5 Installation
5.1 Requirements for evolo components
Use of Wireless Gateway 90 42-K7 affects the evolo components of existing wireless sites.
There are different possible scenarios:
• Replacing a 90 42-K5 with a 90 42-K7
• Extending an existing 90 42-K5 site with 90 42-K7
It is absolutely required that the evolo components are updated to at least version 42.36, as
otherwise 90 42-K7 is not supported!
The wireless extender firmware cannot be updated on site. In the case of existing systems,
wireless extenders with old firmware must be replaced with wireless extenders with
compatible firmware.
The signal strength is measured with the wireless site survey tool. The procedure is described
in detail in the wireless planning guidelines.
If a sufficient signal strength is not measured at the wireless component, the following
remedial options are available:
• Changing the assembly location of the gateway.
• Extending the wireless network using wireless extenders.
Before the wall mounting, ensure that the wireless components can be reached wirelessly.
2 slotted holes are provided on the back of the device for fastening purposes (see arrows).
The housing is fastened to the wall using suitable fastening material (screws/dowels).
