The Methodology of OR

When we are going to solve the problem of an organization


using OR, the following step needs to be followed.

Step 1: The problem Formation

OR analysts need to define the problem/parameter includes


specifying the organization's objective and the parts of the
organization (or system) by clearly studding the organization.

Step 2: Observe the system
Next, the analyst collects data to estimate the values of
parameter that affect the organization’s problem. These
estimates are used to develop (in step 3) and evaluate (in step
4) a mathematical model of the organization’s problem.

Step 3: Formulate the mathematical Model

The analyst, develops a mathematical model of the problem.
