Introduction
Considering all areas of life, coaching concept has old useful all over the world but not
understand as the world coaching. Different leaders or mentors have given examples
for others who try to do the same or try to respect the same condition. Several African
communities have developed this concept trough children who try to follow their parents’
activities or profession. Hence, this is not coaching, but the concept is the same when
the older or the experienced trained the younger. In the past, coaching was not
understood as such because people had not knowledge in this field and the domain was
not so developed than nowadays. A lot of coaches executed coaching in some field like
trade coach, health coach, so and so but they did not call it coaching because the name
is not used. Others amateurs with experience or with executed action became coaches
and had consulted for any kind of matters. Unfortunately, these amateurs’ coaches had
the same conditioning and people has trust in their practice. The whole field of coaching
in the past is healthcare, people researched help with stress, with unemployment, with
depression, with mental diseases of children, of young people, of women so on.
Through its definition, action to help or train someone in condition to understand his
capacity or to use his ability, coaching is clearly important in any action for achieving
success or goal.
People had problem and had not skills, not competences, neither knowledge nor ability
to understand how researching coach support. In this case, people waste time to
resolve problem, thus they must let go and change the life.
With a lot of evolution, concept has transformed and was used enormously by patients
first, who have depression or stress. Step by step, coaching becomes special activity or
special domain for students because it is studied in special high school or university.
There are specialists training in changing life by forgetting problem and continue in
another field or another activity. “In terms of skills, working in the coaching role you
describe involves four major areas teaching, mentoring, facilitation and professional
coaching. To be taken seriously, you should be able to demonstrate that you’ve done
some coaching before and have experienced various agile approaches in a diversity of
organizations because you may want your coaching business to be active in various
industries” Lindsay Scott (2017, page 23), The Next Level, Sometimes the next career
step isn’t so obvious. Also: how to become an agile coach, PM Network. Modern
coaching is developed idea to not focus in one though, but changing though when there
is problem.
In the future it will be executed through software, internet and others modern technics
and technologies. To do this activity, graduates who decided to do it must respect rules,
conditions and regulations. Modern coaches have to do the best for this area activity
because need is big and fields are a lot.

Lesson 1

1.Define Coaching and how it is applied.

By its definition, coaching is process in which an individual is supported to reach a
personal or professional competence. In old conception, Coaching is action to train or to
instruct, to educate someone else. It is also action to bring someone from a situation for
increasing one, it means from less situation to an improving one. This is confirmed by
(Fixsen et al., 2005; Rispoli et al., 2017) quoted by Mandy Rispoli et al (2023 page 431),
Effects of Multilevel Supports on Special Education Preschool Teacher Implementation
of Function-Based Interventions, spring, Journal of Behavioral Education “Supports
such as coaching, modeling, role-play, feedback, and self-monitoring can facilitate
acquisition and maintenance of teacher-implemented behavioral interventions”.

Coaching is applied in relationship between two persons, when the first one has
experience and expertise to guide the second with advises on the way like others. It is
used since 1830 in oxford university when a tutor brings student to an exam. At 1861,
term coaching is using in sport and others human activity fields, social, business,
industry, health, political so and so. It using developed in 1990 with many coaching
organizations all over USA.

2. Describe the 6 types of coaching

The six (6) types of coaching are Life Coaching, business coaching, Executive
Coaching, Career Coaching, Personal Coaching, Sports Coaching.

When we take life coaching, it interested personal development through psychology,

sociology or all others which help an individual to achieve personal goal. For business
coaching, it provides personal, human and professional skills basis in business.
Executive coaching is process to help, to motivate, to improve personal, professional
competence and to stimulate individual actions. Then career coaching which is action to
guide someone in his career, in the work and in personal development in his work.
Thus, personal coaching is relationship between coach and clients who want to have
advise for their product choose, kind of expenditure or client interest. Sports coaching is
a system in which a person called coaching teaches, explains, advises and controls
personal athletic or athletic team.

Lesson 2

3. Explain why Visualization is used in Coaching.

Page |6

Visualization is used in coaching to excel in sports action or competitions, to help clients

in them choose, to image success and the way of it, to crate a vision and an ideal life, to
program mind to success, to crate solutions of the goal planned, to create new level of
motivation. This visualization can be by video with technic evolution as indicates this
example of Cheryl Varghese et al (2023,page 829), When Seeing is Believing:
A Framework for Reflective Conversations in Remote and Face-to-Face Coaching
Approaches, Spring, Early Childhood Education Journal “In current implementation of
the video refection coaching process, coaches and teachers use the Classroom
Observation Tool to identify specific teaching behaviors across 13 content areas (e.g.,
classroom management, social and emotional development, phonological awareness,
math) that teachers would like to prioritize for improvement”.
4. Describe how Visualization is used in Coaching.

Visualization is used through vision boards and writing visualization two methods about
client’s goals and dreams. Concerning vision boards, it is manner with its people keep
something in their mind. I can be an image or photo which attached somewhere and
permits to remember a need or an objective. This kind of vision boards is called focus
vision boards because it is exactly what we need. So, it is action to do or to see what we
need exactly and reach it slowly or to reach it step by step.
There is another kind of vision board, ideal or clarity vision in which people do not know
what they clearly want but they need change. Their change will become clear with a
long time, with repeating the same action, to do adventure or traveling and their idea
becomes clear.
The second method is writing visualization for those who can read or write their
experience. By they can write a all experiences for those who have not it and have not
occasion to do the same. With writing they touch all view of their experience, their
knowledge about their idea and their future plan of life. Writing can go far from writer
and can bring effect planned by writer so that writing is becoming archives and can be
consulted usually.

Lesson 3

5. Describe the “Coaching Contract” in terms of Goals, tasks and the Empathic
Relationship.

Coaching contract is a service provided by an executive, consultancy, counselling and

psychotherapy coaching. In practice those kinds coaching has a common characteristic,
the relationship between client and coach. For this coaching contract in terms of goals,
it means that the goal of coaching is to improve the professional need of client but not
his personal life. That is the same with coaching in terms of tasks which is coaching
Page |7

about the task. There is a task to do, when it is done, coaching is finished. So coaching
contract in terms of goals and tasks is from empathic because it cannot establish with
contract only, it has been necessary completed with contact between coach and client.
This contact produces an effect of reflex, client can do effectively what coach says to
do, can do coach’s action. Sometimes there is empathic relationship between coach
and client through acceptance or through feeling the same though and the same
sensation. In fact, when this relationship is established, contract is done. The contact
can be done with some system or actions explained by Charmaine Bernie et al (2023,
page 2906), Coaching While Waiting for Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment: A Pilot
Feasibility Study for a Randomized Controlled Trial on Occupational Performance
Coaching and Service Navigation, spring, Journal of Autism and Developmental
Disorders “Participants were randomly allocated to one of three study arms; usual-care,
videoconference coaching or face-to-face (f2f) coaching. Usual care consisted of
existing service access outside of the assessment service to which the child was
referred, and telephone access to a part-time assessment service coordinator as
required”.

6. Describe the “Core Elements of the Effective Coaching Relationship”.

These elements are opportunity to understand relationship that can be explained by

occasion they have to understand their relation between coach and client. So, client has
to do the best to understand his coach. Another element is that relationship is created
for a long time, it is not like counselling to resolve a therapeutic problem, it must build on
the long moment and the long time. Also, relationship must be based on
experimentation to have skills of change about beliefs, about the good orientation and
influenced change of others organization. Main element of relationship is sense of
achievement of client when he learns coach’s experience. He must do action himself to
have same result indicated by coach. He has to feel sensation of efficacity himself. In
another way, client must learn others skills and avoid mistakes when he is coaching. His
relation with coach must help him to prevent relapse, his behavior has to permit him to
understand that he has done lapses and he must avoid them because there are old,
setbacks to abandon.

Lesson 4

7. Distinguish “Life Coaching” and “Personal Coaching”.

Distinction between life coaching and personal coaching is very difficult but we can do it
through some characteristics. Life coaching is helping person to improve and use his
capacity to change his life towards development. So, life coach draws potential of
Page |8

persons, he develops skills of persons, does not imposes, he enables people but not
trains them. Also, he is reactive, he allows personal transition, he does not judgement,
he does not give instructions.
For personal coaching, it is concerning all aspects of personal development, career
direction and development. This kind of coach helps persons to understand themselves.
It concerned personal profile, personal work orientation and the kind of personal career.
Therefore, personal coaching permit to be competent in any field career, this is
corroborated by this reflection “We noted, however, that ratings on several of these
items changed from strongly agree following didactic and role play trainings to agree
following intensive coaching. Educators strongly agreed the didactic and role-play pre-
baseline training procedures were consistent with other in-service trainings they had
received (i.e., not those related to ABA or intensive behavior support); however, ratings
varied from neutral to strongly agree on whether the intensive coaching procedures
were consistent with other previous in-service trainings” Marney S. Pollack et al
(2023,page 254),effects of Intensive Coaching on Educator Implementation
of a Comprehensive Function-Based Intervention Package, spring, Journal of
Behavioral Education.

8. Describe the 3 steps to becoming a Life/Personal Coach.

Career of life or personal coach ask to do:

training or find courses in life coaching which allows to have skills, capacity, ability and
methods of coach training.
Secondly, it is very important to have coach level through a certificate of a center of
coach training. There are different levels of coaching career all around the world.
In the third step, specialization on a coaching area is important because there are
several areas of coaching. This specialization allows coach to be focused in one field
and find motivation on.

Lesson 5

9. Describe 5 of the top 10 tips for coaching effectively.

Nowadays coaching becomes career wishing by a lot of people, but it is possible when
these tips are respected.
Managers have to understand coach job, so he is near coach to have a clear view of
employees’ performance, to motivate employees in their work. For this, coach must
know bossing, coaching, training, counselling, so and so.
Manager must be a good coach, that he must have a good perspective on employees.
He does not consider employees or people on their past but on their motivation which
Page |9

he must create on them. Then manager has to practice like a coach model after taken
coaching courses, developing coaching skills and engaging in continuous application
coaching knowledge. In another step, coach must show his engagement or supporting
in all phases of investment with coaching culture for organization. After this, coach has
to understand and respect employees’ differences. There are several employees in the
team, manager must do coach technic to value any employee difference. Coach gives
or considers all employee’s value and all employee’s work.

10. Describe the 5 focus strategies for managers.

For every manager, relationship is very important in his job because this allows
everyone or every employee to trust on what manager says or what manager wants.
For coaching, relationship is basis to excite or to bring someone understanding his
potential like job of coach. Through his skills, manager has to help employee to do
assessment of their service or their work. So, assessment permits to know where
employee begins and where he goes or arrives. Another strategy is that manager has to
permit employee initiative, so he takes initiative to resolve some problems or to
accomplish some activities. Manager has to allow thinking by others to conduct well
process. In the same way, he has to support employees in their tasks, in their initiatives.
By this he encourages them to improve their knowledge and their motivation for work
solely. In their request of good job, employees must be monitored, so results can permit
them to do so. Because of this manager must support employees to achieve good goals
and he must show them that they are responsible of their work.

Lesson 6

11. Describe “Professional Coaching”.

Professional coaching is process of partnering with client for provoking and creating
their personal or professional potential in a complex environment. It is a process helps
clients to improve their outlook, their life, their leadership skills and unlock their
potential. Professional coaching focuses on reaching goals, on creating results and
managing change.
For this, it is different from therapy, consulting, mentoring, training, athletic development
and coaching industry. Professional coaching is useful and permit strategy to achieve
outcome with greater ease. For this, language coaching permits to have skills in
language concerned. This the case of Colin Mitchell (2023, page 175), Supporting the
Transition to Self-Directed Learning in ESL: A Coaching Intervention, SiSAL Journal
Vol. 14, No. 2, Reitaku University, Chiba, Japan “Before the coaching sessions and
after watching the video, the participants were asked to define coaching in their own
P a g e | 10

words. Most believed it was a teaching process or helping them improve their language
skills. These initial results were interesting because the researcher is a language
teacher and their coach”.

12. Describe the “Coaching Process”.

When it is necessary to use coaching, beginning with the whole need of this process. It
means that people or being needing coaching must summarize objectives or goals to
reach. These goals are all expecting needs of people or organization. When these ideas
are clear, knew effectively, coaching will help to focus the strategy. Coaching must
indicate technic to use for. Its role is to indicate the outcome to have, the results fixed
with technic used or chosen. In another step of coaching process, there is perspective
to attend ongoing, the value to create and energy to develop. Wherever, coaching is
tools to improve and achieve changes in the life. As we see at the top, coaching
process is a sum of coach activities to help clients or someone to know ho is he, how
can be and what can do to change his life.
Anyway, coaching process looks like assessment, has several concepts, models and
principles which can be developed by appreciative approach. In other way coaching
process can take others step like this affirmation of Brown and Woods (2016) and Rush
& Shelden(2011) quoted by Jennifer Call Jone (2023, page 652),Coaching Parents
to Support Oral Language Skills During Shared Reading, Early Childhood Education
Journal “IN examining the coaching process and triadic relationship between a parent,
child, and interventionist, found that providing parents opportunities to practice while
receiving feedback and guidance from an interventionist or having the interventionist
step back and observe helped support parents in learning to implement an intervention.
Several of these coaching practices including observation, practice, and feedback are
discussed in The Early Childhood Coaching Handbook which served as the framework
for this study”.

Lesson 7

13. Briefly describe the 11 core competencies of Coaching.

This description concerns:

Setting foundation is process to have abilities, guidelines, professional standards in
coaching situations and agreement to establish.
Special relationship must stablish between client and coach that permits trust and
intimacy when coach is usually present. These conduct to communicate directly with
active listen and powerful questioning. It is also occasion to create awareness,
designing action, plan and goals settings, managing progress and accountability.
P a g e | 11

14. Which core competency do you need to strengthen the most, and why?

In coaching, it is most important to have competence of managing progress and

accountability of client because coach must hold client’s attention on what is important
for him and must leave responsibility with him acting. In fact, others competences are
necessary for coaching, as described by Anne Klinefelter (2021, page 17), Leadership
from A to Z, Lessons learned from an academic law library director, AALL Spectrum
“Project management, problem solving, priority setting, and coaching others are all
examples of responsibilities that leaders might delegate or share. Even without authority
to assign responsibilities, a leader can explore ways to pull in useful collaborators.
Sharing the workload helps make any of these types of leadership roles more
sustainable. Delegating also encourages others to develop expertise and judgement”.

Lesson 8

15. What do you like most about Dr. Joseph Luciani’s approach to Coaching? Give an
example that shows its usefulness.

Dr. joseph Luciani develops approach to separate fact from fiction and deal with facts.
He means that people must not waste time on panic, on little problem, on anxiety but
letting it go like turning channel of radio. His approach is to have ability to change life
when problem appears and not stay on it for long time because the time is not waiting.
When we loose job about what we try to gain life, we have not to wait the same. We
have to research another job and continue life according what we have. We have to not
think about last job, last time. We have to take our responsibility to look the future, not
looking though our shoulders.

16. Describe the 5 “Essential Ingredients” of Coaching.

Coaching has ingredients, we try to find five essentials of it:

Control your weakness defined that you have to prepare for controlling your doubts,
fears, your worries, so that you must have strategies to struggle with all diseases we
see. You have to control your self and do somethings to eliminate doubts. Then you
have to separate fact from fiction, so that fact is real, observable, phenomena, but
fiction is a judgement, interpretation and prognostication. If you are thinking about some
idea, you are in fiction. Also, you have to stop listen to noise, this expression means that
you have to though thrust action and stopping to think for long time without action.
When you thought or when you have reflection, you must do action. The next step is let
go on what you like. This stage is to have reflection on what is good for you and what is
P a g e | 12

bad for you. In fact, let go is action to turn channel for the best choice, not to back.
Another ingredient is motivating yourself to struggle against habits and maintain
sufficient energy. It is also necessary to challenge the myths by struggling depression to
work. You must be convinced that you have your choice to improve your life.

Lesson 9

17. How do you understand the “Power of Positive Thinking”?

When it is possible to do something, to work or to improve life himself, to have success

so and so, there is self-coaching which can be positive thinking. The power of positive
thinking can be self-talk which permits to have intrinsic or extrinsic motivation and
emotion to choose system, mentor or career. In fact, positive thinking can use
confidence in actions, belief himself and his competences. There are also though to
compare positive or negative action or task trough this sentence “All behavior. is
expressed to provide a useful and positive function. Sometimes however the behavior.
in a certain situation is not the most productive or empowering” Neurolinguistic
Programming (2023, page 17), Foundations of coaching NPL.

18. Choose the best 3 of the 10 ways to build a positive mental attitude and explain why
you think they are the best.

Through the 10 ways, there are most Important like choice of life to achieve results or
success. This is the way of life which we decide to take for our grow of life. We choice to
improve our life by some activities which we must conduct effectively. We have to do
the best to reach this success by the way choose. It is right when we choose priorities
and values to grow in the way to avoid wasting time for hobbies, for television or others
books without good issues. Therefore, another way is to have people with positive
influence in his contacts. This can help to have positive thoughts in activities or in life
actions. The tree ways chosen between others are sufficient to permit us positive
thinking, self-coaching and positive mental of life.

Lesson 10

19. How would you distinguish the past and the future of Coaching? What is the
difference?

Human is the same creature from the past to now, but its activities change with the
moment. So, others need appear and coaching is one of these needs. This coaching is
in the past, it is increased nowadays and will be improved effectively in the future. In the
P a g e | 13

past coaching has helped people in choice of life condition, in their direction, in their
production but it was not understood because there were not specialists. Coaching is
old support of people because a leader tries to success and others of his community do
the same. This situation was caused by the lack of knowledge, people have not good
life’s conditions. When we take coaching in our life, it is very important to understand
the long way that it is crossed and it will continue in the future.
Nowadays, we have some specialist coaches in some areas and have their role, their
value. This domain coaching will extend in all activities in life because people need help
coaching and coaches do effort to improve knowledge in the domain. Several high
schools try to initiate courses in different areas of coaching to have real specialist with
practice and experience since schools.

Difference between coaching in the past and the future is that in the past knowledge is
insufficient and coaching has the conditioning in all areas. Therefore, coaching in our
time has used new technics and technology like self-talk factors, computer software,
internet connection so and so. In the future, coaching will become special drugs for
each need of human. It will become object of researchers and will have perpetual
evolution in the life.

20. What aspect of the future of Coaching inspires you the most and why?

Coaching becomes special domain with a lot of requirements or conditions imposed by

need of moment because clients try to research coaches with special knowledge. For
this, coaching is primordial in life and to become coach must be also rigorous. In the
future, coaching with knowledge of schools or university with certificate or degree, with
accreditation by office, with official regulation will transform the world life. Professional
coaching is the best for people because it is domain of health, of good life and of human
being. It becomes an important field of life and it can be very expensive, so coaches will
do competition in their activities. With good skills and good experience, coach is
qualified to be consulted anyway and anywhere. With twenty (20) or fifteen (15) years’
experience without good skills or good ability, a coach cannot be used. So, amateur
coach will not be expected in the future with transformation of domain concerned.
P a g e | 14

Conclusion

With modern concept coaching, it is clear that all sectors of human endeavors are
concerned. In general, Human beings are ambitious and with ambition comes the need
of coaching to better attain goals in life minimum input, because very few individual or
possible none can find a way guidance. This training can always conducted through
various methods, with unlimited modern tool, by properly trained coaches using simple
and complex techniques or technologies.
For this, any human had needed coaching to understand his life, who is he and what he
can do? So, training is executed by coaches who were amateurs in the past, nowadays
coaches are specialists coming from schools and universities, they have learned skills
to coach. What are these coaches’ skills? There are a lot, by the main are fluently
communication between coach and client, ability to establish relationship, to establish
contract by software or modern technics.
Therefore, two coaching’s categories appeared, life coaching which interested to client
behavior, his being, his mental and all aspect of his body. The second one is personal
coaching which concerned human activities, its work, its supports through job and all
ways to do execute sustainable task. Each category is using its methods, its approach,
its process its criteria to respond about client needs. With several needs, coaching
becomes financial expert issues in future and must be regulated by government to avoid
bad practices.
All coaching activities must be executed in way to support family in its requests of good
life, to support government with tax, with help about mental health and against all kind
of illness because coaching became drugs. The whole aspect is that coaches must
respect coaching regulation for improvement of this activity.
