The Learning Environment
1. The learning environment is dynamic and will be different for each training situation. Among the
individual variables that can impact the learning environment include personality traits (especially
extraversion) and communication styles. Personality traits and differences among individual
participants will be most evident in the first few hours, or perhaps sessions, of the training because
the participants have not yet had time to relax into their new environment. Learningstyles will also be
different among the participants, which will showcase personality trait differences even more. A
trainer can easily work with a variety of people and different learning and personality styles by
developing a dynamic and diverse training system. The learning environment should be one that
promotes inclusivity, to allow different types of people to have the opportunity to engage in the
training. Communication styles can create problems, which trainers do need to understand when
designing the learning environment. Ensuring that people can interact with the trainer and provide
feedback will minimize problems that arise when people do not express their concerns openly.
Listening carefully to all participants, even when they have a complaint, is essential.
Environmental factors that impact the learning environment range from temperature to aesthetics.
Participants need to be comfortable during training, or else their concentration will wane. Therefore,
temperature needs to be maintained
What We Saw Theme
What We Saw in black and white

Black and White, what comes to mind besides two colors? These colors have always represented
Good and Bad, people have avoided the gray area in between for centuries but it has always been
there. In Aaron Hartzler s first fiction novel What We Saw, this representation of good and bad was
presented often. The line between black and white was crossed many times by Kate but in the end
she stepped in between. A high school party filled with booze started the entire plot off. A horrid
act done by 4 high school boys is what made Kate fall into the gray along with her finally seeing
people as not just black and white but also gray. In the story Aaron Hartzler presents that not
everyone and everything is all good and white and not everything is all bad, Aaron helped show the
gray in the situation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kate did not see everyone in the white area, however her fault was believing that certain people
could never do anything wrong. Even in the beginning, when she states to her mother that Ben
didn t ever mess up. (2) She was later proven wrong when Ben does something or rather doesn t do
something during the party. The importance of the theme in this novel is shown with the main
characters struggles towards the situation and what happened along with who was there. For me
this theme comes around very often. Seeing the world in black and white would be the same as
turning a blind eye to every wrong going on in the chaos that is the world. There is nothing
wrong with seeing the good in people, however never looking past that to the gray can cause for
strife. For me this theme is of importance in a way that helps me realize how I see people can affect
my view on the world and how I see good and
Eco Friendly, Green, Earth, Dirt, Recycle, Reuse
When you think about the word sustainable, what comes to mind? Eco friendly, green, Earth, dirt,
recycle, reuse, reduce. It is a word that is being thrown out there a lot. But, what is it really? The
real dictionary definition of sustainability is: capable of being sustained, of, relating to, or being a
method of harvesting or using a resource so that the resource is not depleted or permanently
damaged. In other words, and ones you will actually understand, to be sustainable means that you
take out of a system the same amount of energy as you put in, with no pollution or waste. Or quite
literally the ability to sustain. For example, if you take down a tree, you must make sure to plant
one or even two in its place, and you must do it by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like any other sustainable company, for the ones in fashion it is nearly impossible to be truly
sustainable. This is because the concept of fashion is one of change, and the process of constant
change generally produce a lot of waste. Basically, this cycle is referring to the things in your
closet that you only wore once and by the time you wanted to wear it again it was out of style , so
you simply don t wear it again and buy something that is in style . It s ok, we are all guilty of this at
one point. Many people have unfortunately moved more towards overconsumption and the desire to
pay the least possible price for the most products.
2 You may be wondering how this whole sustainable fashion movement began. Well, many scholars
believe that the sustainable fashion movement can be traced back to the 1960s and 1970s, in accord
to rising concerns over the environment. This is a little scary is you think about it, because this
means that people have been talking about it since the 60 s and it still, sustainability has not become
a common practice in our day to day. But, designers today face problems that date back to at least the
nineteenth century when machines were invented to create make textiles quickly but of poor quality.
Mechanization and mass production was looked as something amazing and wonderful because it
created more product in less time for less money but unfortunately it
Blind Obedience in Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
The author of The Lottery wrote this story to shock the story s readers with a graphic demonstration
of the pointless violence and general inhumanity in their own lives (Jackson 211). This story reflects
human behavior in society to show how although rules, laws or traditions do not make sense, people
follow them. Throughout the story the three main symbols of how people blindly follow senseless
traditions were the lotteryitself, the color black, and the hesitation that people had towards the prize.
The lotteryin the story was the game in which the prize was death. In reality this lottery symbolized
the game of life, and how our behavior as human beings influences our choices in life and therefore
our destiny. In this case the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author uses this symbol to help readers relate the story to their everyday life more easily. In
society people may think something is wrong but if they see a bunch of people doing it they ll go
ahead and do it themselves. At the end of the story, when the winner was picked, the narrator says A
stone hit her on the side of the head (Jackson 217). This quote refers that nobody saw who was the
first one to hit her but as soon as the stone hit her head ¨then they were upon her (218). People at
first were unsure whether to start throwing the stones or not, but as soon as one threw the first one,
they all followed without hesitation. This story had a graphical representation that seemed to be
abnormal or incoherent in the way it was presented, because in our society it is not normal and it
is against the law to have a game in which the prize is death, but although it is not normal and
against the law it happens in our everyday life. Although we do not have this kind of tradition
anymore (within the United States,) we do have other rules, or laws, which instead of help people, it
kills them little by little and some people decide to take justice in their hands. For example in some
foreign countries the laws allow government to punish criminals by publically humiliating
Competition Is An Intrinsic Part Of Human Lives
Competition is an intrinsic part of human lives; it is all around us through sporting events, job
interviews, class rankings, video games, music competitions, and so on. There is something
inside people that creates an odd desire to be the best, and this creates competition. For example,
if someone is at a music competition and they see a leaderboard, their innate response is that they
wish to be at the top of the leaderboard. In a football season, the goal for a team is to prove they
are the best in the league by making it to the championship game and winning. People are always
trying to prove that they are the best or one of the best at an activity, but finding the reason behind it
takes some digging. Of course, one could say that it is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I interviewed Seth Chapman about his competitive gaming, I asked him why he decided to
play competitively rather than in a casual environment, and he replied, Generally the reason why I
keep playing competitive is just because, one, it s challenging; it always keeps you with the players
that are equal to your level so matches are always interesting (Chapman). First, he provides further
proof that gamers desire challenges when he says the competitive matches are always interesting as
opposed to casual gameplay. More importantly, he reinforces the theory that humans desire challenge
because he enjoys playing in the high pressure matches of competitive Overwatch more than casual
play. Not only is he facing tighter competition with the opposing team, but he is also faced with the
additional challenge of performing up to par with his teammates since teams are created with similar
skill level between players. Another example of the human need for challenge is through drum
corps, professional marching band organizations. Alex Douglass plays snare drum in Music City
Drum and Bugle Corps where he pays corps fees after he passes his audition, and he receives
nothing in return except being a part of the corps on tour. I asked Alex why he wanted to do drum
corps instead of being satisfied by high school and college marching band, and he replied, I did drum
corps to perform at a higher level that I couldn t get in high school or college band
The Narrative Of The Closet By Nina Revoyr
In her novel Southland, author Nina Revoyr creates narrative arcs for a multitude of characters that
occur in multiple separate timelines. These arcs have recurring themes focused on race relations
and sexuality as major civilian protests and campaigns for human rights unfold in the greater Los
Angeles area. Revoyr explores Los Angeles s residentially segregated neighborhoods throughout
different time periods and examines interracial alliances and more personal interracial relationships.
Jackie, the primary character of the novel, is a Japanese American, semi closeted lesbian. Her
narrative emphasizes acceptance of personal identity and family history, as she discovers more about
her recently deceased grandfather, whose perspective also... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sharp that established that anti miscegenation laws were unconstitutional and that marriage is thus
something more than a civil contract subject to regulation by the state; it is a fundamental right of
free men (Perez v. Sharp 2). These court rulings were utilized as precedents by judges in Obergefell
v. Hodges, that determined that state laws against same sex marriage were unconstitutional
(Obergefell v. Hodges 2). Therefore, there is documentation that establishes a precedent that
interracial and same sex relationships have experienced similar taboos and changes in status, and
can be used as a background for understanding the parallels between Jackie and Frank s romantic
relationships.
Revoyr expresses the similarly closeted nature of Jackie and Frank s relationships in the physical
and social spaces in which they exist. At the beginning of the novel, Jackie is in a committed
relationship with her white girlfriend of three years, Laura. Initially in their relationship, Laura
and Jackie actively hide their sexualities and their relationship from colleagues and Jackie s
family. However, they come out to select people: Laura had told her peers about Jackie (but not her
boss), after she d started taking Jackie to parties and barbecues (but not official functions) (Revoyr
42). Laura and Jackie s relationship exists in limited social spheres and restricted
The Wechsler Preschool And Primary Scale Of Intelligence
According to The Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence 4th Edition, Zaden is
functioning at an overall level of general intelligence designated as average. Zaden s verbal
comprehension, visual spatial skills, and full scale IQ are in the average range. His working
memory is in the high average range. THE DEVEREUX EARLY CHILDHOOD ASSESSMENT
(DECA) is a standardized norm reference behavioral rating scale evaluating within child
protective factors in preschool children age 2 to 5. Primary caregivers and educational
professionals evaluate the frequency of 27 positive behaviors exhibited by the preschooler. The
primary purpose of the DECA is to identify and assess the strengths and comparative weaknesses
of a child s protective factors (initiative, self control, and attachment). The initiative factor scale
measures the child s ability to use independent thought and action to meet his or his needs.
Children who receive high scores on the initiative score are often somewhat independent, active
learners who will start or organize activities with other children. They tend to be optimistic and
good problem solvers. The self control scale assesses a child s ability to experience a range of
feelings and express them using words and actions considered appropriate. Children with high ratings
on this scale are generally able to handle frustration and negative emotions without acting out.
Children who score high in this scale tend to be cooperative, patient, and
An Analysis of the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglas
An Analysis of the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglas In the autobiography Frederick
Douglass presents a clear picture to me of a horrifying period of American history that far too few
people understand. Douglass s personal narrative as a slave lets you feel the fear of his past and
allows us to experience the suffering and pain inflicted by underserved beatings and an unhealthy
lifestyle with too much physical exertion. Douglass expresses very personal feelings about his
history and helps us to understand the intense hatred and disgust the American slave had for his
possessor, and the sickness of hate that allowed human beings to keep other human being as slaves.
The typical American slave standard of living was worse than... Show more content on

This was quite the main perception to their teachings to their slaves as being incapable of
learning, fear kept the slaveholders from educating their slaves about the truth they consciously
new. Douglass became convinced that the only way men can be enslaved is by remaining
ignorant. This idea would pave the pathway to one of the greatest slave escapes of all time. The
violence slaves endured was the most vivid representation in Douglass portrayal of slavery in the
South. No emotion or rage was held back by slaveholders and no pity or sympathy was put forth
either. Cruelty and abuse were the only means of control the slaveholders believed would keep
order. The pain inflicted upon these individuals, even to the point of death in some cases, fueled the
typical master s obsession with domination and power. However, throughout Douglass s turmoil, his
religious faith remained exceptionally strong. At times he found himself questioning how might his
God allow him to endure such grueling circumstances, but he never let his curiosity hinder his faith.
He also questioned how a man could call himself a Christian and yet treat another human being in
such a humane manner. Douglass could never comprehend how the slaveholders were able to
justify slavery through their faith and church as some of his owners did. Frederick Douglass
narrative proved to be quite the learning experience for me. I was blind and couldn t
Therapeutic Relationship
Everyone must have had a pet before, even if it was as small as a fish or as big as an elephant. We
ve all had that one pet, that we will forever remember. The loving relationship between a dog and a
person is so unexplainable but very special in its own way. I ve had a dog when I was born and it
would always be there from my first time to talk to being with me my sophomore year. I had a
Chinese Shar Pei, whose name was Kane. He was the most precious petto me and not one other pet
can replace his 1,000 rolls or the two different colored eyes. Everyone thought he was ugly but he s
beautiful to me. The relationship we had was unique. In this relationship it contained us both
knowing what we thought and getting in trouble together. The loving
