PNMSj Features and Benefits
Any Platform Free from OS limitations, PNMSj runs on either Windows or UNIX. PNMSj is based on SNMP Manager/Agent Technology
Network View Any Client PNMSj clients are able to monitor and control NEs using most Web browsers (IE, Netscape, etc.). Remote NEs can be accessed using either PPP serial interface or LAN interface.
NECs PASOLINK Network Management System (Java version) provide
Hierarchical
Advanced Event/Alarm Management NE List; Event Log; Event Log History; Active Alarm; Alarm Panel; Alarm History; Filter Setting; Severity Setting; Search Enhanced Performance Management Conforms to ITU-T G.826 recommendation Scheduled or on-demand uploads Presents results in report or chart format Threshold settings and alerts Flexible Security Management Setting changes are recorded in a log with the users name. Multi-level user groups Functions and NEs can be defined for each user group. User-friendly Configuration Management Automatic creation and easy modification of network configuration data using Network Configuration Tool Intuitive GUI (Graphical User Interface) simplifies configuration and control of link-related parameters, maintenance operation functions and auxiliary I/O. Changes to the network configuration made by an operator are recorded as PNMSj Log. (These include Log-in, Alarm Ack, PMC/CTRL Soft Download, Upload / Download to PMC, and Network Configuration file Import.) PNMTj Features and Benefits
NECs PASOLINK Network Management Terminal Java version enables local/remote equipment maintenance via a mobile terminal such as a laptop PC. The PNMTj can be connected to any PASOLINK family NE from any location in the network. The selected NE can then be monitored and controlled in the same manner as a PNMSj Link Summary window.

Typical System Configurations
q Hierarchical Network View Facilitates navigation through the hierarchical levels (root sub map link summary [equipment/units]) w Network Map The managed network is shown graphically in a map view window, using colored icons to indicate status. e Event Log display Current events in the managed network are color-coded and displayed in the Event Log window. r Link Summary display In addition to the selected NE, the facing NE is also displayed, for easier, more efficient troubleshooting and maintenance. In addition to the selected NE, the facing NE is also displayed, making troubleshooting and maintenance much easier and more efficient. t Active Alarm display All active alarms in a managed network can be displayed. y Alarm Information Shows the total number of current active alarms (Not Ack and Total) in each category at the top of the main window and in the Alarm Information window, by group for each NE. u Alarm History display Enables display of a list of recent alarms, including occurrence and recovery time stamps for each alarm. i Alarm/Event Filter display Alarms/events can be filtered based on time period, event status, NE name and alarm/event item for display in both the Alarm History and Event Log History windows. o Total Alarm The total count of current active alarms (Not Ack and Total) in each category is shown at the top of the main window. !0 NE List Enables diplay of NE Name, Equipment Type, Opposite NE Name and IP Address information for all managed NEs in a group. !1 Search display Enables search by NE Name, Equipment Type, Opposite NE Name and IP Address.
