Introduction:
Event management involves creation and development of events such as festivals, conferences,
ceremonies, formal parties, concerts or conventions. It includes identifying the target audience,
planning the event concept, organising the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects prior to
the event day. The process of coordinating the event is called event planning. It involves budgeting,
timing, selecting the venue, obtaining necessary permission, arranging entertainments, decorations,
catering and contingency plans. Many industries, organisations and groups hold events in order to

Essay on Transtheoretical Model and Chronic Stress Management
The behavior I would like to change is the management of chronic stress. Chronic stress is a
precursor for most health problems in today s society. If we look at the start of most health
problems, we can likely trace it back to chronic stress. Chronic stress releases levels of cortisol
higher than normal. Cortisol is a hormone released from someone with chronic stress, which can
which can negatively affect the body s ability to function.
Getting sick is another negative factor of being overly stressed. Chronic stress compromises your
immune system and stress hormones affect the body s ability to fight off illness due to the fact that
thymus s ability to stimulate and coordinate the white blood cell activity.
Chronic stress may be a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The whole idea behind the transtheoretical theory is that people change for different reasons. Some
are ready to change at different times than others. It is important to note that this model is
considered circular and people tend to move back and forth through these stages (Pekmezi,
Barbera, Marcus, 2010). The process of change describes how people change. These processes of
change are divided into two categories; cognitive and behavioral. Cognitive is the thinking process of
change and behavioral is the action process of change. The transtheoretical model suggests that
people use different strategies, techniques or different amounts of each at different stages in their
change process. Self efficacy refers to confidence and an individual s experience with confidence to
perform specific behaviors in specific situations. Self efficacy is a good predictor of behavior
change. An individual with higher self efficacy may be more likely to change a behavior even if the
situation doesn t have any positive reinforcements (Campbell, Eichhorn, Early, Caraccioli, Greely,
2012).
The theory has 5 stages of behavior change: pre contemplations, contemplation, preparation, action,
and maintenance. The stages of change explain when and why people change. The first stage of
change is the pre contemplation stage. During this stage people have no plans
Mardon Brothers Chapter Summaries
It all began in Central City. A forensic scientist for the C.C.P.D (Central City Police Department)
was at the scene of a murder by the infamous Mardon Brothers, two criminals who can rob banks in
the blink of an eye. The scientist s name is Barry Allen, and even though he looks happy and
cheerful, he s tormented. When he was 11 years old, his motherwas murdered by an unknown force
known as the man in the yellow suit. Barry said he saw red and yellow lightning surrounding his
mother as she screamed in the center of their living room. His dad told his little slugger three words
he would never forget: Run, Barry, run! and was whisked away about a mile from his house by the
mysterious yellow lightning. By the time Barry got home, it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Iris is dating Joe s new partner, Eddie Thawne, because Joe s old partner was shot in the face
chasing the Mardon brothers. They tried to escape by plane but the blast from the particle
accelerator cut their flight short and ended the Mardons once and for all (or did it?). Barry also finds
that he is not the same when he sees a waitress at CC Jitters, a café where Iris works, drop a tray in
slow motion and later at the police station where he super speeds to stop a criminal from taking a
cop s gun, and in an alley behind the station where he super speeds into a mattress truck. Barry then
goes back to the scientists at S.T.A.R Labs (Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow) to tell them what
happened to him and to train his newfound powers, but while he was running, he had a flashback (no
pun intended) of his mother and saw the face of the man in the yellow suit and, distracted by this
memory, he runs into a barrel and fractures a limb. Luckily, with super speed comes super healing.
He later runs into the man who robs banks followed by freak weather storms, who turns out to be
Clyde Mardon, who did not die in the plane crash, but gained weather powers. When Barry tried to
tell Joe, he grew frustrated at Barry s crazy supernatural theories: There s no controlling the weather,
Barry. Just
Farrall
A young boy tracks down a gunslinger to help him get revenge on the people who killed his parents
and brother.

BRIEF SYNOPSIS
ACER THORPE (11) lives with his father, VERNON THORPE (36), his pregnant mother, HOPE
THORPE (24), and his younger brother BROGAN THORPE (8). Acer wants to learn how to shoot a
gun, but his father refuses. He doesn t believe guns are the answer.
Acer runs into a gunslinger, BLAKE STONE (58), who helps him get back home. Vernon
recognizes Blake from a wanted poster. He has a bounty of $2000 on his head. He doesn t want
Blake at his home.
A businessman, MIKE FARRALL (55), who owns the town, including the SHERIFF HUNTER,
threatens to take away Vernon s farm unless he pays a fake bill.
Acer sneaks out of the home and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They share nice chemistry with each other. It s fun to watch when Blake taught Acer to shoot. The
audience easily root for the both of them.

The main antagonist, Farrall, is actually underwritten. He s definitely a worthy adversary and the
audience finds him to be despicable, but he goes missing from the story after the murder and only
comes back at the very end. Thus, he s not a very consistent or relentless foe.
The dialogue is solid in that it s authentic to the culture and time. The dialogue reveals information
about the characters and their values and motivation. However, the script does seem to rely a bit too
much on dialogue, which also hinders the pace.
To sustain the tension the story offers various obstacles, but as mentioned, it slows the pace and it s
not directly connected with the main goal making the structure feel fragment.
One would have rather have watched Blake and Acer track down the men responsible for the family s
death, one by one and get their revenge while overcoming obstacles.
Thus, in summary, the challenge in creating a compelling western is to find a new hook to a familiar
plotline. There might be something new about the characters that help create a more refreshing
hook. Try to create original

The environment the teacher creates is instrumental to encouraging or inhibiting learning. It is my
job to create a dynamic, exciting, and interconnected environment that encourages students to be part
of thought provoking conversation and potential learning opportunities. Specifically, when teaching
social studies, it is crucial I treat subject matter as interconnected, emphasizing that everything
students are learning fits together into a complete understanding of the world, from which they
develop their personal global perspective.
Finally, I believe the concept of respect must be present and felt by my students and colleagues. Not
only to respect and be open to the content presented in class, but also to motivate them to respect
themselves, each other and members of our global community.

Experience is the Key

I consider three overarching goals to each teaching moment I am presented with, each of them
embedded in my conception of teaching as a temptation to Experience. First, I ask students to
experience the specific course content. As a teacher of social studies, I see my task as creating
spaces for students to encounter and discuss at both a personal and professional level fundamental
questions of power, justice, identity, equity, and freedom. Asking my students to experience the
course content also means encouraging active and participatory learning.
Second, I ask students to experience moments with me and with each other. I model and clearly lay

My Importance Of Academic Interests In High School
My academic interests throughout the years have really changed and evolved as I have matured
as a student. Since I started school, I ve always had an appreciation for academics and the various
subjects that I learned. I would attribute this to the fact that I was able to work with and learn
from students, teachers or friends that were passionate about a particular subject, helping me
understand a subject s value even if it did not particularly interest me. By having this exposure
during my formative years where I learned to think independently, I came to cherish my own
education in addition to realizing the importance and value education can hold for others. As I
grew older and began to think for myself, I developed an affinity towards math and science. I
would attribute this to the fact that my mind is more analytical than creative, leading me to find
interest in areas of study that progress logically and introduce concepts that can be built on top of
each other. Once I got to high school, the science classes that I took started to utilize concepts from
mathematics and vice versa. I was particularly interested when concepts and ideas stemming from a
variety of fields were put together in order to accomplish something practical. I began to seek out
articles and videos online to further develop my knowledge of technology and scientific phenomena.
At the end of my junior year, I was motivated to seek out and apply for various research
opportunities that involved working

My School Day
The school dismissal bell has just rung and I walk slowly towards the back of the building
towards the athletic wing. As I walk towards the trophy case, I am walking by memory because i
am distracted by my own thoughts floating through my head of all the things I need to do before
the day ends. My ends go back to focus and I find myself with the rest of my cross country team.
Today is Tuesday, and we have a meet. Tuesday is the longest day of my week. After going to
school for seven hours, I have to travel to a park to run five kilometers in a face paced
environment. I then come back nearly dusk, and finally go home where my schoolwork awaits.
After being up and going for have the day I am fine with sitting down for a few hours to complete
my assignments. The whole team is now changed into their uniforms and there is now a line of
girls braiding one another s hair. We wait for the call of our coach to arrive and for the first glimpse
of our bus. As we wait many girls are proactive on one side of the table trying to complete some of
their homework while the other end of the table discusses their school day and the events that took
place whether if it was seeing their crush or complaining about their spanish teacher giving them
too much work. I varied each time whether I wanted to get ahead of my work or I just wanted to talk
to a friend to discharge all my worries.

Unit 1.4 Research
1.4 Research Issues and Challenges Spatial data is a costly resource to generate and maintain,
spatial data consumers have been unable to accurately and conveniently link with other spatial data
users to share and discover useful and relevant data. There is problem of insufficient and
inappropriate metadata available for the clearinghouse, metadata problems impact on effective
spatial data use. The following are examples of issues associated with spatial metadata: Metadata
records are absent or incomplete for some datasets. In such cases, if the contents or structure of the
acquired data is difficult to understand, the user could be limited in effective use of the data. For
instance, the metadata may contain missing elements such as: spatial reference information, scale,
data currency and data originator contact details. If such relevant information like spatial reference is
missing, this could delay or prevent further application of the data [27].... Show more content on

Metadata should be as current as the data. In other words, when data is created or edited, its
metadata should .immediately be created or updated to reflect data changes. However, creating and
updating metadata requires a substantial quantity of work and time. For this reason, data holdings
are largely left unchecked for their appropriate age and structure to verify which data should be
maintained, updated or deleted. Therefore, institutional spatial data memory could be lost through
inappropriate storage of metadata records. Furthermore, outdated metadata could misinform and
confuse users about the data
Elephant Man Essay
Ashley Montagu tells John Merrick amp;#8217;s unusual story in the book that studies human
dignity, The Elephant Man. The Elephant Man, an intriguing book that captures the heart of the
spirit, is the story of a simple, yet unfortunate, man. It causes one to think about life amp;#8217;s
precious gifts and how often they are taken for granted. As the sad and unique story of John Merrick,
amp;#8220;the elephant man, ; unfolds, all are taught a lesson about strength and courage.
When Sir Frederick Treeves first discovered John Merrick in 1884, he could only be described as,
amp;#8220;a huddled mass of loneliness ;(14). Merrick had a horrible disease called elephantiasis.

With the help of his new friend Frederick Treeves, he even attended plays and went for walks. He
lived happily at the hospital for almost seven more years where compassionate people frequently
visited him. Even people of royalty paid him visits. No matter how ill treated he may have been, no
one ever heard John Merrick complain about his hideous looks or his horrible life. With outstanding
endurance, he proves to the world what a truly heroic person can do.
The Elephant Man, an intriguing and well written book, also captures the true essence of John
Merrick amp;#8217;s life. The context of the book asserts descriptiveness and easily captures the
interest of the reader. When Treeves first viewed the amp;#8220;elephant man, ; he states:
The showman pulled back the curtain and revealed a bent figure crouching on a stool and covered
by a brown blanket. In front of it, on a tripod, was a large brick heated by a Bunsen burner. Over
this the creature was huddled to warm itself . . . this hunched up figure was the embodiment of
loneliness (47).
Descriptions such as these paint the sad but vivid picture of the life John Merrick led. While
writing his story, Montagu made a point of using photographic words to set up the scene he wanted
to describe. His detailed writings helped the story move along. In addition to the viewpoint of
Frederick Treeves, Montagu included many other

Throughout Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude by Ross Gay, Gay shows how nature controls
emotional responses, forces and other higher or more powerful things. Furthermore, nature brings
about unnatural aspects causing greater control of forces in nature, and outside of the natural realm.
Many cycles revolve around nature producing a circle, or cycle, of life that changes depending on
different things. Even more, nature can interact with man made things in ways that disrupt it. Gay
portrays nature as a commanding force, something that s located everywhere. Also, it shows how the
nature forces have consequential reactions, resulting in everything being controlled by nature.

Antiblack Racism
Antiblack racism still exists. This is an unfortunate fact, but a true one. It does not exist in terms of
segregation, Black Codes, Jim Crow Laws, or slavery anymore, but there are still numerous
examples of racism in the world. One example, which may come as a surprise, is found in the
United States justice system. But how could a nation who stands behind freedom and equality have
a corrupt system of justice for its citizens? While not all parts of the system contradict themselves,
prisoninstitutions are a profound example of racism in the justice system. A multitude of
examples exist, but the best ones come from current and ex convicts as they are living the
example and telling the story, as well as civil rights advocates who work to analyze these
situations and offer ideas for reform. Works such as Are Prisons Obsolete? by Angela Y. Davis,
Soul On Ice by Eldridge Cleaver, The Essential Etheridge Knight by Etheridge Knight, and
Bastards of the Reagan Era by Reginald Dwayne Betts are only a few examples of novels and
poetry that expose the racist inclinations of the United States prison system. Written by esteemed
scholars and academics, current and ex convicts, all authors detail the struggle and need for racial
reform in the nation s prison system. Are Prisons Obsolete? by Angela Y. Davis is one novel that
exploits the racism that occurs in the nation s prison systems. Davis brings the concept of a black
criminal and the idea of crime with color to light.
