requirements for the CBAP certification?

Seek Questions to Analyze Your Own Work


Thank you, these are the correct requirements for the certification. As the application can feel
quite daunting, I want you to first help focus on getting the application completed. The primary
challenge is the 7500 hours of business analysis work experience and having it divided by all
the knowledge areas.

Let’s start by first defining our work experience. What good questions could you ask me, if I
were a person wanting to complete my CBAP application, that would get me thinking about
my work experience to get started in documenting this amount of information?

Consider Other Job Roles or Titles


Thank you. These are helpful. Knowing that you do not need to have been called a “business
analyst” or had a job title of “business analyst” to have done business analysis work, what
other types of roles should we consider that I might have had that would be work experience
because the work that was done was business analysis work (even if the job title was not
that of a BA)?

Identify BA Tasks and Activities


What are the tasks that I should be looking for in each of these jobs so that the work experience
counts for the CBAP application?

Excellent! Very helpful! Now, what techniques should I be thinking about that would be ways
to know I was doing analysis work? I might not have called my work by the same names as the
tasks listed in the BABOK guide, so what techniques might I have done in my work experience
that I should look for to help surface some more business analysis work experience?

Thanks, this is helpful! Could you generate an example work experience description that
someone who is qualified for the CBAP certification process might submit to show that they
both exceed the 7500 hours requirement and have well beyond 900 hours of experience in
four or more knowledge areas?
