke
msimu huu, kwamba mambo mengi ni muhimu lakini moja inapita nyingine zote. Hiyo
ni ahadi ya nia, juhudi za muda wa maisha na kuzingatia kwa makusudi lengo
ambalo ni kumheshimu Kristo.
Jikaze kuelekea kwenye Lengo hilo!
Lengo la Paulo ni kufikia “kile ambacho kwa ajili yake Kristo Yesu alinishika.”
Paulo kwa nguvu anafuata maarifa ya Kristo, mateso yake, nguvu zake za
ufufuo, na muungano pamoja naye siku ya mwisho kwa sababu katika njia ya
kwenda Damasko, Kristo alimshika ( Matendo 9:1–19; 22:3–16; 26:9–18 ).
Anamaanisha kwamba, kama tukio hilo lisingefanyika, Paulo anaweza kuwa
bado anashughulika na “kulitesa kanisa” (Flp. 3:6) badala ya kuendelea
kuelekea lengo la kumheshimu Kristo. Inadhihirisha zaidi ugumu wa Paulo
juhudi ya kufikia malengo haya ni taswira ya riadha katika mistari 12–14. Kama
mkimbiaji ambaye anajua kwamba mtazamo wa nyuma kwenye ardhi tayari
umefunikwa utapunguza kasi yake akiendelea kuelekea umaliziaji, Paulo
asema kwamba anasahau yaliyo nyuma na kujinyoosha nje kuelekea kile kilicho
mbele, ili aweze kukamilisha mbio na kushinda tuzo.
Nabii Isaya katika Agano la Kale (Isaya 43:15-19) wakati wana wa Israeli
walikuwa katika utekwa wa Babiloni walikuwa na ujumbe kama huo kwao miaka
mingi kabla ya Paulo kalamu barua hii. Nabii Isaya katika unabii wake
awaambie, Yasahauni mambo ya kwanza; usizingatie yaliyopita. Tazama!
Ninafanya jambo jipya. Je, hamuoni?

Watu wa Israeli walikuwa na mafanikio na kushindwa zamani, lakini hilo
halikuwa muhimu kwake hatua. Kilichokuwa muhimu ni kwamba Yehova, agano la
Mungu lilikuwa na lengo kuu zaidi walihitaji kutambua/kuzingatia hilo. Kama Paulo
kwa Kanisa la Filipi walihitajika kushinikiza kuelekea lengo.

Msisitizo ambao Paulo anaweka ni kwamba anakataa kupumzika juu ya mafanikio yake
ya zamani lakini anakaza mwendo kuelekea siku ambayo yeye si tu kumwona
Yesu katika Utukufu lakini pia awawasilishe Wafilipi na makutaniko yake mengine bila
lawama kwa Kristo. Hili ni somo jingine kubwa kwetu leo. Maadhimisho ya hivi punde
yamiaka mia moja kwa chama cha wanawake ni mafanikio makubwa, lakini kuna
zaidi kufikia. Je, tuna kiu kwa kutarajia siku hiyo tukufu tutakapomwona Yesu baada
ya kushinda mapambano na ukatili wa ulimwengu huu wenye dhambi? Na
tunatengeneza jitihada za kuona wale walio chini ya uangalizi wetu wa kiroho
wakiendelea kufanya maendeleo “wakisonga mbele kuelekea lengo” ambalo ni
kumheshimu Kristo Yesu.

Je, ni lengo/zawadi gani hii ambayo Paulo anazingatia? Paulo anatazamia

mwisho malipo kwa ajili ya utumishi wake mwaminifu. Tuzo hii ni kuwa pamoja na
Kristo. "Tuzo" inahusiana na juhudi alizoweka katika kufanyia kazi uhusiano wake na
Yesu katika maisha yake hayo matokeo katika tuzo ya Mbinguni. ( 1 Wakorintho
9:23-25 ) Kama Paulo, tunapaswa kukazia fikira jambo hilo la tuzo sana.

Kama vile mwanariadha anavyoweka macho yake kwenye mstari wa kumalizia

kupokea malipo, nasi tunapaswa. Kamwe haihusu utukufu na mafanikio
yaliyopita. Ni kila kitu kuhusu mbio zilizo karibu ambazo ni za kumheshimu Kristo. Kwa
kumalizia, ingawa Wakristo wanaweza kukabiliana na mateso na hatari au kufikia
mafanikio makubwa na kutambuliwa, maisha yao kama Wakristo yanapaswa
kuwa thabiti kila wakati pamoja na ukweli wa Mungu katika Yesu ambaye alijitoa
kwa upendo kwa ajili ya wokovu wao. Njia kuelekea mwisho huo ni kutambua kwamba
sisi si mali yetu. Kuna tuzo kubwa ambayo yamelipwa na katika hilo tunaitwa kujibu
kwa kushinikiza, ambayo ni yetu kujitolea na jitihada za kumheshimu Yesu Kristo?

NAKAZANA

1. Wakristo sio kwamba tumeshafika ,

Hatujakamilisha malengo yetu ,
bali tunazidi kukaza mwendo,
Ili tufikie lengo la kristo.

Nakazana nifikie ushindi,
Ili mimi nipate thawabu,
Ambayo Mungu ameniitia,
Nikiwa ndani yake Yesu kristo.

2. Bado hatujafikia thawabu,

Ila tunatenda Jambo Moja tu,
Tusahau, yalopita tujikaze,
Tupate ushindi ndani ya yesu.

3. Mungu afanyae njia baharini,

Anasema Hivi sikilizeni,
Mimi nilipiga jeshi la farao,
Nikawafunika kama utambi.

4. Msiyakumbuke mambo ya zamani,

Na kuyatafakari yalopita,
Nitatenda jambo jipya mtaona,
Ili Neno langu kwenu litimie
