Mr. and Mrs. Smith are first time home owners who recently
purchased an older home. The house was built in the 1960s. The
kitchen is outdated and old fashioned and so the Smiths have
budgeted for a kitchen renovation. They have hired you as a project
manager for the project. They understand that you know how to use Date Prepared
project management to achievethe project objectives while meeting August 1 2024
their schedule and budget constraints.
Project Deliverables
1. A well renovated modern Kitchen with New cupboards, plumbing, lighting, and appliances.
2. Proper management of renovation and design to achieve the requirements in every aspects
in terms of standards, progress, finance, and time as stated in the needed criteria.
3. The overall planning, management and coordination of the project from origination to
completion, targeted at meeting clients' requirements.
4. Using progress and final outcome of the project development as a future reference for
upcoming projects.

Out-of-scope activities:
Things that I'm considering for the project but
might not have the time and resources to
implement include: The Floor and Wall
Painting.
New windows was explicitly excluded from the
project scope because they could not afford it
now.
Project Manager and Team Members
Project Manager: Responsible for the overall project management which include, inspecting,
planning and supervising the project from start to completion.
Procurement Officer: Is responsible for the purchase of all materials needed for the project
which include; Plumbing materials, new cupboards, lightings and appliances.
Plumber: Is responsible for the removal of the old plumbing and fixing of the new plumbing
materials.
Carpenter: responsible for the removal of the old cupboard and installation of the new
cupboards.
Electrician: responsible for fixing of lightings.
Labours: they're responsible for the removal, disposal and cleaning works

All stages are implemented and monitored using Gantt Chart to keep all stakeholders
on the same page, to pass constitent information to ensure all expectations are met.
Project Risks and Assumptions
1. Labour Shortage: If there's labour shortage it can have a significant impact on the projects.
This can lead to delays, cost overruns, and quality defects.
2. Safety Hazards: During the renovation process, accidents or injuries may occur.
3. Unexpected Material pricing. Material prices can vary significantly due to inflation rate and
this can affect initial budget.
