NETWORKING
Session 2
WHAT DID WE TALK ABOUT LAST WEEK?
Let's hear what you
remember.
WE WILL START WITH AN ACTIVITY:
Read a person’s statement and reflect on answering
the questions below.
Many executives, professionals, and MBA students
do not like networking because it makes them feel
fake or uncomfortable. Some people, like those
who are extroverted and enjoy socializing, have a
natural passion for it, but many others think it is
insincere and can even feel wrong.
(Gino, Kouchaki, Casciario, 2016).
WE WILL START WITH AN ACTIVITY:
ACTIVITY.
Let’s hear your opinion.
Have you ever felt that
way?
What do you think about
this attitude?

For all of you who did not get a chance
to talk, share your thoughts in Canvas
by answering the forum. Give an
answer and a comment on your
classmate’s answers.
Remember to be respectful and get
your answer to build up with your
peer’s contribution.
WHEN IS IT A GOOD TIME TO NETWORK?
Let’s hear your opinion.
WHEN IS IT A GOOD TIME TO NETWORK?
We are networking
all the time.
WHEN IS IT A GOOD TIME TO NETWORK?
Every time we stop in the corridor,
chat to a classmate, colleague,
professor, use the social networks, pick
up the phone, send an email, etc., we
are networking.
However, there are times when we
engage in more active networking,
and that is typically the case when we
do it for business purposes. Some
examples include attending
professional events, business fairs,
interviews, conferences, and other
similar occasions.

CONCLUSIONS
Networking skills can be critical to our
professional success, that’s why it is
important to put into practice strategies to
master this skills.
When you think more about what you can
give to others than what you can get from
them, networking will seem less self-
promotional and more selfless—and
consequently, a better and more effective
use of your time.
