The Glade Chapter Summary
The main setting the story took place in was the Glade. The Glade was a vast square courtyard
and was surrounded by 100 foot high walls that were seemingly made of stone each wall is named
by its corresponding direction (East Wall, North Wall, West Wall, and finally the South Wall). In
some places the walls were covered in thick green ivy, and each wall had a opening that would open
in the day and close at night, these walls connected the Gladeto the Maze. Some places in the Glade
includes the Box, a small elevator that would bring supplies every week and a new person every
month, this box was in the middle of the Glade. In the north west of the Glade was the Gardens
where fruits and vegetables would be grown in the Glade, water would be pumped at the Gardens
because no matter what it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main character in the book was Thomas. Thomas is a very intelligent person, he and Teresa
was the ones that designed the Maze. Something the Gladers couldn t solve after two years of
trying and the only reason the Gladers solved the Maze was with the help of Thomas. To top it
off he solved the Maze with his memories erased in under a month. Thomas is also quite
inquisitive always asking questions about everything in the Maze, trying so hard to understand his
situation. He s so inquisitive that other characters such as Alby and Minho got annoyed with him
and tells him to be quiet. Thomas shows bravery when he runs into the Maze to help Minho and
Alby when they can t make it to the exit, though Minho thought this move was stupid and naive
claiming that Thomas had just killed himself. Another time Thomas showed his bravery was when
he purposely got himself stung by a Griever so he could remember his past to help the others get
out of the Maze. Thomas is also cunning, he was able to trick some Grievers that were chasing him
to fall off a cliff by exploiting the way they moved do that they would throw themselves of the Cliff.
Many praised him for this and thought he was
Energy Of Nuclear And Chemical Fuel
A fuel can be any material that can react with other substances so that it releases chemical or
nuclear energy as heat or to be used for work. In our assignment, we will be dealing with the work
that can be used to drive vehicle. There are two types of fuels namely nuclear and chemical fuels.
Chemical fuel as the name indicates are the fuel where the energy is achieved by chemical
reaction. The abundant energy of nuclear fuel (by nuclear fission and fusion) cannot be made into
application of vehicles because of the unstable and hostile nature of the same, although chemical
fuel are the widely all over the world for every kind of daily usage. Chemical fuel can be classified
as follows: Solid fuel: Solid fuels as the name suggests are solid materials that are burnt or used to
produce energy and provide heating, usually released through combustion. Application of solid fuel
for transportation are steam engines and as rocket propellant. Wood, Biomass, Peat, Lignite,
Bituminous coal, Anthracite, Coke, Briquettes etc. are some types of solid fuels Liquid fuels:
Mechanically energy can be generated by harnessing liquid fuels which are combustible; they also
take the shape of their container and are fluidic in nature. instead of the fluid only the fumes of
liquid fuels are flammable. Most liquid fuels which are widely used are derived from fossil fuels.
However, there are several types of non conventional fuels such as hydrogen fuel, ethanol, and
biodiesel, which are also

infections at large. However, bacteria, fungi, viruses and other parasites may also be responsible
for the condition. Older people who are above 65 years, people having chronic illness and those who
have a week immune systemare more prone and likely to this kind of inflammation. Pneumonia can
range from mild to life threatening illness. In fact this condition is characterized with high

Tests and diagnose of Pneumonia
The tests may be based on physical exam and medical history. The following are some tests which
you may undergo:
Physical exam
Here the doctor checks for some bubbling sound that be little abnormal and some crackling sounds
may also be associated with it. This may signal the presence of a thick liquid in the lungs.
X rays
This can be used to confirm pneumonia which can be used to determine the location and extent of
the infection.
Mucus and blood test
To measure the count of white blood cells, you may undergo blood tests, which can also be used to
determine the presence of bacteria, virus and other organism. The mucus can also be used to
examine and identify the microorganism.

Home remedies for pneumonia are beneficial at the early stage. Some of these remedies are
mentioned below:

Home Remedies for Pneumonia using fenugreek seeds and sesame seeds
Fenugreek seeds can be used to prepare tea which will mainly help the body of the patient to
perspire. This will also shorten the period of fever and dispel toxic from the body. The patient is
recommended to take four cups of tea daily. When fenugreek is used during treatments than no other
nourishments or food should be taken. This is one of the ideal
The Goal Of Place Based Education Essay
Place Based education has been valuable throughout in schools and developing children education.
The goal of place education is to serve as a learning organization for program developers, fueling
internal growth and program development for the individual organizations. Nonetheless develop an
identity, disseminate evaluation techniques, tools and approaches that can be applied elsewhere; and
contribute to the research base underlying the field of place based educationand schoolchange
(peecworks.org). It has focused on using the local community as an integrating context for learning.
This allows students to explore the world around them. Students will gain experience in the real
world and face different issues that might not be taught in the schools. Moreover, learning the
culture that students live in can give a history to how their area grew into what it is today. One of
the key factors that can be used to be help elementary, middle and high schoolin the Sewanee area is
The Annenberg Rural Challenge.

Originally the Annenberg Rural Challenge was predominantly for urban areas in the beginning
stages. It pledged five hundred million to public schools. The action was billed as an unprecedented
challenge to an American public increasingly vocal about the need for school improvement
(Annenber,1997). It took steps to fulfill America s obligation to educate all of the children. Students
from private school backgrounds were getting more opportunities than their public school
Handsomest Drowned Man
The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World begins with a group of children playing on the
beach of a small fishing village. It s a coastal, cliff side town, with a desert like cape that has no
flowers, and so little land that the inhabitants must throw their dead over the cliffs and into the sea
instead of burying them in their scarce ground. The inhabitants are a simple folk, who believe in
myths just as strongly as they do what they see with their own eyes. In the waves a dark and slinky
bulge approaches the children. Although it is hard to tell at first, it is a drowned man, covered in
seaweed, stones, and sea creatures. The women prepare his body for a funeral while the men head to
neighboring villages to find out who this dead man... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the something significant that launches the story and hooks you. The drowned man s
arrival brings any number of conflicts or questions with it: where did he come from? Who is he? To
whom does he belong, if anyone at all? Is he a God? What will his arrival to this village mean? The
complication is that the Drowned Man is the handsomest, biggest, and strongest man in the world,
or at least it seems that way to the villagers. His is clearly no ordinary body. The various conflicts
from the previous stage take on an even greater weight now that he is of such great importance.
When the women decide that he is Esteban, the plotline is further complicated by the mythical
implications of such a name; as the word originates from Spanish and Greek, the meaning of
Esteban is garland, crown or in other words, king (thinkbabynames). The two main Conflicts are
man vs. woman, this occurs when the men come back from the other villages and see how the
women are fantasizing about this dead man. The women are deeply infatuated by Esteban and even
compare him to their husbands thinking how their spouses can never measure up to this god like
human. On the other hand the men initially dislike Esteban because of their wives affection for him
unsurprisingly making them jealous. This is an external conflict. The second is the villagers vs.
themselves. This is when they are deciding whether to chain him so he can never come back again
or leave
Pros and Cons of Assessments
Pros and Cons of Assessment Assessments are an everyday occurrence in classrooms around the
world. There are many different types of assessments, which generally fall into formal and informal.
There are advantages and disadvantages to both. The major importance is selecting the right
assessment. It is up to the teacher to decide what information is needed and how that information is
collected. Formal Assessments Formal assessments are a way of observing and recording
information in a highly structured manner. It typically requires a large amount of preparation and
training. There are many different forms of formal assessments to choose from. Two examples are
standards based test and national norm referenced test. Standards... Show more content on

Informal formative assessment can take place in any student teacher interaction (Ruiz Primo amp;
Furtak, 2004). Typically informal assessments do not involve a lot of prior preparations. Some
informal assessments that I personally use on a consistent basis are checklists, observation,
portfolios and clickers: Checklists The one that I use most frequently are checklists. I use checklists
for every subject at every point in the school day. In a special education class with numerous staff
members, it can be difficult to ensure that data is being collected thoroughly. In our classroom, we
use checklists to track behaviors, to ensure that students are meeting their IEP goals, knowledge of
their sight words, that they are completing their work, and last but not least are the students grasping
the concept that is being taught. The quickness and easiness to use the checklists are a major
advantage. Another advantage is that teachers are able to have results quickly. With these quick
results, teachers can address the issues being observed instantly. A disadvantage is that different
people may interpret the checklists in different ways. This can lead to confusion on what needs to
truly be addressed. Another disadvantage is that with certain areas to watch for, other areas might be
overlooked. Observations Observations are one of the easiest forms
Secrets Of The Body Farm Summary
For our first week discussion, the class reviewed a program Secrets of the Body Farm. In my
opinion, this program was informative. I ve reviewed a lot of documentaries and shows in
regards to crime and criminology. Secrets of the Body Farms was like nothing I have ever seen. I
struggled to view some of the images. However, I was intrigued by the scientific data that was
presented. When someone is watching a fictional program for example Law and Order as a viewer
we are often left out of the scientific portion of the program, the real facts. Body decomposing and
insect growth play a big part of finding the truth in what actually accrued in crime.
Bill Bass is an Anthropologist who created the body farm. He speculated the interpretation and
Observation Of Voluntary Observation
There were 28 total participants in the study who were undergraduate students. They participated
in the experiment on a voluntary basis, and they were given no compensation. 13 participants
were male and 15 were female. Their ages ranged from 19 years old to 37 years old (M = 22.93,
SD = 5.49). Seventy five percent of the participants were between the ages of 19 and 22 while the
other twenty five percent were between the ages of 23 and 37. Design The participants were
randomly divided into two groups for the experiment. The first group was the Dominant group (8
women and 6 men), and the second group was the Non dominant group (7 women and 7 men). The
Dominant group included the participants that had their eyes open and who threw with their
dominant hand. The Non dominant group had the participants close their eyes and they threw
with their non dominant hand. Apparatus The study required the use of 6 beanbags that weighed
125 grams and were 10 centimeters by 10 centimeters by 3 centimeters for the participants to
throw. Small cones were needed to make a rectangle that was 1 meter wide and 1.5 meters long. A
blindfold was used to cover the participants eyes for part of the experiment, and a tape measurer
was used to mark off 5.5 meters and 7 meters away from the rectangle and to measure the distance
they walked after throwing. Procedure The experiment had the participants throw beanbags from
either 5.5 meters away or 7 meters away. The Dominant group (8 women and 6

Environmental analysis of Honda Motor: In terms of lawful issue, the company is estimated to
hold on the laws and guidelines of the country where it works. For example, in the majority of
countries in North America and Europe, the working hours are consistent, and the workers are
only projected to work for 8 hours. What is more, employee earnings are considered per hours,
hence asking it hard for the company to maintain wages and salary. In the United Kingdom,
employment laws need companies such as Honda to pay 6.93 EURO per hour as least amount of
wages. Consequently, this extremely affects the sustainability of the corporation operation and
profits. Another lawful issue which influences the operations of Honda in its subsidiaries is the
planned policies by overseas countries. For example, in the U.S, North America and Europe,
multinational companies such as Honda are necessary to make available insurance cover for
workers and offer training for expertise growth. Besides, companies are required by law to
establish safety equipments to defend workers. Therefore, if Honda Company fails to hold to the
