1. Which do you think has the greater impact on human development, genetic or
environmental predispositions?
The debate on the importance of genetic and environmental factors in human
development is complex, and both play significant roles. It's widely accepted in
the scientific community that both nature and nurture interact to shape an
individual's development. But in my opinion, environmental influences have the
most impact on human development. It includes family upbringing, education,
socioeconomic status, cultural surroundings, and life experiences. It plays a crucial
role in shaping an individual’s development. Early childhood experiences, in
particular, can have a lasting impact on cognitive, emotional, and social
development.
2. What educational programs or teaching interventions can we initiate in order to
help support the establishment of an encouraging classroom? Describe each
program or strategy.
Creating an encouraging and supportive classroom environment involves
implementing various educational programs and teaching interventions. Some of
these are: differentiated instruction, it recognizes and accommodates diverse
learning needs within the classroom and it can be implemented by identifying
students’ learning styles and adapt teaching methods accordingly; classroom
meetings, by providing a regular forum for students to discuss concerns, share
ideas, and build a sense of community; and positive behavior support, it is a
proactive approach to classroom management that focuses on preventing
challenging behaviors and promoting positive ones.
3. How 21st Century classroom setting provides support, stimulates learning,
becomes conducive and promotes healthy environment for learners?
The 21st-century classroom setting is designed to go beyond traditional teaching
methods and adapt to the changing needs of learners in a technology-driven and
interconnected world. Here are ways in which a 21st-century classroom provides
support, stimulates learning, becomes conducive, and promotes a healthy
environment for learners: technology intervention – digital tools and
multimedia engage students, fostering a dynamic and interactive learning
experience; personalized learning - students can pursue topics of interest,
allowing for deeper engagement and a sense of ownership in their learning;
inquiry-based learning – it promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and a
deeper understanding of concepts.
