Essay On European Economic Economy
ern Capitalistic views in.

The European Economic Community

Ever since the treaty of Rome, the 6 members of the now European Economic Community had been
experiencing economic prosperity and a rapid development in all areas of society.
Politically, the EEC aimed to reduce tensions in the aftermath of World War II. In particular, it was
hoped that integration would promote a lasting reconciliation of France and Germany, thereby
reducing the potential for war.
EEC governance required political cooperation among its members through formal supranational
institutions.
To reduce the risk of there being political separation (some groups supporting communism, others
supporting other ideas E.g. capitalism, Western Politics Etc.) the EEC ... Show more content on

With the construction of the berlin wall, Khrushchev confirmed that the GDR would still be in
existence. It also meant that Western powers would have to acknowledge East Germany, pretty
much ignoring the ideas in the Hallstein Doctrine. With people unable to leave East Germany, it
meant Ulbricht could develop a New economic system which was supposedly meant to revolutionize
the GDR S economy and gain acceptance for socialism.
The Berlin wall shifted a large amount of focus onto Berlin and Europe. During this time the EEC
stayed relatively quite as they still were only involved with west berlin, not east berlin.
The European Economic Community Turing into the European Community 1967.
Members revamped the organization several times in order to expand its policy making powers and
to revise its political structure. On July 1, 1967, the governing bodies of the EEC, ECSC, and
Euratom were merged. Through the Single European Act , which entered into force in 1987, EEC
members committed themselves to remove all remaining barriers to a common market by 1992.
After the European Economic Community turned into the European Community in 1967, other
countries soon joined. In 1973, the European community opened up and let in a few more countries
such as the United Kingdom, Denmark and Ireland (see illustration). The small group of six
countries was slowly growing.
The EEC turning into the EC could be seen as the true start

Mesopotamia Changes
Mesopotamia is one of the oldest places where civilizations blossomed. In Greek, the word
mesopotamia means the land between the rivers (Leick, 2003, p. xii) . Mesopotamia was located
between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in what is now known as modern day Iraq. This land was
home to many civilizations dating as far back as 10,000 B.C. (Leick, 2003). Each civilization used
the different type of resources available to them between the two rivers. In the beginning,
civilizations relied mostly on hunting and gathering near the Levantine Coast (Leick, 2003).
However, there was a change from hunting and gathering to cultivating and domesticating animals.
According to Van De Mieroop, the transition was not sudden but rather a slow process
The Ideal Image Of Nuclear Family And How I Met Your...
The ideal image of nuclear family used to be described as a male husband, a female wife and their
kids; however, in few decades, the term family has become diverse without any blood related
relationships. Because of this recent change of family values, it is easy to find that present
television shows also reflect the new concept of familyand influence the recognition of the viewers
at the same time. Among many TV programs such as Simpsons , F is for family and How I met
your mother , Modern Family is a representative show dealing with modern family types and
values. It is a domestic TV sitcom of ABC, featuring the lives of three different types of fictional
families. Apart from the humorous stories, it becomes very popular because of suggesting that
friendly characters are easy to relate to real life. It shows innovative aspects of family structures
including a gay couple with an adopted baby and an interracial marriage between a divorced old
man with a much younger woman. In addition, its form is a fake documentary about when family
members agree to participate in interviews for a documentary, but they don t actually realize how
much they are revealing their lives themselves. Also, the main theme of the show is But that s the
thing about family: no matter how badly you behave, hopefully they ll forgive (Modern Family
Synopsis, 2011). The show has a favourable notice in media field because it handles social issues
through its characters showing racial,
Character Analysis Of Truman Capote In In True Blood
Truman Capote is the narrator for his novel In True Blood. Capote claims that he has a near
perfect memory and everything in the book is completely true; Many readers speculate that he
may not actually be as trustworthy of a narrator as we were led to believe. His journalistic
reliability is iffy at best, outright unreliable at worst. This is an essay analyzing his approach to
authoring the novel and his reliability as a true crime narrator.

When writing the book, Capote was quite biased in his portrayal of Dick and Perry; if he attempted
to hide his favoritism towards Perry, it was hidden quite poorly. To start, we get significantly more
backstory for Perry than Dick; the effect of this made us much more sympathetic towards Perry. In
persons unknown alone, readers get a lengthy backstory for Perry recounting many of his
formative life events. Dick s past, however, only gets lightly touched upon throughout the whole
book. Readers don t know much about Dick, but learn Perry s whole life story. Learning how
horrible Perry s childhood was makes the reader pity him; root for him, in a way.

Adding to this, Perry was written in a way to sympathise with that nobody else was. The focus
being brought to Perry for such large parts of the book makes the reader develop an emotional
connection to him. If one couldn t relate to anything, they would most likely come to feel bad for
him. If this were fiction, Perry would be the main character; everyone else in the book would be
plot devices. Side characters who don t get much development are difficult to relate to; the tactic
Capote used to portray these individuals in his novel don t have that different of an affect on the
reader. Capote claims that he has near perfect recall ; this claim has no proof of being true. The
ability to recall in great detail is incredibly rare. Despite this, people claim to have photographic
memory all the time. Joshua Foer from Slate made a similar observation: there is a similar
phenomenon, but it doesn t provide nearly the same results as Capote claims to produce. Joshua
wrote: Photographic memory is often confused with another bizarre but real perceptual phenomenon
called eidetic memory, which occurs in between 2 and 15 percent of
The Coquette Analysis
I intend to write about Hannah W. Foster s novel The Coquette. I want to focus on gothic elements
that can be found in her text even before gothic novels came around since sentimental novels were
the precursor to gothic novels. Therefore, I will be analyzing the proto gothic elements Foster used.
I want to look into the fear that she nonetheless created in this realistic society, which eventually, in
a way, led to the protagonist s death teaching the readers a moral lesson overall on societal
expectations. It answers the question of, What s morality in America? and, What is America s
values? The novels setting insinuated this fear for Eliza Wharton s taboo as she wanted to be
young and free and date multiple people, that of which including someone in a different class. The
moral dilemma Foster wrote in the novel evokes emotion in the audience, something gothic novels
do as well. Although, there is a difference in the emotions evoked: Sentimental novels, on one
hand, make the readers feel loving and empathetic and gothic novels make the reader feel scared
and full of terror. I want to write about how The Coquette aroused both types of emotion as a proto
gothic novel even if it is just in a subtle way. There is a balance between rationality and... Show more

I will use printouts from class ( History of Literary Gothic and History of the Gothic: American
Gothic ) on what gothic novels entail to help me analyze The Coquette in that sense instead of its
sentimentalism since they are such close genres. The scenes from the novel that I want to pay
close attention to are any that mention societal norms and the letters towards the end leading up to
Eliza Wharton s death. I still need to go back and specifically analyze the novel for certain gothic
elements, that is why I do not have specific letters yet, just the basic idea of what I am looking for.
Any scenes that show sentimentalism I will use to show
Hills Like White Elephant Conflict Analysis
In Ernest Hemingway s Hills like White Elephants the conflict in is undoubtedly present and
ostentatious, both internal and external. There were immeasurable sums of identifications of
multiple accounts of conflict within the story. One of the external conflict being (man vs. man)
related to the clash between the American man and Jig, his girlfriend and their struggle with
impounding decisions, their inability to compromise so both are happy, and their lack of
understanding. Their initial first words not only disclose strain between these two but also proposed
that there are perhaps ultimate differences between them. The girl is fascinated about the world
around her, concerned with being responsive, vibrant, and visionary; the man, on the
Racism In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
2.) Standard RL.9 10.2 In the novel, Of Mice Men by John Steinbeck, he develops a theme that
shows racism is a learned trait. He uses Crooks, the black stableman, and presents readers of a
flashback of his father telling him, The white children are you friends now, but as you grow up
things will change and they will hate you because you re different . To most this statement shows
racism on a surface level, but as readers start to analyze text they see this theme represented by
Lennie. He is stuck in a childlike state, yet he does not discriminate against Crooks, contrasting to
how the adults treat him. This helps develop the theme that racism is a learned trait.
5.) Standard RL.9 10.5 The author makes choices concerning the structure of their literature by
sometimes deciding to start in the current time and tell the story in the past time using flashbacks.
This helps to give the characters dimension behind them, rather than leaving them a flat character.
One of the main differences between a flat character and a developed character is often if a
change has occurred in the story. Using flashbacks allows the author to show the change in a
better way compared to telling it in chronological order. 1 .) Standard RL.9 10.1 To readers who
understand the novel on an implicit level, they assume Crooks is a lonely man who doesn t like
the company of books anymore and prefers human company instead, Books ain t no good. A guy
needs somebody to be near him . As readers
Story Of Sinuhe Sparknotes
The Story of Sinuhe is considered one of the most important works in Egyptian literature, which
is why there are not only so many copies, but why there are copies in multiple different time
periods, The oldest date to the Twelfth Dynasty (1937 1758 B.C.E. ), which was also the time of
the story s setting. There also more than twenty copied during New Kingdom and even a copy
from the Late Period (665 333 B.C.E.). This amount of copies across all major time periods is
because copying it was required in scribe schools as part of their training, thus this work of
literature connected the Egyptian literate class for 2,000 years. This story is structured as an
autobiography and is written in the first person, and includes songs, and a letter.... Show more content

He decides to flee Egypt, traveling across Egypt s eastern border into the lands beyond. In his
haste to leave, however, he does not pack sufficient provisions and nearly dies of thirst in the
desert. A Bedouin chief rescues him, and Sinuhe is able to reach the town of Byblos in modern
Lebanon, eventually settling in Upper Retenu in modern Syria. There he meets a local ruler
named Amunenshi, who gives him his daughter in marriage and land in a place called Yaa.
Sinuhe prospers in Yaa, has children, and successfully leads Amunenshi s army against other
tribes. Near the end of his life, however, he decides he wants to return to Egypt for burial. He
sends a letter to the king, and the benevolent Senwosret I welcomes him back to Egypt with full
honors despite his cowardly flight years before. Senwosret I arranges for Sinuhe s burial in Egypt,
and the final verses describe Sinuhe s tomb and his final contented days in Egypt waiting for death.
John L. Foster, the American Egyptologist, analyzed Sinuhe s personal development from his loss of
status when he fled from Egypt to his eventual restoration to his rightful place in Egyptian society.
Foster demonstrated that the real interest of the story for modern readers is in Sinuhe s personal
development. It is one suggestion that perhaps helps modern readers understand the story s
Tawney s Essay Some Reflections Of A Soldier
Many people think that the absolute best way to relate to a relative or the best way to resolve
internal conflict, is through talking it out. In some cases this may have validity, but not in the case
of veterans. Family members inserting their assumptions and probing their returning loved ones is
not only prevalent today, but goes all the way back to World War I, and likely occurred before then as
well. While of course there is value in communication, many veterans do not want to talk about their
experiences, and shouldn t be forced to do so. They also should not have to explain themselves to
those who think they understand what is going on. My assertion is this: Family members should not
push their loved ones to talk about war, nor should they assume that they understand what they have
gone through. While recognizing that communication is valuable and that without talking the
civilians could never even begin to try to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is made evident in Tawney s article, Some Reflections of a Soldier. Tawney makes some very
important assertions as to why civilians do not understand. He recognizes that the soldiers have
changed and that is partly why the civilians cannot understand, but he also presents the notion that
the civilians have changed where the soldiers have not (Tawney 22). Soldiers experience a great deal
of change while they are away at war, they experience things they cannot explain. The change inside
the civilians though, makes it even harder for them to understand these unexplainable things. The
civilians have formulated these ideas and images inside their heads of what they think the war is
like. Whether it be from the news, articles, books, or other outside sources they have read. By
forming these images and romanticized views of war, they are unable to comprehend what war
actually is to those who have
The Battle Of Bull Run
The Battle of Bull Run

The American Civil War was fought from 1861 to 1865 to determine whether the Union or
Confederacy would survive. The fight would take place between the North, called Union states and
the South, called Confederate states. The Confederate states wanted to leave the North and South
union and stand on their own. The war started on April 12, 1861 when Confederate forces attacked a
Union military base at Fort Sumter in South Carolina. The reason the war started at this time was
that Abraham Lincoln had just been elected President in 1860. Abraham Lincoln wanted to end
slavery but keep the union together. The North had an increase of industry and the South still
depended on farming the land. However, the South ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
to strike a Confederate force along a small river known as Bull Run. After fighting on the
defensive for most of the day, the rebels rallied and were able to break the Union right flank,
sending them into a chaotic retreat towards Washington. The Confederate victory gave the South a
false confidence and shocked many in the North, who realized the war would not be won as easily
as they had hoped.
By July 1861, the northern press and the public were eager for the Union Army to make an
advance on Richmond ahead of the planned meeting of the Confederate Congress there on July 20.
Encouraged by early victories of Union troops in western Virginia, and by the war fever spreading
through the North, President Abraham Lincoln ordered Brigadier General Irvin McDowell to mount
an offensive that would hit quickly and decisively at the enemy and open the way to Richmond, thus
bringing the war to a quick end. The offensive would begin with an attack on Confederate troops
under the command of General P.G.T. Beauregard camped near Manassas Junction, Virginia (25
miles from Washington, D.C.) along a little river known as Bull Run.
The cautious McDowell, then in command of the Union volunteer troops, gathered in the Federal
capital, knew that his men were not prepared and pushed for a postponement of the advance to give
him time for additional training. But Lincoln ordered him to begin the offensive, reasoning that the
rebel army was made up of amateur
Muted Group Theory
Muted group theory is a critical theory concerned with how gender, power, and communication
relate to one another. It focuses on the ways the communication practices of a dominant groups
suppress, mute, or devalue the words, ideas, and discourses of subordinate groups (Kramarae,
2009). The theory focuses on people with various social status and how they communicate. For
example, it emphasizes how much these people speak, when and where they speak, with what
words and concepts, in what modes or channels, and with what repercussions (Kramarae, 2018).
The muted group theory also brings to light the ways that language structure and customs are not
equal for all speakers. The theory suggests that an important way that a social group creates and
maintains its dominance is by stifling the speech and ideas of those the dominant group has labeled
as outside the privileged circle (Kramarae, 2009). The muted group theory has been extensively
used by researchers in diverse fields of study. Some of these fields of study include communication
studies, media studies, philosophy, athletics, business, literacy, political science,... Show more

Many of the strengths of the muted group theory have to do with the information it provides. For
example, the muted group theory has given a new way of understanding how the majority group and
the minorities group communicate within society. Muted group theory explains some problems
women experience in speaking out in many settings (West, 2010). Additionally, the theory has
caused society to think about how gender, power, and communication relate to one another.
Furthermore, the theory has also caused society to reconsider and reform the ways and methods in
which communication occurs. Moreover, the theory brings to light the biases within language and
how these biases affect the minority groups. Finally, the muted group theory can be applied to
various groups not only men and
Cognitive Theory And Jean Piaget Cognitive Development...
Introduction: All children are unique as they learn, progress, develop at different rates and in a
variety of ways. Nearly all theorists agree on the principles of children s learning expansion in
general and play a vital fragment of early childhood development. They all accept that cognitive
learning is relatively systematic and takes place gradually at a variety of rates. Learning only
occurs when experience causes a permanent change in an individual s knowledge or behaviour
(Weatherby Fell, N. 2013). I am reviewing Burrus Federic Skinner s behavioural theory and Jean
Piaget cognitive development theory. This report style essay will provide an overview of the two
theorists, a comparison between the two in relation to the image of the child, teaching, learning and
development, and an analysis of how these two approaches align with the Early Years Learning
Framework (EYLF). Subsequently, details of both theories will be discussed and explained to
illuminate the differences and connections to how children learn. These two extremely well known
theorists approaches are stimulating, cause reflection upon learning methods and ensures thought
provoking teaching. Overview of B. F. Skinner s Behavioural Theory: 1904 1990 According to
Boeree, C, George (2006), B. F. Skinner s entire system is based on operant conditioning .
Behaviourism is determined by the environment and is concerning with the effect of external events
such as reward or punishment for behaviour (Duschesne,
Discipline
Discipline
Discipline is the process of teaching the child what type of behavior is acceptable and what type is
not acceptable, it teaches a child to follow rules. Discipline may involve both punishment, such as a
time out, and, more importantly, rewards. It sounds so straightforward, yet every parent becomes
frustrated at one time or another with issues surrounding children and discipline.
Every parent wants their children to be happy, respectful, respected by others, and able to find
their place in the world as well behaved adults. Nobody wants to be accused of raising a spoiled
brat. Our responsibility as a parent is to help our child become self reliant, respectful, and self
controlled. Relatives, schools, churches, therapists, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But our goal should not be to turn him into someone he is not.
As my children grew and began to understand the connection between actions and consequences, I
started communicating the rules of our family s home, explained what I expect of them.
Even when disciplining my children I show respect they are more likely to respect me, other family
members, and other people in their life. If I lose it or overreact with disrespect, I apologize.
Actually I behave the way I want them to behave.
For instance, the first time my 3 year old son used pencil to decorate the bedroom wall, I discussed
why that s not allowed and what will happen if he will do it again he will have to help clean the wall
and will not be able to use the pencils for the rest of the day. I explained also that pencils are for
paper only and not for wall.
In other words I establish this kind of I set the rules and you re expected to listen or accept the
consequences standard. Consistency is the key to effective discipline, and it s important to decide
what the rules are and then uphold them. Timeouts also can work well for kids at this age, however
I didn t give them timeouts.
I always reward good behaviors. I know how positive effect my praise can have discipline is not just
about punishment but also about recognizing good behavior.
