Internet Usage And Its Effect On Our Lives
For college students, scientists, bankers, and countless other occupations, Internet usage is a crucial
element in daily life. This is an incredible realization when considering the fact that a majority of
people living today has spent the majority of their lives without the Internet. In December of 2000,
nine years after the debut of the worldwide web, the Internethad 361 million users (5.8% of the
world s population). Just thirteen years later, in December 2013, the Internet boasted 2,802 million
users (39.0% of the world s population) (www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm 2014). Never before
has any technology spread and been incorporated into everyday life as quickly as the worldwide
web (see Figure 1). The Internet permeated our... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coincidentally (simultaneously and without knowledge of the other party), Paul Baran of the
RAND Corporation was developing alternative packet switching technologies for the military so they
could establish secured voice communications. He created a distributed web of communications
rather than a centralized format (see Figure 2). Later, in 1969, the two would team up to optimize the
dynamic capacities of the Internet and would eventually create ARPANET (a precursor to the
Internet) (Zakon 2014).
Another part of the Internet s proliferation can be credited to previous technological advances that
both contributed to the development of Internet technology and set the stage for integration of
Internet in our every day lives. Prior to 1970, communications technology evolved at a slow and
steady pace. The first innovation moved our communications from mail to the telegraph, in 1832.
Next came Alexander Bell s invention, the creation of the telephone in 1876. Soon after, in 1895,
the radio was created (and was in fact called the wireless telegraph originally) (Leiner 1997). Each of
these technologies became an integral part of first world communications. The Internet was easily
incorporated in people s homes, as they already had telephone lines that could serve as cable
connections. The aforementioned inventions,
The Debate On The Circus Acts That Were Called The 1st...
After viewing the circus acts that were called the 1st presidential debate and the vice presidential
debate that aired earlier in the month, my expectations for the 2nd debate were not too high.
Unfortunately my even my low expectations were not met and I felt as though there was not a large
enough improvement during this debateto have made any difference from the first one. While we
saw some improvement in terms of candidatebehavior, the rest of the debate was severely lacking
in substance. Questions posed by the audience were shallow, then made even more so by the
follow up questions from the moderators. On the topic of moderators, there appears to be a
continuing theme of their lack of effectiveness that has carried throughout all of the debates
including this one. Leading up to the 2nd debate we have seen the results of having two candidates
with political views on complete opposite poles and personalities to match. The events of the first
debate can easily be described as throwing water into a pot of hot oil and just watching it happen.
Throughout the debate we had seen Donald Trumprepeatedly interrupt and attempt to interject as
Hillary Clinton was speaking in an effort to defend himself. However this interruptions were more
of a nuisance, especially due to most of them being composed of the words no and not true .
Fortunately for the sake of everyone watching the debate, Trump learned to better control his
interruptions and was largely silent while it was
Liking Is for Cowards Essay
Jonathan Franzen wrote the article, Liking is for Cowards. Go for what Hurts. This article caused
extreme interest and controversy by the topic of his argument. The purpose of Franzen writing the
article was to challenge us to get back to the true meaning of love and not being so terrified of
rejection. He feels that we had become too comfortable just liking what people expect us to and
have lost the real understanding of the word love. Franzen stated, If you dedicate your existence to
being likable, however, and if you adopt whatever cool persona is necessary to make it happen, it
suggests that you ve despaired of being loved for who you really are (Franzen, Liking is for
Cowards. Go for what Hurts. ). Franzen even admitted throughout... Show more content on

He wants people to step away from their technology and go out into the real world and have real
world experiences. He wants people to take risks, but most of our world is afraid of that, because
of the fear of rejection. Franzen states, The prospect of pain generally, the pain of loss, of
breakup, of death, is what makes it so tempting to avoid love and stay safely in the world of
liking. He s admitting that love is hard and it comes with its own risks, but in the end, it is
definitely worth it. Franzen discusses his relationship to the environment to try to expand on the
ethos of his writing. He wrote how in college he developed a strong liking for the environment
and the world around us. He began to be frustrated and discouraged by all of the negatives that the
world faces every single day, such as rising global temperatures and the accumulation of garbage
in the ecosystem. Eventually, he made a conscious decision to back away from the environment,
but then he found a fascination with birds. He felt a sense of love for the birds, and ironically,
this made him even more concerned about the environment because that was the home of the birds
that he had such a passion for. And here s where a curious paradox emerged. My anger and pain and
despair about the planet were only increased by my concern for wild birds, and yet, as I
Rotator Cuff Research Paper
Rotator cuff tendons are prone to degeneration leading to swelling with sub luxation due to
continuous active and passive forces. Rotator cuff pathology includes tendinopathy, tendinosis and
bursitis, as well as rotator cuff tears. Most common indication for rotator cuff tears include
increasing age and traumatic shoulderinjury. Clinical symptoms for rotator cuffinjuries include
shoulder pain, weakness and loss of range of motion. However, these symptoms are common in
various diseases; differential diagnosis includes labral tears, glenohumeral ligament tears or sprains,
coracoacromial and arcomioclavicular ligament tears and sprains, osteoarthritis, adhesive capsulitis,
proximal peripheral neuropathies and cervical radiculopathy. Hence,... Show more content on

Thus helps in treatment planning and prognosis. Multiple factors are to be considered during
treatment planning. It is important to identify the disorder and its clinical implications, to ensure
the most appropriate treatment. Nevertheless, the choice of imaging test depends on personal
experience, preference, local availability and the cost of imaging. The American College of
Radiology has developed informative criteria that rate the relative usefulness of various imaging
modalities for the evaluation of shoulder pain in different clinical scenarios. However, the
diagnostic algorithm will ultimately be influenced by the therapeutic approach. The use of various
imaging techniques to determine rotator cuff injuries is very controversial. Thus a technique used
should not only be informative but cost effective as well. Arthrography is invasive with much
health risk. US is a non invasive, relatively inexpensive, no risk of exposure to radiation and
therefore, can be used as initial line of investigation. MRI is sensitive and specific, to detect correct
site and extent of tear and also non rotator cuff related pathologies like

would be donating money to the needy, giving clothes to the homeless, building a home for a
families that have lost their home. Carnegie became a philanthropist because he came from a

Analysis Of Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard
Ties that Bind In Russian writer Anton Chekhov s play, The Cherry Orchard, Chekhov tells the
story of a family in crisis and instability at the beginning of the 20th century. The family is about to
lose their beloved cherry tree orchard estate because they cannot pay the mortgage. The play,
written in 1904, only one year before the first Russian Revolution (1905 1907), is a rendering of the
social changes and reform that Russiawas experiencing. Chekhov died in 1904 just months before
the uprising called Bloody Sunday and was himself the grandson of an emancipated serf (Marks,
n.d.) In The Cherry Orchard, there are no riots or raised and clenched fists, but it is a subtler
reflection of the times, and the death and demise of the Russian aristocracy and the making of a
middle class. However, post slaveryor serfdom, the chains that bind humans are not always visible.
The way Chekhov portrayed the former serfs in his play seems to whitewash reality and allow the
audience to conveniently forget the past. Perhaps he did this with purpose. In American film and
literature, we took the same tack until the latter part of the 20th century. In Chekhov s play and in
America the help comes across as one of the family, free of the emotional pain of the past and are
portrayed as happy and willing to serve. The emotional slavery represented in The Cherry Orchard
is not limited to the former serfs but also includes the aristocracy and middle class as well. In
modern times, Chekhov s

Pizza Store Layout Simulation 350 slices of pizza are eaten by Americans every second, there are
approximately 61, 269 pizzerias in the United States, each serving around 61,000 customers per
year. In the pizza store layout simulation I will examine, identify, and discuss points of process
performance and metrics within the pizza business. This paper will also discuss alternative ways to
run processes and apply the learning curve concepts to test the alternative against the existing
process. This paper will also discuss how good the initial process data is compared to the new
alternative. The objectives of this assignment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A reasonable profit was made and utilization of the resources was at high levels. During the next
part of the simulation I decided to buy two of the new ovens and the Menu Point customer system,
this increased profits but as the simulation states the two ovens were unnecessary. Looking at this
from a purely profit and loss standpoint I made the right choices by buying the new units and
installing the customer service system Menu Point. These are very big changes and the learning
curve will be steep but the turnaround should keep the learning curve to a relatively low spike as
the new equipment will basically only change the timing for the items to be prepared and delivered
as continual training takes place.
Mario has stepped in and decided to buy only one of the new ovens. The restaurant also decided
to rent the facility next door, Cream Puffs, to broaden the ability to serve customers. The plan for
the counter service pickup window was scrapped and the new business expansion opened. The
learning curve for this was very low as it was an expansion of current processes that only
increased the volume, it did not set any new processes in place that would increase the learning
curve. The waiting time is down as is the queue length and the profits are up for the business. The
service side of the business can now keep up with the demand side. Managing the wait times and
queues are easier now since
Minor Dyslexia
The process of writing was one that as a kid loomed over me because the idea of expressing the
feelings that were inside out onto a paper always stumped me. How could I be asked to take what
was held privately in my head and manage to make sense of it all, enough that others could
understand? The struggle to manage my feelings into tangible ideas stemmed from my minor
dyslexia and it was apparent in my ability to read and write. The spelling errors that riddled my
writingand my inability to differentiate opposites while speaking were clear indicators that my minor
dyslexia was something that I would have to live with. Going through the typical public schooltract
was not one that favored those with learningdisabilities. In elementary and
New Business Goals For The Upcoming Year Essay
Focusing on new business goals for the upcoming year is a crucial component for success. Setting
reachable goals and benchmarks may involve numerous areas within the company. Some areas may
only require minor changes. Others may require a completely new approach to meet the changing
trends of the new year. One of the most important aspects of any business is customer service.
Failure to meet the needs of the consumer may result in loss of sales to a competitor. The changing
trends and behaviors of the average consumer require companies to concentrate on the
personalization of customer service in 2017. The Knowledgeable Consumer Advancements in

The wide spread use of mobile technology allows for a consumer to research items of interest
immediately. The ease of access to product information drastically changes shopping and buying
trends. The changes allow the consumer to understand the differences in customer services.
Replacing the simple concept of good and bad customer service is meeting and exceeding
expectations. The average consumer expects a higher level of customer service. Updating customer
service to meet the new expectations of the consumer may require research and changes to existing
policies. Getting to Know the Smart Consumer Measuring current customer satisfaction is a crucial
