OPTCL Power Training Centre (PTC), Chandaka, Bhubaneswar, has been accredited as
Category-I Training Centre (approved Training Centre for imparting training to Graduate and
Diploma Engineers and Technicians) as per the provisions contained in Indian Electricity Rules
-1956 (saved in Electricity Act, 2003) by Central Electricity Authority (CEA). PTC is also an ISO
9001:2015 Certified Training Institute relating to the Transmission and Distribution of
Electricity and other allied areas. It is a pioneer Training Institute in Eastern India.

Power Training Centre (PTC), Chandaka, invites applications from B. Tech (Electrical /
Electrical & Electronics) Engineering students for one month Internship program on
“Transmission & Distribution System” at Power Training Centre, Chandaka, Po. - KIIT,
Bhubaneswar-24 through Physical mode.

I. MODE OF TRAINING:

The Training will be conducted only in Physical Mode. Candidates can register themselves
for Physical Mode Training.

II. TRAINING BATCHES:

i. There will be three batches of Training.

Batch Mode of Training Start Date Timing

Batch-I Physical 24.05.2024 08:30 AM – 01:30 PM

Batch-II Physical 01.06.2024 2:30 PM – 07:30 PM

Batch-III Physical 07.06.2024 08:30 AM – 01:30 PM

ii. The number of batches may increase or decrease depending on the number of
students registered for Training.
 iii. The students have to select the batch at the time of registration. The slots will be
available on first cum first basis. The PTC authority reserves the right to change the
batch allotted to the student as per requirement.

III. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (ESSENTIAL) & OTHER ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:

i. The student must be a citizen of India.

ii. Students pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering
(4th, 6th & 8th Semester) from a recognized university/Institution are eligible for
registration. Passed out students are also eligible for the training.

IV. TRAINING DURATION:

The training will be generally for a period of One Month, unless and otherwise extended.
Classes may be held on Sundays and other holidays.

V. OTHER FACILITIES:

i. The students enrolled for Physical Mode Training shall be provided with Course
materials and course completion certificate at the end of the training.

ii. There shall be no obligation on the part of the Corporation to offer any kind of
appointment to a student who undergoes the said summer internship.

VI. APPLICATION FEE AND MODE OF PAYMENT:

i. The students are required to pay a non-refundable training fee as follows:

a. Physical Mode Training: Rs.8,000/- +GST i.e Rs.9,440/- (Rupees Nine Thousand
Four Hundred Forty only)

ii. The fee is to be paid in on-line payment mode at the time of online registration
through Debit/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. In on-line payment mode, an applicant will
be redirected to the payment gateway. The students shall bear the online
transaction charges as applicable.

iii. After completion of the registration, the candidate is required to take the print out
of the registration form for future reference.

VII. FOR SON/DAUGHTER OF OPTCL/GRIDCO EMPLOYEES:

i. The son/daughter of OPTCL/GRIDCO employees or ex-employees who fulfil the

prescribed eligibility criteria is exempted from fees.

ii. The student is to produce an ID card/certification letter (at Appendix-I) from the
concerned Head of Office where his/her parent is working & upload the same while
applying for online registration.
 iii. The employee ID of the employee/ex-employee is required for filling out the online
registration.

iv. The son/daughter of OPTCL/GRIDCO employees or ex-employee without a

certification letter / ID card issued by OPTCL/GRIDCO will be treated as a normal
student and the training fee as applicable will also be applicable to them.

VIII. SELECTION PROCEDURE

i. Eligible students are requested to apply online through the link available at the
OPTCL website i.e. www.optcl.co.in w.e.f 12.05.2024 10:30 AM.

ii. The selection of the students in a batch for the internship program will be made by
DGM (EL) PTC, Chandaka.

iii. The decision of the DGM (EL) PTC, Chandaka for allotment of batch & mode shall be
final & binding.

IX. OTHER CONDITIONS:

i. The training for a particular student may be cancelled without any notice or without
assigning any reasons thereof if they fail to adhere to the rules & regulations of PTC
or are found to have submitted forged documents.

ii. Students shall be required to visit the OPTCL website www.optcl.co.in from time to
time for information regarding all events associated with the ongoing training process.

iii. OPTCL Management reserves the right not to fill any or all the batches without
assigning any reason thereof.

iv. OPTCL Management reserves the right to cancel the Internship program, if the need
so arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason thereof.

v. Any dispute arising out of the ongoing Internship program, the decision of DGM(EL)
PTC is final and binding.

X. PROCEDURE TO APPLY:

i. Before filling up the On-line Application, students shall read and understand the
contents of the Notification, Instructions to fill up the On-line Application. Please
click the link provided for registration: www.optcl.co.in w.e.f 12.05.2024 10:30 AM.

ii. On successful registration of the online application form, a unique Registration

Number will be displayed on the screen as well as at the top of the application form.
Candidates are required to retain the unique Registration Number and use it for future
correspondence.

iii. Uploading of Documents:

‘Students shall upload the scanned copy of the following original documents:
 a. Recent colour passport size photograph and signature in the prescribed format
(.jpg/.jpeg/.png) with a maximum size up to 50 KB each. (Be careful while
scanning your signature. You should first put your signature in an area of about
2" x 1" on blank paper with a ballpoint pen. Scan the paper. Cut/ select the only
signature area (2"x 1") and save it in .jpg/.jpeg format.)

b. Bonafide /Provisional certificate/ID card/ Registration Card from respective

University/Institution.

c. Corporate ID card/ Authorisation certification letter (Appendix-I) applicable only

to son/daughter of OPTCL /GRIDCO employees.

*From point b and c (whichever is applicable) in .jpg/.jpeg/.png format with a

maximum size up to 200KB.
