Onomatopoeia In Chester Himes Mama s Missionary Money
As a child, we tend to want things we cannot always afford, or are not reasonable and when told no
we throw a tantrum. With a non mature mind children tend to make plenty of mistakes that have
consequences to fulfill their desires. Almost everyone has done something behind their parents back
in order to get what they want, for example, stealing money to buy the new game all your friends
have. Especially as a child, there is no set income because you cannot get a job so you are
dependent on your parents. Also, wanting to look cool around your friends is very common for
children. In the story, Mama s Missionary Money Chester Himes uses Onomatopoeia in order to
fully describe the consequences and the fears that went through the main character... Show more

According to figurativelanguage.net , Hyperbole is the use of exaggeration for extra effect. The
author can use hyperbole to add extra drama or comedy to a situation or even for the purpose of
propaganda . This usage according to the website explains exactly how Himes used hyperbole
because he wanted to add something that the reader could not take their eyes off basically
causing more drama. After his parents decided to lay down the consequences for his wrongful
actions he screamed, MURDER! or when he screamed, HELP ! POLICE! . Although his parents
are not actually going to murder him, or the police do not need to get involved Himes uses this to
make the reader understand the full and deep regret that Lamuel felt at the moment for stealing
his mom s missionary money especially while he was being punished for it. Also, by using
hyperboles he sets the scene very vividly and keeps the reader hooked on to his work because they
want to see what is next especially since there is a lot of juicy action going on that is only able to
be set up by using all of the hyperboles at the right
Lab Report On Lithium Polymer
Introduction
A lithium polymer battery It is commonly abbreviated as LiPo, LIP or Li poly . It is a rechargeable
battery that uses a lithium ion technology . It uses a polymer electrolyte instead of the liquid
electrolyte that is more commonly used in other batteries. LiPo cells uses high conductivity
semisolid (gel) polymers as electrolyte. It is used in tablet computers and many cellular telephone
handsets. Lithium polymer cells have technically originated from lithium ion and lithium metal
batteries .Li po battery uses a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) for example poly(ethylene
oxide)(PEO), poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) or poly(vinylidene
fluoride) (PVdF) whereas other batteries use a lithium salt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net
...
Working principle
LiPos work on the principle of intercalation and de intercalation of lithium ions from a positive
electrode material and a negative electrode material, with the liquid electrolyte providing a
conductive medium. To prevent the electrodes from touching each other directly, a microporous
separator is used in between which allows only the ions and not the electrode particles to migrate
from one side to the other.
Charging
The voltage of a LiPo cell depends on its chemistry . It varies from about 2.7 3.0 V (discharged) to
about 4.20 V (fully charged) for cells based on lithium metal oxides for example LiCoO2 . It is
about 1.8 2.0 V (discharged) to 3.6 3.8 V (charged) for those based on lithium iron phosphate
(LiFePO4).
Advantages
LiPo cells has compelling advantages for manufacturers:
They can manufacture batteries of almost any desired shape easily .For example, the space and
weight requirements of mobile phones and notebook computers can be satisfied completely. Another
advantage is that they have long life as the self discharge rate is low that is about 5% per month.
Problems associated with li po battery
LiPo cells are affected by the following problems :
overcharge
over discharge
over temperature
short circuit
crush
nail penetration
All these problems result in a
The Kentucky House Of Representative Candidates Forum For...
The second group I attended was the Kentucky House of Representative Candidates Forum for
house districts: 7, 11, 12, 13, and 14. This group was attended by me via online and took place on
campus at Brescia University in Owensboro Kentucky. The Candidates Forum was held on
Monday October 17 from 7:00pm 8:30pm CDT. The scene was that of an auditorium with six
candidates seated at a table in the front and to what appeared to be the group moderator at a podium
to the right of the room. The camera did not focus in on much of the audiencefor me to give an
accurate description, but there were several members there to observe and many had questions for
the Candidates.
The Kentucky House of Representatives Candidate Forum was an open ended group. In other
words, it was open to the public primarily because it had a political agenda for gaining voters for
the Candidates that shared their views. The Candidates Forum can be identified by several of the
groups mentioned in our text, but the two groups that I feel best fit the description are:
Educational group and a Focus Group. First, I identified it with an educational because the
Candidates objective is to educate the viewers on their political stance in the race as well as
educate the viewers about important issues that need to be addressed. Lastly, I identified it with a
focus group because a focus group is closely related to task groups and problem solving and
decision making groups in that they identify needs or issues,
Alpha-Amylase Activity
Alpha Amylase activity varied considerable from our initial hypothesis. In regards to temperature
our data shows that optimal maltose production occurs at higher temperatures, while lower
temperatures show a decrease in production. Specifically, the data shows that the optimal
temperature appears to be at 100⁰C or at least in between 65⁰C and 100⁰C. This trend is seen for all
three amylasesamples. Results from other experiments using A. oryzae, B.licheniformis, porcine
alpha amylase show slightly different results. B. Licheniformis activity has been shown to be
optimal at 37 ⁰C (Dibu, 2002). Aspergillus oryzae has also shown to be at its optimal activity at a
temperatureof 35⁰C (Ragunathan, 2005). Finally, the porcine alpha amylase results we gathered
shows that the optimal temperature is at 65⁰C, which is confirmed by studies... Show more content on

These results suggest that a major source or sources of error occurred during the lab. Until
additional runs of this lab are carried out the source of error remains ambiguous. However, while
we cannot specifically point out the source of error, clearly major sources of error could include
poor sample preparation, issues related to the spectrophotometer, or possibly inadequate enzyme
samples due to age or contamination. Maltose production varied considerably more in regards to
changes in pH. Acidic conditions at pH 5 showed a significant amount of maltose production for
all three samples. As pH increased it affected each sample differently. Sample A showed a linear
decrease in maltose production as the pH became more basic. However, at pH 9 there was an
increase in maltose production, however production was still less then production at pH 5. These
results are supported
Essay On Antibiotics In America
The Overuse Of Antibiotics in The United States of America Throughout the centuries the
improvement of medicine has always been on the run. Whether the cure for a viral or bacterial
infection to the simple cure of a common cold, advances in medicine can be said to have had a
great impact in the lives of many in the U.S. and around the world. In the U.S. alone, the life
expectancy of an American increased from 49 years to 77 years because of the new way of life in
the health aspect. There is no doubt that antibiotics specifically, not to say the prevention of
diseases by public health regulations including over the counter drugs and surgical procedures,
have saved thousands or even millions of lives in the U.S and around the world. However, there
are many cases in which antibiotics are being overused, which in effect cause more harm than good.
All across the United States, from the West coast to the East coast antibiotics are being looked upon
as the cure for most health related issues. The problem is that antibiotics are for specific bacterial
infections only and not for infections that are caused by viruses like bronchitis, ear and sinus
infections,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We see here that incidents just like these are what are causing antibiotic resistance by the bacteria.
This is very harmful to the consumer of the antibiotic because it can potentially cause death due to
the antibiotic resistant infection. Not only is death the main issue of this problem, but also illnesses
that are prolonged, extra tests with the addition of the treatments and the hospitalization contribute to
the extra money or costs towards the consumer and the industries that provide the healthcare towards
the individual which is in the millions of
A Definition Of Justice By Aristotle And The Star Spangled...
American society has kept white rich men in the nation superior, while keeping Black people and
other minorities such as women in the lower realms of the society. When the Declaration of
Independence, Constitution of the United States, and The Star Spangled Banner were written they
were not meant to include black people (African descendants). At that time black people were
considered to be a percent of a person, actually chattel, property to white slave owners. In addition,
women were not considered to have the same rights leaving them in an unequal state to their
husbands, fathers, and brothers. The American society has gained their independence by creating
justice for themselves while producing inequalities for others; some affected by justice were people
with different ideas than government, slaves, women and free African Americans.
Aristotle s A Definition of Justice describes the differences of the state with an oligarchy and
democracy as government. In both systems of government, Aristotle states men have a
misconception of justice. Justice is thought by them to be, and is, equality, not, however, for all, but
only for equals. And inequality is thought to be, and is, justice; neither is this for all, but only for
inequals. (Aristotle) Examples to confirm Aristotle s definition are the position that blacks, slaves
and women held in past oligarchy and democracy states. In Aristotle s time (300 s B.C.) until the
late 1800 s slavery was a customary practice,
Reputation Of Pablo Picasso
Reputation is the belief or opinion that is held about someone or something generally about their
character, position, or status. Many famous people have reputations. For e.g. artists, people in
power, and etc. History is full of artists whose reputations were challenged in those days.
Likewise, painters also struggled to establish their reputations. Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula
Juan Nepomuceno María de Los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso
(Editors, 2015) also known as Pablo Picassowas one of them. He was born on October 25, 1881, in
Málaga, Spain. He was a Spanish painter, sculptor, ceramicist, printmaker, stage designer, poet, and a
playwright. He was the most renowned and influential artist... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He painted in a style that was strongly influenced by the African sculptures. The huge achievement of
this period was Les Demoiselles d Avignon (1907). He abandoned the traditional art and used
distortions and geometric forms to create female figures which was challenging to the expectations
of others. Later, because of patriotic and political issues, he denied that African art never inspired
him. In the next period Cubism (1909 1914) Picasso worked with dimension and moved towards
abstraction. It was like different objects are broken apart and then reassembled in abstract forms.
Cubism stunned and fascinated the art world. Braque said It made me feel as if someone was
drinking gasoline and spitting fire (Biography.com, 2015) explaining his feelings when he first saw
the paintings. Cubism changed avant garde all over again. Cubism had two branches Analytic
(1909 1912) and synthetic (1912 1914). Analytic cubist analyzed the natural forms and represented
them using geometric shapes and often monochromatic palette. E.g. Girl with a Mandolin (1910),
Bread and Fruit Dish On a Table (1909), Violin (1912), and etc. Synthetic cubism involved creating
collages with tiny fragments e.g. Card Player (1914), Clarinet and Violin (1913), and etc. World
War I caused a great change in his art. Mood and style became more somber and realistic. After
cubism, he changed to the
