The Importance Of Technology In Papua New Guinea
How is it that people in Papua New Guinea are still using stone tools and in other countries are
using such advanced technology? The Europeans had the right climate for farming, access to
domesticated animals, an immunity to germs and steel. This allowed them to dominate countries
that didn t have these advantages. Latitude and geographic location controls climate. Climate will
control how well a country grow crops and what crops will actually grow, this will also affect how
much time a civilization have to advance. Geographic location affects what crops can grow
because people who live in the tropics are going to get a lot of rain so plentiful crops like wheat
will not survive in those conditions. Food like wheat needs a dry location because when the crop
gets wet it molds. Wheat is high in protein and can be stored for years, the crop also doesn t much
effort to grow and harvest. The europeans have a lot of spare time to focus on developing new
technology. Papua New Guineacan only grow sago which is low in protein and can only be stored
for a couple of days. Sago takes hours to collect, you have to cut down a sago tree and harvest the
sago in the middle. The people of Papua New Guineaare spending all their time collecting sago they
don t have time to worry about acquiring better technology. The geographic location of a civilization
controls climate and what crops you can grow. What you can grow affects what animals a
civilization can have. If a civilization has
The House Of The Scorpions Analysis
Throughout both The House of the Scorpions and On the Doctrine of the Feeling of Power, there
are many differences. These two articles are like comparing apples to broccoli as Mrs. White, my
eighth grade gifted English teacher, puts it. However, once you dig down deeper into the
meaning of these writings, you can find many similarities not easily seen on the surface.
Conceiving of power, as Nietzsche puts it, is more of a deceitful process. Nietzsche s process might
be more for someone who is looked at with little power. In other words, his process is more intended
for power hungry people. I believe that power should be obtained in respect and harmony.
Obviously, my way will take longer to move up the scale of power, but it is the only way to do it
without ending... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One way that people use benefiting is, if someone is running for class president or any other
thing that is controlled by the people s vote then the runner might hand out cookies, stickers,
anything the voter will like. They do this in order to get people on their side so they can win the
election against their opponent enemy. Obviously, they are not doing this in a negative way, all
they are thinking about is winning. This shows that sometimes you can be deceitful without even
realizing it. An example of pain is when a parent is punishing their child. The parent hates this
process, but they know it is the best thing to do for their child. All they want is to mature their
child into a well formed human being. As you can see, Nietzsche s ways are used in everyday life
without us even knowing it. As you can see, there are many more similarities than seen on the
surface. Both novels express high levels of power, and how to gain that power. Both show lots of
symbolism. Now you can see why it is better not judge a book or article by its
Evil Revivalists And Evil Sceptics
In philosophy, there are two groups of people who debate the concept of evil, Evil Revivalists and
Evil Sceptics. Evil Revivalists are all about evil being a useful term in today s society. They argue
the word evil is the only concept we can use for the worst of the worst. They also say that only by
facing the evilin our lives can we prevent it. This theory helps society to focus our limited energy
and resources when describing evil and helps us to respond better to evil. The Evil Sceptics on the
other hand think evil is concept that is too extreme and only hinders our thinking about bad events.
They argue that evil is often associated with the supernatural and lacks explanatory power. They
also say that it is way too harmful a concept as

Women Blues Music Essay
Out of all the topics for our assigned Research Paper, I decided to write about the forgotten history
of African Americans, the systemic oppression we faced and how that in turn affected the way
society views black women blues music. There could be many reasons why so many students are
never taught the untold history African americanculture and how black woman helped shape the
blues. All throughout my experience in the education system I can remember very select few times
where I was taught about African Americans that did something positive for our community besides
Martin Luther King Jr, Harriet Tubman, and the same famous historical scholars that we always
repeatedly learn about throughout the school system. I was always taught to have... Show more

For instance I know there had to be Kings and Queens of African descent. Also leaders, doctors,
psychologist, teachers, scientists, leaders of the world which is why I would to start off trying to
answer my main question which is why are we conditioned and only taught about predominately
white musicians and make it seem like black musicians were a second choice option or negative
choice of study. As Angela Davis points out in Blues Legacies and Black Feminism Billie Holiday
s songs were subversive in that they offered special privilege insights to black people about the
dominant culture.....unlike Bessie Smith and Gertrude Rainy, she did not concentrate on the musical
creations of black culture. Rather she body entered the domain of white love as it filtered through
the commodified images and market strategies......She revealed to her black audiences what the
world of white popular culture was about and invited them to discover how white people acquired a
consciousness of love and sexuality that was overdetermined by ideologies of male dominance
and heterosexism.(171) This has me invested in it particularly due to the fact that my father is
African American and my mom was of European from Germany, and I am able to relate to this
subject without being bias. I can t connect on either side of the fence so to speak and it is easy for
me to put myself in the shoes of the very same people I am
Wolfheart Character Analysis
The first and most interesting hero of Elsa s in this novel would have to be Wolfheart, otherwise
known as the Monster. Wolfheart is such a kind soul who wants only the best for Elsa. He knew
Elsa s grandmother quite well. He is also a war veteran with slight post traumatic stress disorder.
Wolfheart feels the unquenchable urge to be sterile and disinfected at almost every second of the
day. This quality that he possesses is vital because as the story progresses, the reader sees that
Wolfheart steps out of his comfort zone fro Elsa. He is such a wonderful and loving character
that Elsa accepts almost immediately and they begin to form a bond. The reader can infer that
Wolfheart wants to protect Elsa by the way he stopped some children from chasing her. She opens
her eyes and there s a deafening noise all around her. She can hear them yelling. Can hear that they
re running. And then she heard the Monster s voice. Something is booming out of him, like a
primeval power. NEVER TOUCH HER! Everything echos (Backman 85). This particular passage
sends chills down my spine because Wolfheart is using his outward appearance combined with his
voice to ward off the pesky children and ultimately save Elsa. The ultimate impact that he leaves on
Elsa is evident when many times throughout the book, Elsa finds herself wishing that he was there
beside her to comfort her. Besides Grandma, Wolfheart is the only person that Elsa has felt the most
comfortable and secure with. The next hero is
Write An Essay On Coqui Frog
Invasive and Dangerous: The Coqui Frog Recently, an invasive and lilliputian frog has had a
detrimental effect on the Hawaiian environment. Originally from Puerto Rico, the amphibian
arrived in Hawaii and spread like a plague. Such a small frog cannot have that big of an impact,
right? Wrong. The Coqui frogis a damaging invasive speciesof the Hawaiian islands due to its lack
of natural predators and adaptability, dangerous eating habits, and its easy distribution among the
state. One reason the Coqui Frog is especially harmful to Hawaiis many ecosystems is because they
are adaptable and have no natural predators. For example, the Hawaii Invasive Species Council
states the frog has No natural predators to keep populations in check (and no natural competitors),
populations have reached 55,000... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the Hawaii Invasive Species Council, Coqui frogs do not travel very far on their
own, but when given the chance to hop on a nursery plant, flowers, or vehicle, they can quickly
spread. Most coqui arrive on new islands through infested nursery plants and flowers. Intra island,
coqui travel by the movement of plants by humans and may hitch a ride on vehicles (Coqui). In
other words, the frog will latch on to a variety of human transportations and expand their
boundaries. Furthermore, Coquis are nocturnal, so the dissemination of the frogs is partially
affiliated with the motion and relocation of various house plants (Plant). Residents of Hawaii are
evidently a large reason the frog has the ability to grow in numbers and located across the state.
Some people when coming across the frog relocate and release it, spreading the frog an even farther
distance (which it is illegal to provide transportation to the amphibians) (Plant). Consequently, the
frog populations are growing and will continue, unless residents of Hawaii are cooperative in
reducing the spread of the
