Open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses radio waves and a magnetic field to show images and
structures in the human body. Because computerized tomography (CT) scans, ultrasounds and x rays
all have limitations on what images they can show, an MRI is often preferable to doctors when
trying to diagnose what is wrong with a patient. The test is non invasive and does not cause any pain.
The exam requires that the patient lie very still while the machine brings the patient into the
machine. A closed MRI machine consists of a tube that completely envelopes the patient. Because
the exam takes 30 minutes to two hours and requires the patient to lie still, some patients experience
claustrophobia as a result. An open MRI exam can help patients who have... Show more content on

The patient lies on a flat table and doesn t have to position their body in any awkward ways in
order to fit into the machine. Because of the open configuration, the part of the body that is of
interest can be centered in the magnetic field. This allows for a sharper image and better details.
Patients are allowed to wear headphones and listen to music in order to drown out any machine
sounds that can cause nervousness or fear. Benefits of an Open MRI An open MRI may be
especially helpful for: Overweight or obese patients who may not fit comfortably in a closed
MRI machine. Young children who want a caregiver to stay close by during the test. Older adults
who need assistance. Orthopedic patients who need an image of an extremity that is difficult to
position properly in a closed maxchine. Patients who are claustrophic or nervous about being in
closed spaces. Open MRI Procedure The patient will first be asked to change into a gown and to
remove anything magnetic, such as jewelry, hearing aids or glasses. The patient will then lie down
on a movable table. A dye may be injected through an IV line to enhance the tissues and structures
that are being examined. The patient should lie as still as possible during the test. Open MRI exams
allow pediatric, bariatric, elderly and orthopedic patients a better option than the more confining
closed MRI. The open view can cut down on stress and nervousness during the
Middle School Students Allowance
Many students often feel bad about begging their parents for money. Guilt is an emotion that is
difficult to overcome. Middle school students should have an allowance because chores will be
completed, parents will save, and kids can save their money. Students should have allowance
because parents can charge students per chore they do. Most parents can have students work and
clean for money. It ll teach students to do things on their own. After chores are done students can
later on relax and do anything else they need to do . Therefore chores will be a light task for
students and parents. Having money for students will save parents money. When parents give their
own children allowance, the children will have money of their own to buy things.
Let s Not Put A Cap On It
One of the most debatable topics in Major League Baseball (MLB) is whether a salary cap should
be implemented for each team in the league. A salary cap is an agreement between teams that
places a limit on the amount of money that can be spent on player salaries (Britana). Of the three
American major professional sports, football, baseball, and basketball, Major League Baseballis the
only one that does not have a salary cap. There is more competitiveness with baseball than any
other sport. As Demause states, Depending on whom you ask, a salary cap would save the game,
destroy the players union, provide hope for small market fans, pervert the free market, or create a
tangle or red tape that would turn every trade deadline into a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The available resources of the teams would first have to go to salaries; if there is any excess cash,
then they could recruit, build a new stadium, or develop new talent. Many times there would not
be any available cash left after meeting the salary floor, so these essential expenses of baseball
would not be met. Talent evaluation and development is much different in baseball than in other
sports. Baseball has many more available athletics to choose from than professional football and
basketball. The NFL has seven rounds in its draft for rookie players; the NBA only has two.
These drafts are dwarfs in comparison to the Major League Draft which consists of fifty rounds.
These fifty rounds do not even consider the thirty percent of major league baseball players who
are from outside of the United States and Canada (Silver xliv). These players are signed as free
agents with the overwhelming majority coming from Latin America. Each major league team
usually has six minor league teams where they develop talent which is referred to as farm teams.
What this means is there a larger talent pool in baseball from which to select players to help you
win games. Baseball more than any sport, is heavily dependent on player statistics. Advanced
analytical methods called sabermetrics throws away traditional baseball such as the batting average
to a more effective way to assess players and often used to measure future productivity (Kendrick).

Coming of Age in Mississippi Essay example
The first main event that I believe led to Anne Moody becoming an activist for Civil Rights was
when she was younger, her cousin George Lee was babysitting and he burned down the house in
a fit of rage and when Daddy gets home he blames it on Essie Mae (Anne Moody). This
foreshadows all of life s injustices that will be thrown her way. The next time was when she made
friends with white neighbors and they decided to go to the movies, Anne couldn t sit with her
friends, she had to sit in the balcony with all of the other blacks. She did not understand why it was
this way. Another event was when she was in high school, she changes her name to Anne Moody, and
a white boy, whose name was Emmitt Till who was visiting from Chicago, whistled at a... Show

She showed them that they could be equal. The only difference was the color of the skin. She taught
them that that wasn t even a big difference. She fought segregation her entire life.
The most drastic incident that happened to Anne was when she was working in Canton, Mississippi
for a cause of voter registration. People involved in the movement are dying left and right, and this
becomes very discouraging to her. She finds out that she is on the KKK black list and fears for
her life. She finds out that her family is also afraid and they stop talking to her. She quits her job
and moves back to Canton and goes back to her family. She sees how complacent her family is and
this frustrates her. Her family treated her like a stranger, and when she graduated from Tougaloo, no
one showed up for her graduation. In the end of the book, McKinley is murdered in front of
nonviolent civil rights activists. Anne Moody wonders if things will ever work out.
Growing up in the north, and being white, we were taught in school what the conditions were in
the south and all over America for blacks. I never really thought much of it, like many kids my age,
because it never affected me. I ve been told by teachers, speakers, and whoever else my school
would bring in to tell us about what it was like for blacks back in the 1940 s and the 1950 s. After I
read the book, Coming of Age in Mississippi, I realized what it was really like
Okonkwo Of Okonkwo
Okonkwo was known throughout the nine villages and even beyond. His fame rested on solid
personal achievements. As a young man of eighteen he had brought honour to his village by
throwing Amalinze the Cat. Amalinze was the great wrestler who for seven years was unbeaten,
from Umuofia to Mbaino. He was called the Cat because his back would never touch the earth. It
was this man that Okonkwo threw in a fight which the old men agreed was one of the fiercest
since the founder of their town engaged a spirit of the wild for seven days and seven nights. The
drums beat and the flutes sang and the spectators held their breath. Amalinze was a wily
craftsman, but Okonkwo was as slippery as a fish in water. Every nerve and every muscle stood
out on their arms, on their backs and their thighs, and one almost heard them stretching to
breaking point. In the end Okonkwo threw the Cat. That was many years ago, twenty years or
more, and during this time Okonkwo s fame had grown like a bush fire in the harmattan. He was
tall and huge, and his bushy eyebrows and wide nose gave him a very severe look. He breathed
heavily, and it was said that, when he slept, his wives and children in their houses could hear him
breathe. When he walked, his heels hardly touched the ground and he seemed to walk on springs,
as if he was going to pounce on somebody. And he did pounce on people quite often. He had a
slight stammer and whenever he was angry and could not get his words out quickly enough, he
would use
The Remains Of The Day And White
The Remains of the Day and White is for Witching, like many other books, has an underlying tone
of racial, social, and political issues. Not only that they are both similar in some ways when it
comes to addressing race and social structure in our society.
Helen Oyeyemi who is the writer of White is for Witching. Which is a novel were she put her own
personal experiences such as her eating disorder and how they are preserved, how her immigrant
family was treated, and the idea that the lighter your skin was the better or higher your social
standing was. The novel mainly focuses on a girl named Miranda who has an eating disorder that
gives her an appetite for non food items such as chalk and plastic spoons, which happen to be
Miranda s favorite. Like many in her situation, including Helen Oyeyemi, do not believe that they
have a problem, they just wanted to eat what they like whenever they wanted or didn t. Unlike
Miranda s family who saw that she had a problem and tried to help her, Oyeyemi s family were
determined to not see her little problem as a real issue and allowed her to continue to suffer.
Miranda s father Luc blamed himself Miranda s condition became chronic he thought that somehow
he was responsible. (Oyeyemi 14). Which is very common since most families feel that no matter
what they do they are just making the situation worse. Oyeyemi also allowed her audience to see
through the eyes of those who have watched a family members go through these terrible ailments.
Case Study Of Ragi Snacks
Opening Case let We received a huge response for our Kay brand . I think this is the correct time
to introduce our new snack under Kay brand , suggested Hari, Marketing Head of ABC
condiments. ABC condiments is the producer of sweets and savouries with an authentic Indian
flavour. One of its brand Kay Snacks is very popular among customers for its freshness and
crispiness. Hari, Seema, Sudha and Virat are in a discussion to introduce a new variety of ragi
snack under the brand Kay . I too agree with Hari! said Production Head, Seema. Correspondingly,
we have to decide about the lot size of production of this ragi snack , she added. We should know
the sales and demand forecast for that first , said Hari. In our department, we should check the
machine and labour capacity to produce and need to set up quality control standards , said Seema.
I need to check whether it is possible to supply the raw materials on time. For that, I want to take a
stock report and delivery schedule from our suppliers , joined Virat, Inventory Head. I would
appreciate if each of you give a quotation for your department so that I get the budget sanction from
the management , said Sudha, Finance Head. In the meantime, I... Show more content on
