1. Can you tell me about your major?
- Of course. I am currently in my third year of studying
Accounting at Hanoi University of Industry. Accounting is the
job of recording, analyzing, and reporting the economic situation
of a company.

- My major is accounting at Hanoi University of Industry.

3. Why did you choose this major?


- Because Marketing is in high demand today. Businesses need
accountants to collect and process company data to make better
development plans. This means there are many job opportunities
for accounting graduates.

4. Do you choose this major by yourself or by other’s suggestion?


- I chose accounting because I found it suitable for my careful
personality and ability to analyze data. In addition, my parents
also work in the financial field, so they encouraged me to pursue
this major.

5. Can you tell me about some advantages and disadvantages of


learning this major?
- The accounting industry has many benefits such as stable work,
high salaries, and training in problem-solving and analysis skills.
The downside is that accounting is a highly competitive industry
and the work is quite stressful and may be relevant to legal issues.

6. What subjects in this major do you like? Why?


- I really enjoy financial accounting. It's fascinating to see how
financial transactions are recorded, analyzed, and reported.
Understanding how businesses track their income, expenses, and
assets really attracts me.

7. If you could choose again, would you choose this major?


- If had an opportunity to choose again, I would still decide to
choose accounting because I can develop my strengths. I want
to work in a highly competitive environment with many
deadlines instead of a too-safe working environment.

8. Do you think learning this major can bring you a good job in the
future?
- Sure, because this is one of the reasons why I chose this major.
Accounting is a necessary major nowadays and in the future So it
will bring me a good job.

1. Are you having a part-time job now?
- Yes, I am currently working a part-time job related to
accounting, which both helps me study and help me earn extra
income.

2. Do you think having a part-time job is good for students? Why?


- Yes. I believe that having a part-time job can be a valuable
experience for students. Because students can gain valuable
work experience, develop good work habits, earn extra money,
and build their confidence.

3. At which year should students have part-time job?


- I think the most suitable time to have a part-time job is the first
year of university, because this is the time when you get
familiar with the learning and living environment, and you
have the basic skills to access a job related to your major.

4. What part-time jobs are suitable for students of your major?


- There are many part-time jobs that are suitable for students
of accounting majors, for example, accounting assistant,
tutoring, saler

- I think no, because I am confident in my time management
ability and that is how I practice soft skill

- A part-time job has many benefits such as practicing
communication skills, and time management skills between
study and work, and it also helps me earn extra income

- To balance between studying and a part-time job, you need to
learn time management skills, for example, if you go to school in
the morning, and go to work in the afternoon, you should spend
time in the evening learning the morning lesson, so work and
study will not be affected by each other.

8. Which skills can students develop thanks to part-time jobs?


- Thanks to part-time job, students can learn time
management skills, expense management, and
communication skills.

3. STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

1. What are your strengths and weaknesses?


- I am good at communication with people, It helps me a lot with
both study and work, and I am also able to adapt to change and
learn new things quickly. However, I am still under development
so I am not good at teamwork skills but I wll improve it

2. Do you think your weaknesses will affect your future job?


- Sure, my weakness is teamwork skills - an indispensable skill
of a marketer, if I lack this skill, I could be fired, so I always try
to learn and improve it.

- Teamwork skill is an indispensable skill. So I believe that by
collaborating with other language models, learning from
human teams, and asking for feedback, I can improve my
teamwork skills and become a more valuable asset to any team.

- To work as a marketer, some qualities I should be creative in
order to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns.
Beside that, you should be able to communicate effectively
with customers and other people. In addition, you should have
Problem-solving skills and can adapt to every working
environments.
5. Are communication skill and computer literacy your strengths?
- One of those. I am confident in my communication skills
because I am an extrovert, but I am not confident in my
computer skills because I only understand basic computer
knowledge. If I
encounter a difficult computer requirement, I won't be able to do
it.
6. Is public speaking skill your weakness?
- Of course not. This is an indispensable skill for a marketer. I
learned a lot of public speaking skills, so I am confident in
this skill.
7. What do you usually do when you realize your weaknesses?
- When I realized my weaknesses, I knew I had to try my best
to learn and improve that skill until I was no longer afraid of
it.

Unit 1:
1. What are suitable topics for small talk at workplace?
- In my opinion, when we make a small talk at workplace, we should
talk about neutral topic like: weathers, sports, film or current
events. And we should avoid gossiping about your co-worker’s
private life, we shouldn’t talk about sensitive topic like religion and
marital status.
2. Is it possible to talk about others’ appearance at workplace?
- I think that is inappropriate at workplace if that is a criticism,
when the person who you are talking about know it, they will feel
uncomfortable and maybe lead to fight. But in case that is a
compliment as a beautiful new shirt,… so talk about other’s
apperance is possible, it will make the other person happy.
3. Can you tell me some office etiquette that you know?
- Sure. There are some office etiquette that I know: First, You have
to arrive on time or early at least 5 minutes before work. Second,
dressing formal follow dress code policy, avoid wearing informal
clothes. Third, you should talk about neutral topic like weather,
sports,…or topics relevant to work. Finally, you have to clean up
after yourself, and must not bring smell food to work.
4. Do you think which office etiquette is the most important? Why?

- From my point of view, arrive early at least 5 minutes before work
is the most important. Because, when you arrive early, You will
have more time to prepare before starting work. It could be drinking
a cup of coffee to stay awake, preparing documents, or starting up
the computer. That shows that you are organized, respect your work,
and make a good impression with your boss and colleagues.

1. Can you share something about your email habit?
- Sure. I use email every day to chat with my friend, my family, my
collueages or sometimes with my teacher. I have two email, one
for my personal, I used to chat with friends and family. The other
one I use for work, to send and receive documents from my boss
and colleagues. Email very convenient for me because it easy to
use, quick and high security.
2. Do you prefer email to letter? Why?
- Yes, I like email more than letter. Because email is more
convenient than letter, I can send file and document via email
everywhere quickly. Email is more efficient than letter, It is much
faster and easier to send an email than to write a letter. So, for most
general communication needs, email is the better choice.
3. Do you have any special letter?
- Yes, I have a special letter. In 10th grade, I participated in the
UPU letter writing contest. The topic of the contest was
environmental protection. I wrote about forest fires causing
animals to lose their shelter. The special thing is that my letter
won first prize in high school, it was a letter I will never forget.
Unit 3:
1. Can you tell me some meeting etiquette that you know?
- Yes, There are some etiquette that I know: First, you should
prepare all of necessary information and materials before meeting.
Second, during the meeting, you should turn your phone on vibrate,
if you need to answer the phone, you should politely ask
permission to go out. Last, you should avoid gossiping while others
are presenting.
2. Which meeting etiquette is the most important for you? Why?
- In my opinion, the most important meeting etiquette is you should
prepare all of necessary information and materials before a
meeting. This shows that you are an oganized person, and other see
that you serious with your work. If you prepare, you will have a
deep understanding with the presentation during the meeting.

Unit 4:
1. Why does a company need to advertise their products or services?
- Because when a company advertises its products and services,
that product becomes more known to customers, helping the
company sell more products.
2. What type of adverts do you like the best? Why?
- I like most TV commercials because they are a creative way to
tell stories and sell products. I am fascinated by how advertisers
use music, visuals, and humor to capture people's attention and
make them remember their brand.
3. What can you say about advertising by poster?
- Advertising by poster is a traditional and effective way to reach a
large audience with a visual message. Posters can be placed in
high- traffic areas where people are likely to see them. Posters are a
relatively inexpensive form of advertising, and they can be very
effective in generating brand awareness and driving sales.
4. Is TV commercial a good advertising? Why?
- Yes, it is a good advertising, but In my opinion, advertising on TV
has both advantages and disadvantages. Its benefit is that it is a very
eye-catching and colorful type of advertisement, viewers can easily
follow the story that the advertiser wants to convey. However, it
also has the disadvantage that the cost of advertising is very high.
Overall, it is the easiest type of advertising to reach viewers but the
cost is too high so it is not suitable for all businesses.

- Newspapers and billboards are both traditional forms of
advertising, but they have different strengths and weaknesses…

- A SWOT analysis helps a company to understand its strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This information can then
be used to develop strategies to improve the company's
performance and achieve its goals.
8. What can we know about a company by looking at its SWOT?
- When looking at a company’s SWOT we can see its strengths,
weaknesses, threats and opportunities. A SWOT analysis can
provide a comprehensive overview of a company's situation
and help to identify areas where it can improve its performance
and achieve its goals.
Unit 5:
1. What are qualities of a good customer service officer?
- I think a good customer service officer need some qualities: such
as you should keep your positive attitude, you have to have a good
understanding of the company's products or services to answer
question of customers. Beside that, you should have resolving-
problem skill to be able to quickly and effectively identify and
resolve customer problems.
2. Do you have any bad experience of shopping online? How do you
complain?
- Yes, I have had a few bad experiences shopping online. One time, I
ordered a pair of shoes that arrived in the wrong size. Another
time, I ordered a book that arrived damaged. In both cases, I was
able to resolve the issue by contacting the seller. I complain
directly or email to the seller.
3. Do you feel satisfied with the way that the shop handled
your complaint?
- Luckily, I feel statisfied, in both problems I encountered, they
resolved them for me within 1-2 days. I received a response
very quickly, they contacted me to send me a replacement.

1. Why a company need negotiation?
- First, Companies negotiate with suppliers to get the best possible
prices and terms on the goods and services they need. to reach
mutually beneficial agreements. Second, This can help to build trust
and cooperation, which can lead to long-term relationships. Last,
Companies sometimes need to negotiate with employees,
customers, to resolve conflicts and disputes.
2. What should you prepare before a negotiation?

- There are some way to finish a negotiation politely: You should
summarize the agreement. Once you have reached an agreement,
summarize the key points to ensure that you are both on the same
page. Beside that, you should End the negotiation on a positive
note by expressing your satisfaction with the outcome or your hope
for a future relationship.
4. What are some qualities of a good negotiator?
- A good negotiator has some qualities such as: That person are
well- prepared for negotiations. They research the other party and
their interests, and they develop a strategy for achieving their own
goals. Beside that, Good negotiators are persuasive. They are able
to use logic and emotion to convince the other party to accept their
proposals.
Unit 7:
1. Have you ever been in a job interview?
- Yes, I have been in a job interview before. I interviewed for a
position as a Marketer at a company. The interview was challenging,
but I learned a lot from it. I was not offered the position, but I
appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the company.

2. If yes, what can you learn from that interview?
- I can learn from my mistakes in the interview. I will recognize
my weaknesses, thereby improving those skills. By doing this, I
will have a better chance of success in future interviews.

- Try to expand your answer with 1-3 suitable sentences. You
should not speak too long for 1 answer.
- Try to use some “phrases” in speaking such as “wow, actually,
well, of course, absolutely, oh yes…..)
EXAMPLES:
1. Do you have a part-time job?
o No, I don’t. Now I’m a second-year student. I want to stay
focused for my study. I think, I will find one in the next
year.

Well, like many other graduates, I want to seek for a job. I

That’s an interesting question. Well, I think, I get married at
the age of 27 when I’m quite matured with a stable job.
