America In Retreat Summary
Bret Stephens, author of the book America in Retreat , is definitely qualified to write this book.
Stephens was educated at the University of Chicago and the London School of Economics.
Stephens has also been a writer in the field of international relations for years and the winner of
the 2013 Pulitzer Prize. Stephens wrote America in Retreat to explain why modern politics
should be conducted in a formal and acceptable manor under American leadership and
supervision. He also provides sturdy reasoning as to how unqualified Europe is to lead during
times of political or economic challenged resolutions. The general idea of the book is that
America is a world super power and sets the bar for world order. The US no matter how bad it
wants to retreat cannot because of it being a world dominating leader. Throughout the book
Stephens implies that disruption and chaos in the world will in turn be a domino effect that will
just lead to more and more chaos. He states that the only way for the US to assert its power and
show its presence to keep chaos at bay... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The book over all is about foreign policy and America being a super power and world leader. This
in turn shares what one individual thinks America should go about doing it in the future and what
he thinks America has done bad or wrong in the past. This is essentially the opinion on one way
for things to be done by an individual who has a strong argument and evidence to back his claim
up. Overall the book is very good and has strong evidence persuading you to see the author s point
of view and why the author feels the way he does. Someone who should read this book would be
someone who wishes to be enlightened on foreign policy because the book destroys myths that
surround this topic. This book allows the reader to understand exactly what America s interests are
in engaging foreign policy for the gain of America and other nations as

The Myth Of The Cherokee Indians
There are many religions in this world and many creation myths that accompany those religions.
Each religion has its own unique viewpoint on how the world came to be. The Cherokee myth I
have chosen is something that may seem outrageous to the outsider, but it is how the Cherokee
Indians have viewed their creation for many years.
The Cherokee believed that before their world as they know it began, it was just water. All the
animals lived in a land called Galun lati that was above the water (in the sky), but it was
overcrowded. A water beetle, named Dayuni si, volunteered to explore the water beneath them.
Dayuni si was unable to find solid ground on the surface of the water, but dove below the surface
and only found mud. The beetle brought the mud to the water s surface and it began to grow and
spread out. This mud became the Earth, as the Cherokee Indians knew it. Later the Earth was tied
to the sky with a string at each of the corners ( Native American Myths of Creation ). The Earth
was too wet so the animals sent the Great Buzzard from Galun lati and told him to go and make it
ready for them. He flew all around the land, but it was still soft. By the time he had traveled to
Cherokee country, he was tired as his wings flapped the ground, they created mountains and valleys.
The animals concluded that the land was too dark so they made the sun and gave it a path to travel
on each day from the east to the west. After the plants and animals, humans were created. They

Cesar Chavez Union Leader
Effort, hard work, dedication and desire for justice are some of the adjectives that describe the
union leader Cesar Chavez. Below I ll explain the efforts that this man did to fight for the
improvement of working conditions for migrant laborers in the farms.
Chavez was an American union leader; born on March 31, 1927 near Yuma (Arizona) and died on
April 23, 1993 in San Luis (Arizona). Cesar Chavez was the founder of la
Unidad de los Trabajadores Agricolas in 1964. He brought together migrant laborers, mostly
Hispanic, to fight for improved working conditions.
During World War II, Cesar Chavez served our country in the Navy. After servicing for 2 years, he
returned to Arizona to work in the field where his family and he worked their entire life. In 1952 he
started as an advisor in the Organization of
Community Services (OSC). His great organizational skills made him the director of the
CSO in 1958; he resigned after four years to work on the creation of an agricultural union to fight
for labor rights of Chicano population. In 1962, Cesar founded the National
Farm Workers Association, later become the United Farm Workersor UFW. During all the social
issues that touched the American society in 1968, Cesar Chavez won a significant public relevance
to launch a nationwide boycott against the producers of grapes in California to obtain a fairer deal
for the seasonal grape pickers.
Political Correctness In America
Merry Christmas! I am sorry if that offended you, perhaps the term Happy Holidays is more
soothing to you. There exists a possibility that even Happy Holidays is offensive to you and that
you simply do not celebrate anything in December. Further still, you could be offended by the
assumption I made that you celebrated any sort of religious or government mandated holiday at
all. Political correctness in America is something we have all experienced whether you been
offended by something or have been offensive to someone else. The term political correctness can
be precarious because I believe it to be a form of censorship and that is can be used as shackle for
artistic creativity and how it divides society as a whole. I want to prove that political correctness is
a dangerous pandemic in America. In my opinion, political correctness could be seen as the
antithesis of the concepts of freedom of speech and freedom of expression. It allows people to
simply label anything that offends them or any subject they disagree upon as being politically
incorrect. The beginning of this essay, Merry Christmas, is still a controversial subject... Show more

It forces us to choose our words and expressions wisely when we interact with those that are
different from us for fear of offending them. This typically puts people into groups that are in
agreement with most things creates sort of a hive mind in my opinion. You have a group of
people that share the same basic ideas and even when they do not they still naturally follow along.
If people were to actually form their own ideas and not be afraid to share them I believe that
society as a whole could benefit. People need to stop being so offended by everything that see and
hear. They need to understand that others will have differing opinions and just accept it and move
on or debate the issue and see if you can make a convincing
