The lesson plan for Science V focuses on teaching students about conductors and insulators of heat, aiming for them to identify materials that fall into each category and appreciate their importance. Activities include group experiments, discussions, and evaluations to reinforce learning objectives. The plan integrates various teaching methods and materials to engage students actively in the learning process.

Lesson Plan in Science V
‘Third Quarter
|. objectives:
‘A. Content Standard:
‘The learners demonstrate the effects of heat and electricity, light and sound on people and
objects.
B. Performance Standard:
The learners should be able to classify objects as conductors or insulators.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify materials that are conductors and insulators of heat.
2. Participate actively in group activities and class discussions.
3, Appreciate the importance of conductors and insulators.
UI, Subject Matte
Conductors and Insulators of Heat
‘A. Science Concept:
Conductors are materials that can transfer heat ea
Insulators are materials that do not allow heat or flow through them.
B. References:
K-12 Curriculum Guide, Science Beyond Borders V Textbook pages 135-139,
pages 239-243
C Materials: Metal spoon, plastic spoon, ceramic cup, aluminum strips, drinking straw, stone,
cardboard, key, Styrofoam, metal fork, eraser, bowl, hot water, wool, concrete nail, coin, aluminum
strip, wood, paper, tong, rubber band, ruler, crayon, nail cutter, padlock, activity cards, black board,
TV Monitor, Laptop, Manila paper
D. Subject Integrated:
English
Process Skills:
Observing, Describing, Communicating
Values integration:
‘Appreciation, Cooperation
Procedure
‘A. Preparatory Activities
1. Classroom and Mode Setting
2. Reminders
3. Prayer/Song,
4. Checking of Attendance
4. Drill
Direction: Stick the even number before a phrase that describes a pleasant sound and odd number
tothe unpleasant sound.
1. fish vendors in Bugasong Public Market
2. chirping Maya Bird
3. sound system during Bugas sa Lusong Festival
4, wind in Jatay-Jatay farm
2. Review
11. What is the primary source of heat on Earth?
2. Why is heat important in our dally lives?
B, Developmental Activities:
1. Motivation:
‘A. Show a picture of a man holding a hot aluminum pot using a pot holder through
PowerPoint presentation.

|CamScanner‘Ask: What can you say about the picture?
Why do you think the man Is using a pot holder?
What will happened If the man will not use a pot holder?
2. Presentation:
Present to the class the learning objectives for the day.
Identify materials that are conductors and insulators of heat.
Unlocking of Content area of Vocabulat
Conductors ~ materials that can transfer heat easily.
Insulators — materials that do not allow heat to pass or flow through them.
Flow—to move in one direction, especially continuously and easily
Transfer —to move from one place to another
Group Activity:
Recall the standards to be followed when performing an activity.
Each group will conduct an experiment to identify materials that are conductors and
insulators of heat. These groups are Group A, Group B and Group C. They will record their
observation, make a table of the result, and group reporting. Group A will report through
broadcasting, Group B by reciting a poem, and Group C through cheer and yell.
Note: The teacher wil guide the learners accomplish their work, and will give comments and praises
totheir outputs.
Discussion:
So, do you know already how to identify conductors from insulators? Based from your
activity what materials are conductors? What materials are insulators? When do we say that a
material is conductor? When do we say that a material is insulator?
4, Generalization:
1. What is a conductor?
2. What is an insulator?
3. What are examples of materials that are conductors of heat?
4, What are examples of materials that are insulators of heat?
5. Fixation of Skills:
The teacher will show real objects and the pupils will identify if it is a Conductor or Insulator.
6. Application:
Why is it important to know which materials are conductors and insulators of heat?
How can we stay safe when using materials that are conductors of heat?
7. Valuing:
What did you do to come up with your activity?
How do you find learning conductors and insulators of heat?
Iv. Evaluation:
Identify the insulator and conductor of heat in a given situation by writing the letter of the correct,
answer.
