Spanish Civil War
SPANISH CIVIL WAR WEAKNESS COLLAPSE Introduction: The second republic was formed
after the dictatorship under Primo de Rivera (1923) and the abdication of the King. The republican
leftist government was established in 1931. It inherited the poor economy courtesy of the Great
Depression, so naturally unemployment rates were high and wages were low. Ideological
differences between various political groups were in existence due to the radicalized time, however
not to the extent as in most other European nations at the time as Spain was not as heavily involved
in or impacted by WWI. On top of this, Spain had been rife with regional, economic, and social
conflict for decades. These factors, although minor in the context of the... Show more content on

So who cares? The socialist and urban working class still supported the government o But NO!
The socialist and urban class were a small majority in Spain actually as the social class was
extremely polarized in Spain. o NOT ONLY did it anger the wealthy/landed/industrialists but it
also left a majority of ordinary people dissatisfied as it had little to no effect on the widespread
poverty of rural Spain SOOOO it was very much unsuccessful in that it really pleased no one and
angered just about everyone, thereby significantly reducing the Gov t support base Carlos Rama:
Civil war resulted from Spain s failure to create a state which could command at least the
allegiance, and perhaps the luke warm support of its citizens. o Indicates that the societal discord

Cloning is the New Black
Cloning could potentially allow advances in science that will benefit society as a whole. Cloning of
both humans and animals can help advancements in curing a variety of diseases. Those who oppose
this proposition believe it is morally and ethically wrong. Proponents for cloning animals know that
it can allow for a healthier lifestyle and help maximize production numbers, while opponents think
that the technologies will be abused. Cloning has caused a number of arguments. Individuals are
arguing what is morally acceptable, the roles animals should play, and how the government should
decide on the issue. Because of these disagreements, cloning has ... Show more content on

After much debate, they had agreed that research and applying these methods will show promise and
benefits to better human health while mindful to the ethical concerns and maintaining defense for
human rights (United Nations). Cloning shows a promising future in the medical field. Scientists
have faith that stem cells show reassuring sources for advance remedies. With recent advances in
research, scientists can possibly create cures for several diseases and create stand in tissues
developed from a subject s body cells (Follow up). Stem cells are known for their wide variety of
uses. Because of this characteristic, scientists can do almost anything with them making them
beneficial to medical research. Eventually, scientists hope to manipulate cells into a wide variety of
organs and tissues to help treat people with an assortment of illnesses. Once researchers can
understand what causes these diseases, they will eventually be able to prevent them with genetic
engineering. Recently, Israeli scientists announced that they have managed to grow embryonic cells
to create specific organ cells like those from the heart and pancreas (Hope). President Obama
reinforces the idea that these tiny cells may have the potential to help us understand, and possibly
cure, some of our most devastating diseases (Follow up). Although many might believe humans
should go by the principle that only the strong survive, there are individuals who think it is inhumane

India, being one of the world s nations that focuses on climate change and control, is among those
setting up treaties and designs to pertain to the environmental changes coming along year after
year. Mahatma Gandhi, one of the greatest leaders to leave this world, left with a few words on the
environment: The earth, the air, the land and the water are not an inheritance from our fore fathers
but on loan from our children. So we have to handover to them at least as it was handed over to us.
If we as humans cannot live up to this standard of the loan we ve been given in this lifetime, who
can? India was first colonized in the sixteenth century by multiple European nations, with one of

the border with 14 nations alongside it, it is put at higher risk of climate change. On the one

Truth And Falsehood In The Drawer Boy
The Drawer Boy expresses the theme of truth and falsehood ; a theme that most humans can relate
to. Many humans face the dillema of avoiding or confronting truth. And not only does every human
experience true lies , but they also share the feelings of liberation that result from confession. Truth
and falsehood, as expressed in the play, is a universal theme.
To begin, The Drawer Boy expresses the dilemma most humans face when it comes to avoiding or
confronting truth. In the past, Morgan was unsure whether to tell Angus the true story of his head
injury and what happened to the women they loved. Morgan faces this dillema as he is the one
responsible for Angus fatal head injury and because Frances, his beloved, left him indirectly because

In the play, Morgan, Miles, and Angus, are all agitated and argue with one another, from pages
49 to 55, as they near Morgan s confession. Once conffessed, Morgan feels liberated as he is no
longer holding a great amount of guilt and because he released the secret pain he has been dealing
with in regards to his beloved one leaving him on Angus and Sally s account. As proof, Angus says
to Morgan that he must hate him for being responsible for Sally and France s departure. But
Morgan replies I guess I did, Angus , the past tense indicating that Morgan does not hate Angus
anymore, after having confessed. In addition, Miles and Angus feel a sense of relief after the
confession, as humans usually do, because they finally can confront the truth and Morgan s
behaviour finanlly make sense. When behaviour and events make sense in one s mind, one feels
more at ease. Similarily, in real life, humans feel this same sense of liberation and relief after a
confession. This is generally because guilt that has remained in them for a long while builds up
inside, putting stress on the person mentally and emotionally, which turns the stress into something
physical. As a result, this stress immediately begins abating after a confession. Consequently,
Morgan, Miles, and Angus, from The Drawer Boy, experience the liberation that comes after
confession, which, as proven here, is a universal

The United States National Security Agency
With the ever expanding enigma that is the internet and technology, there is the constant question of
privacy; how does the US monitor its citizens or foreign nations? Edward Snowden, a man who
risked himself to bring details about the United States National Security Agency to light; the
National Security Agency (NSA) is the government agency responsible for surveillanceon foreign
countries as well as the US itself. How do these two tie together? Or how did the NSA let Snowden,
or others before him, get into through their securityand publicize classified information? Snowden,
the whistle blower of the NSA that revealed thousands of NSA secrets, started life as a normal
child and into his teen years he never stood out. Edward Snowden is known as s computer literate
person of interest, yet when he was young and in high school, he dropped out of school. Despite
being a high school dropout, at the age of 16 Snowden attended a community college. While in his
teens and late twenties Snowden was very interested in the internet; it could be theorized that this
interest in the internet would lead to what he would want to reveal. In his teens and early twenties,
Snowden was often found online in chat rooms about computers and other things involving the
internet. He was known for contributing on a site know as Ars Technica. As stated by Harding,
Snowden first started on this site with the intention of setting up his own server.

Character Analysis Of Gerta In A Night Divided
In the beginning of the book A Night Divided, Gerta was physically described as a twelve year old
girl with blond hair. She was also described as having round eyes, with a warm brown tone. Her
body was athletic and fit although, by the end of the book she had become really skinny almost as if
she had been starving.
Gerta was always described as outspoken, passionate, and a risk taker. For example, in the book
when Gerta and her brother were almost done with the tunnel, the tunnel began to collapse, her
brother insisted to let it collapse however Gerta never gave up on building the tunnel. This is an
example of Gerta being a risk taker and showing determination on not giving up. Another scene
from the book is when Gerta s only best friend goes to talk to her when she is building the tunnel,
but Gerta impulsively tells her that she doesn t want to be her friend anymore because she wants to
be alone and finish the tunnel to get to her father.
Gerta s family consists of five people not including Gerta; those people are her mom, dad, two
brothers, and grandma. Her mom is named Catherina, her dad s name is Aldous Lowe, her oldest
brother is named Fritz, her younger brother s name is Dominic and her grandmother s name is Oma
Gertrude. After the Berlin Wall was created, Gerta lived only with her mom and her oldest brother
Fritz since her youngest brother and her dad were stuck in the West Berlin looking for a job. Her
grandmother lived in the countryside in East Berlin, the only time Gerta s mother went to see her
was when Oma Gertrude broke her leg and needed attention. Gerta s only friend through out the book
was Anna.
The most important thing that happened to Gerta was when she was walking home from school
with Anna and saw her dad do a dance that he would do for her every night before the berlin wall
was created. However, her dad kept repeating one part over and over again which was digging with
a shovel. After that, Anna gave her a letter from her dad with a drawing of a building that Gerta had
to find and figure out what it meant. Once she found the building she started looking around and
found and underground room and figured out what her father wanted her to do, he wanted her to dig
a tunnel to west
