My Fun Weekend

Last weekend, Emma and her family had a fun time together. On Saturday morning, they
packed a picnic basket with sandwiches, apples, juice boxes, and cookies. Then they drove to
the big park near their town. The sky was blue, and the sun was shining brightly.

When they arrived, Emma jumped out of the car with excitement. She rode her pink bike
along the park path while her little brother, Max, played on the swings and climbed the jungle
gym. Their parents sat on a blanket and watched them play.

At lunchtime, everyone sat under a big tree to eat. Emma loved the peanut butter and jelly
sandwich her mom made. Max spilled his juice, but they all laughed and cleaned it up
together. After lunch, they walked to the pond. Emma and Max threw pieces of bread to the
ducks. Then they saw a turtle sitting on a rock. Emma quietly pointed to it so they wouldn’t
scare it away. She thought it was the coolest thing she had seen all day.

Later, the family took a lot of pictures of flowers, trees, and even a squirrel. When they got
home, Emma helped her mom bake chocolate chip cookies. The house smelled delicious!
After dinner, they ate warm cookies with cold milk and talked about their favorite parts of the
day.

On Sunday, they stayed home and had a relaxing day. Emma read a new book, and Max
played with his toy cars. In the evening, they watched a movie together on the couch. Emma
felt happy and thankful for a weekend full of fun and family time. (cr: twnkl)
