Landmark Elementary School Case Study
I am applying for $500 to begin various clubs for Landmark Elementary School. I would like to
begin various clubs in my practicum school, such as a Lego Club, a Board Games Club, a craft
club, and a crochet club. During the cold winter months, when the temperature gets very cold, often
times children cannot go outside to play during recess and lunch hour. Many of the children have
expressed interest in beginning clubs that each child could sign up for. During the cold days, when
children cannot go outside, the children who have signed up for the clubs have an activity to do
that allows them a time to get a break from their studies. The program gives children a chance to get
involved in the school, and students a place where they feel they might belong and thrive. Help the
students to learn valuable skills while allowing children a chance to explore various different
interests. Participation in a supervised constructive activity limits the time that is available... Show

One of the club the children have expressed interest in joining is a Lego Club. The Lego Club
would need Lego bricks and accessories costing $100. Another club I would like to implement is a
board game club. I think board games are a great way to teach children various learning strategies,
while having fun. The board games, such as chess pieces would cost $100. The next club I would
like to implement is a crafts club, such as card making around the holidays. The art room to hold
this club in is in need of a canvas for the tables, as well as the crafts would need various supplies
such as paint and craft paper. The canvas and the various craft supplies have been assessed at
$200. The last club I would like to implement would be a crochet club. The crochet club would need
yarn, crochet hooks, sewing thread and needles. The crochet club would need $100 to gather the
supplies to
Revenge First Dig 2 Graves Analysis
The quote When setting forth on a mission of revenge first dig 2 graves, simply brings on the idea
that revenge is never the answer. In general I think what is meant here is that when you re planning
revenge or some form of getting back at someone, you ll be doing damage to you and the person.
What I personally think is that getting revenge will only set you behind, it will slow you down from
accomplishing other things in life. In certain situations it s better to forgive and forget, even if
forgiveness wasn t the first thing on your mind to begin with. Anger is only something temporary
and you shouldn t let it control you in the heat of the moment. Understanding that anger can be the
cause of many things, anger is the reason we have many
Yes. It Was Ethical For Mander To Expose Both The Fbi And
Yes. It was ethical for Mander to expose both the FBI and NSA for their corruption. In choosing his
course of action, he did not violate any of the tenets of the Principle of Respect for Persons: he did
give every person sympathetic consideration by not rushing to judgement and taking the necessary
time to consider the evidence before forming a conclusion. Furthermore, Mander did not treat
another individual as a mere possession that was expendable. On the contrary, by exposing the FBI
and NSA for their corruption, he ensured the abuse would be uncovered, increasing the likelihood the
charges against Raheem would be dropped. By choosing to expose corrupt government agencies, he
thoroughly considered the potential repercussions his actions... Show more content on

Mander also appears to have sustained his employment and contractual obligation to his employer,
Raheem, and ACLU, as he continued to to uphold his ethical responsibilities, conduct his work in
an unbiased and uniform manner, look out for the best interests of all parties involved, and reported
the truth about his findings. Further, by exposing the NSA and FBI for their corruption, Mander
also upheld his professional obligation to both the people of the United States and the digital
forensic profession, by reporting any unethical, illegal, or incorrect behavior, upholding the trust of
the public, and looking out for their best interests. As for the consequences of his actions Mander
likely left himself, Raheem, the ACLU, Cornbelt University, and the digital forensic profession open
to gaining a more positive reputation and receiving positive press for alerting the public to the
corruption. Beyond the immediate rewards, Mander s actions have resulted in many positive
consequences, for the greatest number of individuals, as in regards to the public, their interests
would be met and justice would be served as the agencies would be held accountable for their
actions; the reputation of Raheem, Mander, the digital forensic profession, Cornbelt University, and
the ACLU would increase and be restored; and most importantly ethical standards and conduct would
be upheld. From a Utilitarian perspective, the essential
Abolish Child Labour In Canada
Despite knowing that there is child labour in Canada, the government chooses to rarely provide
advertisements to raise awareness. Many other federal governments are also like this and it is not
enough and will never be enough to diminish child labour. Governments need to begin doing more to
prevent and abolish childlabour. Overall, it is clear that child labouris any issue everywhere. It is not
only present in underdeveloped and developing countries, but also in developed countries such as
Canada and there needs to be an end to this worldwide problem.
Another large reason why child labour exists in the world today is because many companies go to
unregistered companies to get their products manufactured. The documentary Made in Bangladesh

Phobias and Addictions

PSY/300
Abstract
This essay examines phobias and addictions, how phobias can be developed through operant
conditioning and how addictions can be developed through operant conditioning. This essay also
examines the distinctions between classical and operant condition and examines extinction as it
relates to psychological theory and how extinction is achieved in classical and operant conditioning.
Phobias and Addictions Numerous psychologists believe that behaviors are learned through
conditioning. These conditionings are known as operant, which is based on individual s response to
outside stimuli, and classical conditioning, which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whereas, in operant conditioning a behavior becomes associated with an environmental effect
such as a feeling of being rewarded by performing a certain behavior. Classical conditioning is a
passive learning experience, whereas Operant conditioning is generally a more active learning
experience. What is extinction? In psychology, extinction is the gradual weakening of a
conditioned response that results in the behavior decreasing or disappearing. For example, when a
dog becomes conditioned to receiving treats due to begging, (reinforcing the behavior), the dog can
become conditioned to developing a taste for only treats. At this point the dog will stop eating its
regular diet and eat only treats. For extinction, you ignore the dogs begging for treats and eventually
this behavior will stop and the dog will resume eating its regular diet. Reinforcement is one type of
environmental consequence that controls behavior through operant conditioning; the other is
punishment, whereas reinforcement always increases the likelihood of a response, either by the
presentation of a reward or the removal of an aversive stimulus, punishment decreases the
probability that a behavior will recur (Kowalski Weston ,2009).While extinction can be actualized,
the process of disassociating a person to bring about a change in behavior can be long, and, arduous,
yet it can be an extremely rewarding journey. Extinction in classical

The Security Investigations Service Center (SISC) notified our office that Veronica Gossa, a
contract employee working under Ernst and Young, could not get a security clearance. Ms. Gossa

Abnormal Sexual Behavior In The United States
Abnormal Sexual Behavior is any action an individual takes that is related to sexual activity that is
not considered to fit social norms. Every culture may have different views on how any sexual
activity should be approached. Some Americas may not like seeing PDA (Public Displays of
Affection); however, compared to other cultures, for example, Americans are much more accepting
of seeing a kiss in the park than other cultures. Recently LGTB rights have also been more gradually
accepted in the United States. Other countries like Afghanistan, will kill an individual if he or she
enacts in homosexual behavior. Transgender, also known as GenderIdentity Disorder, issues have
also been more apparent in the social media. The use of gender specific
The Persuaders Rhetorical Analysis
When I was a kid in school, I was told that there were the basic things that you needed like clothes
and food and there were the things that you maybe want but don t really need. Advertisements do
not have any effects on what we need. We don t watch and add about how we need to eat food to
stay alive; we have hunger for that. However, Advertisements greatly affect what we want. Do we
want basic cereal or the fancy kind that athletes promote, or can we live with a plain shirt or do we
want the one with a guy riding a horse emblem? These want that stray away from our basic needs
are all driven by advertisement. No one is born wanting a Gucci shirt, they are taught and
conditioned to want one. The Frontline documentary, The Persuaders , delves into the world of
advertisement in order to explore different aspects of the industry that drives our desire.... Show more

After watching the film it is evident that the interaction between advertisements and consumers is
similar to the interactions between media and audiences. This is because advertisement is inherently
a form of media, but instead of trying to interaction the audience, it propagates a propaganda for a
specific item. You can look at the theories about mass media consumption and apply it to
advertisements. For example, in the dawn of mass media it was thought that the hypodermic needle
theory, or magic bullet theory, was how audiences reacted to the media. This theory stated that when
an audience consumed a certain facet of media like a radio talk show, the media content would be
directly injected into the audience. Therefore, the audience would automatically respond to the
stimuli. In this way the first advertisements were just information that stated that something was
better than another product in the hope that, like an injection, the information would cause the
audience to go out and buy their
From Sandwich Shop to Subway
Subway Report
Subway was founded in 1965 by Fred DeLuca and Peter Buck. The duo opened their first
sandwich shop when DeLuca was only seventeen years old. DeLuca s childhood dream was to
become a prominent doctor. Therefore, he needed to find a way to pay for his medical career. On
the other hand, Peter Buck was a family friend who offered DeLuca the possibility to become
business partners. Their first store was opened in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was called, Pete s Super
Submarines. They sold over three hundred sandwiches on the opening day. The price range for each
sandwich was between forty nine to sixty nine cents. Although they struggled for couple of years
they were optimistic. Their goal at that time was to open over thirty stores in the next ten years.
The pair wanted to create a success image. Later, Fred learned that good customer service, quality
food and low prices were important to stay in business for a long time.
In 1968, the little submarine shop changed their name to the trademark Subway. They made seven
thousand dollars only on that year. However, the duo was too ambitious to settle with that. It was in
1974, and after sixteen stores in Wallingford, Connecticut that Subway grew into a franchise. In this
way, becoming the first franchise in the United States. The mindset of DeLuca and Buck was to
allow the now chain brand, to expand countrywide. But at this point they fell half way short on their
original goal ten years ago. This
Propaganda In The Poisonwood Bible
35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy once said We must never forget that
art is not a form of propaganda; it is a form of truth (John). Though the art medium of writing,
Barbara Kingsolver sheds light on the toxic reality of propaganda and its effects. She does this
through the ostentatious character of Nathan Price, a religious zealot placed in Kilanga on a mission
to spread Christianity. He represents a poisoned mind, corrupted by the beliefs of his government. In
Barbara Kingsolvers The Poisonwood Bible, Nathan Price s despotic personality is the result of
exposure to American propaganda and government prior to his years in the Congo.

Unable to realistically view history and imperialism, Nathan believes the US to be the Congo s
savior, He believes that civilization comes to Africa only from without, from its colonizers who
import their superior cultures: The Belgians and American business brought civilization to the
Congo! American aid will be the Congo s salvation (Strehle 417). He attempts to civilize Kilanga
himself but fails to understand those that he is trying to change, much like imperialist America. Use
to the effect that his preaching had in a country in which he understood and accepted the culture,
Nathan s ineffectiveness in Kilanga leads him to the conclusion that the Congolese are the problem
and not him, In the distorted evolutionary logic of nineteenth century imperialism, Nathan considers
Africa as inadequately evolved, backward, primitive a childish culture dwarfed by its grown up
Western colonizers and thus in need of help from the advanced West. As Leah puts it, My father

Essay on Adrienne Rich s Diving Into the Wreck
Adrienne Rich uses many poetic resources in her poem Diving into the Wreck. In this poem a
diver goes on a trip to investigate a shipwreck in the socially accepted schema. Rich shifts the role
of the hero and the strategy for success in her second schema. In the second schema the hero goes on
a journey where she discovers her true identity, both female and male.
The hero prepares for the journey into the sea by reading the book of myths, collecting a camera
and knife, and putting on a diving suit. The diver is alone, unlike Jacques Cousteau, who had a
team to accompany him on his dives. She brings a camera because she will find things on her dive
that she does not want to forget. The persona wears absurd flippers and an awkward mask ... Show

The black waters can be seen as a metaphor for the realm unknown in the second schema. The
persona uses a mask to protect her from exposure, she must learn and adapt to her new
environment. The persona does not want to forget her mission, And now: it is easy to forget what I
came for (Vendler, 504). She has come to explore the truth of the wreck and she will not get
sidetracked. The diver has become a different person underwater, she even breaths differently in the
sea.
The diver comes upon the wreck and starts to explore it, she has come to see the ship s damage
and treasures. The diver states the purpose of her mission in the seventh stanza; she wants to
explore the wreck, she does not want to learn the story of the wreck. The persona is not interested
in the myth behind the wreck, she has come to witness it herself and see its threadbare beauty
(Vendler, 504). The diver can be seen as exploring the wreck in the first schema.
In the second schema the diver s exploration of the shipwreck is a metaphor for her search for the
truth. The persona sees evidence of damage on the wreck but she also sees beauty. The sea is no
longer dark and black, it is illuminated by the sun. The wreck could be a metaphor for the tragedy
women face when oppressed. The hero realizes the devastation caused when women s value is
denied, but the hero also finds the lost treasures of women.
The diver has a revelation in the eight stanza, she

The Effect Of Aggregate Demand On The Economy
As supported by the minutes released from the November meeting of the Federal Open market
Committee, the economy continues to strengthen and looks as though it will remain healthy through
the foreseeable future. The economy has returned to normalcy in terms of Consumer Price since the
hurricanes hit Florida and Texas, as evidenced by the Consumer Price Index for All Urban
Consumers: Gasoline(all types) which is portrayed in the graph below. The FOMC has also reported
that inflationis projected to remain below the two percent for at least the next two quarters. The the
inflation rate is expected to increase to two percent by the medium term which will stabilize it at the
Fed s target goal. This growth in the inflation rate is demonstrated... Show more content on

The concern with the current slow growth of the Fed Funds Rate is that there is a similar pattern as
there was prior to the decline in 2008, where inflation tanked and the Fed Funds Rate, which was
high at 4.24% was not enough to halt the inflation drop. The similar pattern in inflation and the Fed
Funds Rate can be seen in the two graphs below. If the Federal Open Market Committee does not
increase the rate of the growing Fed Funds Rate within the next few quarters the likeliness of
another recession increases. Although it would not be as extensively damaging as the recession in
2008, a recession would be nonetheless detrimental to the economy, as we would be set back in all
the economical progress that has been made in the past 10 years, as shown in the graphs above.
Currently, the Federal Reserve has set the rate to rest at a target range of 1 to 1 1/4 percent. The
Federal Open Market Committee acknowledged in their November meeting that inflation has more
headway to make until it is at the two percent mark they have set as a long term target. This
situation contains both positive and negative elements. A low inflation rate benefits consumer
confidence, because consumers are easily able to manage the gradual inflation and do not see
change reflected in day to day consumption since inflation rises slowly. However, with a low Federal
Funds Rate, and the potential for inflation to decline for any
Hamlet Foils
Decisions
In the play Hamlet, Shakespeare incorporates the theme that an individual s decisions, whether
conscious or unconscious, which are made on earth will foreshadow their outcome in the afterlife.
Shakespeare establishes this theme through the contrast of the character foils, Hamlet and Laertes.
While both characters do act upon their decisions, Shakespeare clearly shows the difference between
the influences of their actions. Hamlet commits his actions in an unconscious states as he suffered
from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which occurs when an individual has, exposure to trauma
involving death (Canadian Mental Health Association, para. 1). Therefore, predestining him to
Purgatory. Meanwhile, Laertes commits his actions in full ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This action shows that Laertes intentionally committed mortal sin, as he had, full knowledge and
consent to his actions (CCC 1857). Hence, making Laertes was aware of what he was doing and
where these actions will lead him to Hell. In addition, Laertes shows a disrespect towards the
Claudius, calling him a vile king (4.5.114). During the Elizabethan era, the King was viewed as
the messenger on earth for God (Wilson 1). With the King being viewed as God s representative,
Laertes s decision to call Claudius vile is him further condemning himself to Hell because he is
not only insulting the kill but God. According to Catholic principles,a person goes to Hell when
they, die in mortal sin without repenting and accepting God s merciful love means remaining
separated from him for ever by our own free choice (CCC 1033). In regards to Laertes s actions
and the Catholic definition of who qualifies for Hell, it is evident that Laertes is on the highway to
Hell. Thus, Laertes s destination to Hell is an predictable fate. Laertes will go to Hell an exact
result of his conscious action to sin against God and not seek out
Theme Of Love In A Midsummer Night s Dream
An Analysis of Love in A Midsummer Night s Dream
Love within the modern society has taken on a flippant meaning, depending on the phraseology
used around the context of the word. Love is used interchangeably with the idea that I love apple
pie to I love this new car to the point in which the term love is devalued within our society. How can
one say they love their spouse or children and not devalue the true meaning of this intent, when
they claim to love apple pie as well? Within the play A Midsummer Night s Dream, a careful
evaluation of the various love within the play will reveal the difference in the types of love one
might feel to describe various situations and relationships. In Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s
Dream, love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Titania wakes from a sleep to fall in love with Bottom, who has the head of an ass, while Lysander
awakes to find himself in love with Helena, who he has shown no interest prior to the application
of the love juice (Bevington, 2014, p. 55). This love juice application is the ultimate form of
forced love, in which there is manipulation of the mind to induce the love, rather than a change in
the heart to create a true love. A true love creates a romantic love in which two people feel the
love between them, and this leads into the second form of love depicted by Shakespeare, the love
described as Eros love, is the love between Lysander and Hermia. Eros love is a love that cannot
be obtained between siblings or friends, but only attainable within a form of erotic and sexual
love, as found between two lovers, such as husband and wife (Moseley, n.d.). The love between
the two of these characters is a real love that does not require a love potion to create the love.
Hermia displays this love well with her statement I would rather my father looked but with my
eyes , where she indicates the love she has for Lysander, can only be seen through the lens of her
eyes (Bevington, 2014, p. 47). This love comes from the truest sense of the word where they each
have a desire for the other, from a love that requires no outside influence or assistance, but is created
in the heart of each of the lovers. Parental
