Salina Health Care Center ( Sfhc )
Introduction
Salina Health Education Foundation, founded in 1979 and Salina Care founded in 1991, merged
in 2004 to form Salina Family Health Care Center (SFHC). Since the inception the clinic has
served Saline County with health and dental care for uninsured and low income residents. In
addition the clinic has provided residency programs for family medicine physicians for future roles
as providers to rural Kansas towns. In December of 2004 SHEF became a Federally Qualified Health
Center (FQHC). Following in 2009, SHEF transformed the practice into a patient centered healthcare
home. Through this work, SHEF redefined its mission to: provide excellent healthcare in a patient
centered setting that fosters education, all in a positive work ... Show more content on

The following questions were answered in line with the 2013 CLAS Standards.
The Principal Standard: Provide effective, equitable, understandable, and respectful quality care and
services that are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred languages,
health literacy, and other communication needs.
Mrs. Mack replied this standard was a broad standard and went on to address each aspect of the
standard in great detail.
The effectiveness of the health care we provide at Salina Family Health Care is measured
routinely. For example, there is a health care plan that encompasses 16 different aspects of health
care that we ve determined to be important to our patient population. For these 16 goals we have
34 specific interventions we ve implemented to help us achieve these goals. We receive a monthly
report of our progress toward meeting these goals which might include getting blood pressure
readings below 140/90, catching women up who need a pap smear or encouraging smoking
cessation in persons who smoke. This health care plan drives our practice and the feedback we
receive for our efforts guide our practice daily.
The care we provide at Salina Family Health Care I would consider to be equitable. We provide
services to anyone who is alive, very simply put. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender,
color, nationality, residency status, ability or disability, or whether or not they can pay for
Essay on The Three Elements of the Female Athlete Triad
The Three Elements of the Female Athlete Triad

For an increasing number of women in the United States, a concern or preoccupation with body
weight and size is a constant pressure. Female athletes, like most women in our society, are also
often pressured to conform to certain ideal body sizes and shapes, as dictated by the entertainment
and fashion industries. Female athletes, however, face a twofold pressure. They face the burden that
our culture places on all women to be thin, but they also face the burden from coaches, parents, and
other athletes to succeed in sports and look good doing so by maintaining an unrealistically low
weight. When weight gain means removal from a team or elimination from competition, many
female athletes turn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This term refers to a wide range of abnormal behaviors, the extremes of which are anorexia
nervosa and bulimia nervosa, but also includes limiting caloric intake, skipping meals, using diet
pills, and many other pathogenic weight control behaviors. Having stated these limitations, there
are a number of studies which do in fact indicate that female athletes struggle more with eating
disorders than average females. Studies report that the rate of disordered eating among female
athletes may be as high as 62% in certain sports (Yeager, Agostini, Nattiv, and Drinkwater, 1993).
While a study of college female swimmers found 15.4% were affected, a study of college gymnasts
showed that 62% of collegiate female athletes had seriously abnormal eating patterns. Smith (1996)
found that disordered eating is most common among those in appearance sports, such as gymnastics,
ballet, figure skating, equestrian sports, and diving. However, disordered eating behavior can be
seen in other sports in which appearance is not as important, such as tennis, swimming, and running.
Skolnick (1993) also notes that another study of 182 female athletes, who participated in a variety
of college sports, found that 32% showed disordered eating patterns. Margot Putukian, MD (1998)
reports in Clinics in Sports Medicine that a study of college athletes found 32% practiced some form
of pathogenic weight control behavior, and 70% believed their behavior was harmless.

The Importance Of Commercial Buildings In The Ottoman Empire
Secondly, commercial buildings were so popular in Cairo because it was already a major trading
point for the Ottoman Empire. The different type of commercial buildings were wikalas, khans,
qaisariyas, suqs, and funduqs. Ismail explains that these type of buildings existed since the
Mameluke Empire period, but they were kept being built during the Ottoman Empire, with some
minor changes.

The wikalas were buildings located within the city walls and had a design that had shops on the
ground floor that faced onto courtyards and a rab system (living quarters) on the upper floors.
Some of the shops from the ground level had special designs in their facades that allowed the
merchants to display the imported goods that they had for sale. The building had only one
entrance per each facade, and each of them led to the open central courtyard that aside from shops,
had storerooms for the merchant s goods. To get access to the upper floors, people had to use
staircases that were usually placed in a corner of the facades (Ismail 2005).

The khans and funduqs were buildings that had combined functions of hostel and trading centre and
were used mostly by traveling merchants and visitors to the city. These buildings were built mostly
near the trading routes outside the city, and they required towers for extra protection, however,
some of them were located inside the city and did not required to be fortified because of it. A major
difference is that these buildings did not had shops in
Buddhism In Hermann Hesse s Siddhartha
Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse, is about a Hindu Brahman Prince and his close friend from India
who are on a spiritual journey to find truth and reach enlightenment. In Buddhism, one s goal is to
obtain enlightenment and reach Nirvana; a state in which the mind is enlightened, transcending all
suffering and achieving peace (Merriam Webster). To reach Nirvana, the individual must escape
Samsara the eternal cycle of birth, suffering, death and rebirth (Merriam Webster). Unable to find
truth and knowledge, Siddharthaand Govinda leave the Brahmins to join the Samanas, the Ascetics
or holy men. Both give up all material comfort and empty themselves letting all desires die. Not
finding satisfaction, they move on. Govinda decides to follow Gotama... Show more content on

Siddhartha, the handsome Brahmin s son (page 3) has trouble losing himself, and often jumps from
place to place seeking satisfaction. For example, Siddhartha tells Govinda, the wheel of appearances
revolves quickly[...] where is Siddhartha the Brahmin [...] the Samana[...] the rich man? The
transitory soon changes (page 94). The quote explains that Siddhartha was once each of these men,
and that he seeks something more than what he has experienced before. He continues to try and find
contentment wherever an opportunity arises. After removing himself from the material world,
Siddhartha goes to the river to learn from the ferryman, Vasudeva, how to operate the boat, and
ultimately to reach enlightenment. From Vasudeva, Siddhartha learns to listen to the river.
Vasudeva, the ferryman, also reaches enlightenment though the river. Vasudeva is a spiritual guide
for Siddhartha on his journey. When he first meets Siddhartha as a Semana he tells him, I have
learned from the river[...] everything comes back. You, too, Samana, will come back (page 49).
Siddhartha does return to the river, and when Vasudeva recognizes him, he embraces him and agrees
to teach him the ways of the river. Through the river Siddhartha learns the rivers ways and reaches
enlightenment with the help of
Behavior Analysis, Health Care Professionals, And...
Punishment vs Reinforcement
Behavior analysis, health care professionals, and psychologists require competent procedures to find
responses to relevant questions and to stay current with scientific literature. Behavior analyses use
the best research that is evidence based that supports clinical expertise and patient values (Walker,
2007). It makes significant differences in how effective more or less interventions are with clients,
their families and society (Slocum, 2012). Clients deserve the best care and expertise that they can
receive when it comes to their health and well being. Therefore, behavior analysis use work as a
psychology professional to ensure the best type of interventions and therapy is provided to their
clients. Before implementing a behavior change a functional assessment must be completed on the
client.
Functional Assessment
Behavior analyses conduct an assessment plan before any treatment plan can be implemented.
Applied behavior analysis (ABA) need to take the whole client into account when collecting data for
an assessment. Knowing the clients demographic background can allow us to have a thorough
understanding of developing an effective intervention plan for the client. Assessments also include
demographic information such as age and sex of the client, their diagnosis, family structure.
Assessments include who, what, when, and how you will evaluate the clients target behaviors.
Assessments are done in home, school and clinical settings. Information
Making The American Workforce A Friendly Place For Women...
We all had a teacher in school who took maternity leave. This standard, dictated by the 1993
federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), applies not only to teachers but to women of all
professions and allows mothers to take up to twelve weeks of protected, but unpaid leave (Cohn 9).
This period, however, is not long enough for the mother and child to fully recover. Providing longer
maternity leaves would also benefit businesses and the American society. Many countries around the
world provide significantly longer leaves or even allow fathers to take paid paternity leaves.
Making the American workforce a friendly place for women and families through revised maternity
leavepolicies will benefit both the U.S. economy and U.S. families.
Incomes in the U.S. are currently falling, particularly among low income families. Because one
income is no longer enough to support the family, it is now necessary for many women to bring
home a paycheck as well. (Warner 27). Having young children while working is difficult for many
women in the U.S. workplace. In fact, thirty five percent of U.S. women have cited work and
family balance as their largest, single concern (Appelbaum and Milkman 8). For this reason, many
developed countries around the world devote resources to providing for their young families
because they are aware of the role that women play in sustaining the country. In 2014, eleven
countries provided at least one hundred weeks of protected leave and the majority of
