Rows and columns: A spreadsheet divided into these

A cell: What a box on a spreadsheet is called


Relative cell reference: A type of cell reference that changes when it is
copied to another cell
Absolute cell reference: A type of cell reference stay stays the same
when it is copied to another cell
A function: A pre-programmed formula to perform longer or more
complex calculations
SUM: The function used to add up the values in a range of cells
MIN: The function used to find the smallest value in a range of cells
IF: A function used to make choices
COUNTA: A function that counts the number of cells in a range that
contain a value
Conditional formatting: Something used to alter the appearance of a
cell depending on the value it contains
Pie chart: A chart used to show the individual parts that make up a
whole
Goal Seek: A tool that allows you to see how changing one value in a
formula affects another
