Delhi Public School, Bangalore South, celebrated the 75th Independence Day on 15th August, 2022,

with great fervour and joy. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by our revered Principal, Mrs. Anita
Bijesh followed by everyone singing the National Anthem in perfect harmony.

Students put up spectacular dance and music performances which were brimming with energy, enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The
Principal in her speech emphasized on how India won it’s independence because of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters
and conducted a brief quiz for the students on the same topic.
The students also watched a power point presentation emphasizing the significance of the National War Memorial inaugurated
by the honourable Prime Minster Shri Narendra Modi on 25th February 2019, in their respective classes on the 16th August 2022
Sanskrit Day was celebrated on 11th August 2022 at Delhi Public School, Bangalore South with
enthusiasm and vigor by all the Sanskrit students from the Grades 5 to 10. The guest of honor
for the event was Shri Ravishankar Bhat, a Sanskrit Consultant at NAAC who is actively
involved in the revival of the language at Sanskrita Bharathi in Bangalore.
The programme started with students chanting Vedic hymns and a melodious invocation song. A video depicting the teachers of
the school conversing in Sanskrit, stole the hearts of audience. There were also various interesting events like a puppet show,
Sanskrit song mash up and Kavvali song presentation.
Various science and mathematics facts found in the Sanskrit texts were presented by the students. The young learners also
presented a ramp walk dressed as fruits, flowers and animals. A splendid dance performance of the Shiva Tandava left the
audience spell bound.
The programme was concluded with the honorable
chief guest addressing the audience with his words of
wisdom about the structure of the language.

GRADE 5 RECITAL FUN FINAL ROUND

Every child is born creative. The challenge is to keep the creativity alive. The final round of the
RECITAL FUN event for Grade 5 focused on the same motto to help keep the creativity alive in our
students. The students selected in the first round recited their self-composed poems in the final round
with great enthusiasm using various kinds of props. WINNERS

The open Auditorium of the school, adorned in tri-colours was abuzz with patriotic fervour as they celebrated Independence
Day. The students of Grade 4 dressed up as freedom fighters and as people representing various states of India, presented a
Special Assembly to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence on 16th August 2022.
After invoking the divine blessings through a prayer, the students set the assembly rolling with an inspirational thought and news
from around the world. The students with their patriotic group song and dance to a foot tapping number enthralled the audience.
They also presented a skit on communal harmony articulating the message of unity in diversity on this solemn occasion. The
students dressed in the costumes of different states of the country, mesmerized one and all as they presented a musical, celebrating
the rich cultural and linguistic heritage of India. A melodious rendition of Saare Jahaan Se Accha on the key board by a student of
Grade 4 served as befitting finale to the Special Assembly.
The students of Grade 3 celebrated Independence Day on 18th August 2022.
The tiny tots of grade 3 , sang a beautiful patriotic song and also performed a dance on
the same. The freedom struggle between the freedom fighters in India and the
Britishers was depicted in the form of a skit that contained a medley of songs and
dance performances.
Thereafter the students displayed India’s achievements throughout its 75 years of
Independence. It was a beautiful and colourful assembly put up by the children of
Grade 3 showing the colours of freedom.
The assembly for Class 3J was held on 4th August, 2022 on a relevant topic of ‘Social Etiquettes’
Children here presented a beautiful role play explaining about the basic discipline that needs
to be followed in the class and also shared information about Good Manners, Table Manners
and how to greet others using magical words like ‘Sorry, Thank you’ etc. The assembly was
concluded by a scintillating dance performance.
Various charts related to discipline and good manners were exhibited by children which added more colors to
their assembly.
The assembly conducted by students of Grade 3P held on 25th August 2022 was vibrant and
colourful, the theme of the assembly being ‘Building Self Confidence’. The children enjoyed the
act of delivering information about how one could build their self-confidence through their
assembly.
The students performed a skit based on the Importance of Self-Confidence, depicting how one
should react and respond to the failure in life. A Dance, based on the theme ‘ Self-Confidence ’
was performed by the children which added more fun to the show.

The assembly concluded with the poignant message of –‘Your self


confidence is directly connected to how much difference you feel
you are making in the world.’
As they say ‘Confidence and hard work is the only medicine to kill a disease called failure’ and therefore it’s
important to build one’s confidence and have a positive attitude towards life.
Keeping these thoughts in mind, the students of Grade 3C presented a very informative and effective assembly on
the topic- ‘Building Self-Confidence’ on 11 August, 2022. The students took turns to speak about the topic
using placards. A beautiful skit was presented that involved all the children. The audience watched spell bound.
The students of 3B presented a beautiful and a very informative assembly
on 28th July 2022 the topic ‘Social Etiquettes’. The students presented
a skit while sharing some of the important information on how polite
words can create magic if we use it regularly
and treat everyone kindly. They also spoke
about importance of table manners,
and greeting everyone.
Students concluded the assembly by presenting a song on ‘Good manners’
The students of 4R presented their assembly on the 23rd of August 2022 on
the topic-‘Online Schooling is the Way to the Future’. The assembly
began with a prayer. The thought shared was appropriate and relevant. The
enthusiastic students captivated the audience with a group song on a catchy
number and a dance on the topic. Students just back from online schooling
enacted a skit based on their experience. The assembly concluded with the
summing up of how online schooling is the way into the future.
Just back from the Online mode of schooling, the students of 4E were reminiscing their virtual classrooms in the assembly on
‘Online Schooling is the way to the Future’ held on 2nd, August 2022. The well-presented assembly began with a prayer
and a motivational thought. The students debated on whether online schooling was a boon or bane. A few children spoke for the
topic highlighting the points like flexibility, saving time and money and accessibility and few students spoke against the topic
stressing upon the network issues, health concerns and lack of social interaction. The assembly came to an end with foot tapping
fusion dance performance.
World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated on 29th July each year. The students of 5G presented an assembly to spread
awareness on conservation of nature under the theme of ‘Forest Conservation’ on 1st August, 2022. The students performed
a skit based on the concept of Sunder Bans Tiger Reserve National Park to show how forest communities can live together in
harmony with wild life. The students were dressed in colourful costumes in accordance to the theme of the skit.
Anmol of grade 5G also presented a self-composed poem on forest conservation. The assembly was concluded with a fabulous
dance performance with the message of not cutting trees and saving them.
The children of Class 5E enthusiastically presented their class assembly on the topic ‘Soil Conservation’ on 22nd August 2022.
One of the main factors of Soil erosion is wind and water. A skit was presented which focussed on how soil can be conserved
through planting more trees. ‘Conserve Soil and plant more trees for our better future’ was the message sent across. The
assembly concluded with a wonderful dance on how water and wind can change the shape of land and how it can be prevented.

WATER’. The students also presented a speech supported
by beautiful charts conveying an important message of
‘How to reduce water consumption’. Certain
suggestions of -Drip irrigation, Rain water harvesting,
washing a car with bucket of water, bathing with a bucket
rather than shower etc. were made in the speech. The
programme was ended with a beautiful dance on the song
PAANI ZINDGAANI.

DPS Bangalore North conducted its 10th inter-school event ‘Impressions, Decennium’
from 12th -14th August 2022.
