Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)

What is CCE?

CCE stands for Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation. It is a system of school-based assessment that

focuses on the overall development of students - not just their marks in exams.

Main Goals:

- To improve learning.

- To reduce exam stress.

- To check both academic and non-academic growth.

Continuous Evaluation

"Continuous" means that the evaluation is done regularly and consistently throughout the year - not just at the

end in exams.

Key Points:

- Teachers observe students daily (through classwork, homework, behavior).

- It helps in tracking progress all the time.

- Provides timely feedback to improve learning.

- Helps in identifying learning gaps and providing remedies.

Comprehensive Evaluation

"Comprehensive" means covering all areas of student development, including:

- Academic skills

- Co-curricular activities (sports, art, music, etc.)

- Personal traits, behavior, values, and life skills

It focuses on:

1. Cognitive domain - Thinking and learning skills

2. Conative domain - Effort and motivation

3. Affective domain - Emotions, values, and behavior

Types of Evaluation under CCE

1. Formative Evaluation

- Done during the teaching process

- Helps in identifying strengths and weaknesses

- Includes: Class tests, Quizzes, Assignments, Projects, Oral answers, activities

2. Summative Evaluation

- Done at the end of a term/unit

- Measures what the student has learned

- Like a traditional exam/test

- Drill and practice work

- Assignments and homework

- Projects and practical work
