Reading Comprehension: “Tom’s Summer Camp”
Tom is 12 years old and he goes to summer camp every year. This year,
he is going to a new camp in the mountains. He is staying there for ten
days. Every day, he can choose different activities. He can swim in the
lake, play football, or go climbing.
In the morning, the children have to wake up at 7:00. They must clean
their rooms before breakfast. After that, they go to their activities. In
the afternoon, they don’t have to do anything special—they can relax
or play games.
Tom’s favorite part is the campfire at night. They sing songs, tell stories,
and eat marshmallows. But they mustn’t go near the fire without an
adult.
Tom says camp is fun, but he has to call his parents every two days,
and sometimes he must write letters to his grandma. He’s going to miss
home a little, but he knows he will have a great time.
